Well I've got two codes: registration code and a ps3 "promo code". The registration is longer than the usual PSN code.

Yeah, in this case you are good to go. You will use the PSN code to download the client, and inside the client you will put the registration code. Note that you will need a SE account, though you can create on on spot.

Shame I don't have the registration code :/

If you mean individual player housing, I don't think that's going to be in XIV

Just dug this up after searching some -

Yoshida-san also revealed that there's a new housing system releasing with the first large content patch. Instead of occupying housing "instances," players can actually purchase land and build upon it in "community-style" housing areas. Readers, if you're interested in purchasing land for a house early, heed this advice: Save as much Gil as you can.

So I have to say, the Battle system is much more "actiony" than 1.0's battle system. and that's great for the Pugilist.

The music though...holy crap, I'm in love with Ul'dah's music.

turns out i didnt need the 20 digit code that came with the PS3 beta since i already had an account can it be used to register for someone that didnt get in?

Can anyone clarify to me in what way they are gimping the money for legacy players? I think I've had only a few mil in my account.

Basically, all players(even non Legacy status players) get a digit(or a 0) removed from their gil. So say, you had 10,000,000 in 1.0, you'll only have 1,000,000 in ARR. It specially sucks for people who had like, hundreds of millions of gil.

Having lots of fun with this (whenever my crappy internet doesn't crap out on me).

Really does have this just one more quest feeling especially when I go and turn one in and start like two more in the same area.

Am I the only one that thinks this feels way more like WoW or GW than FFXI? I probably won't play it longer than a month when it comes out and I had like 400 days played on FFXI, this just feels like a generic American MMO now :[

You are not and I don't particularly like where the game falls on the WoW/GW and FFXI spectrum in terms of a lot of things. However, it is very competent and they seem to be delivering on the promise of challenging quests with solid aesthetics, which is one half of what I liked about FFXI.

I made it to level 16 as an Archer (and leveled a bit as a conjurer, so I can heal myself a little sometimes XD and it helped a lot with a duty quest) and the game is pretty fun, though the UI is so... console-like it hurts the flow imo. Pretty to look at, but feels limited at times.

The game feels inconsistent graphically. Some stuff looks really nice, other feels really jarring. You have this NPC with nice armor, for example, and then the belt is an aliased mess, or the blurry textures for certain parts of the environment.

Crafting seems fun so far (leveled LTW to 11), though this aspect too feels constrained by the UI. I'd prefer to be able to choose to make 4 pieces of leather and then work on it continuously, instead of having to go back and forth between windows.

Is there no way to do a /who for a guild?

Made a Gladiator named Entropia Garrus on Ultros. Can I get an invite to the GAF guild?

Thanks.

lmao

Probably trying to figure out how to target NPCs just to have a conversation. I find it weird on the gamepad it doesn't auto-target the nearest enemy when you press X

I recommend you take a tour through the game's options. One solution to your problem is that you can set "targeting modes" with shortcuts using the controller. L1+face buttons. So you can set it to "target NPCs only", then switch it back.

EDIT: Also you shouldn't need to "cycle through your ability". The cross-bar means you hold or toggle a shoulder button and then push on the dpad or one of the face buttons. It is kind of like Heavy Sword or DmC.

So, there's a store local to me that still has a copy of the original game on the shelf. If I were to buy that now, would I still be able to get the upgrade to 2.0 when it releases? Or would I need to have registered it prior to the shutdown of 1.0?

Will there be a monthly fee to play the game? The game is good, I only played ten levels, but so far it seems like a solid game. Problem is it doesn't come anywhere close to justifying a monthly fee, I haven't come across anything in this that seems much better than a game like GW2.

Seriously? And new people still complain? -.-'

I'm finally in!

The servers are cross platform right? I'm on PC and I have a friend in PS3, so I'm hoping we can play together.

Btw I'm in Ultros, my char's name is "Elehaym Athanatos" is there any kind of GAF linkshell of guild or something?

Everything also went down by a digit as well. So like a potion that costed 1000 gil before is now 100. Buying power is the same as before as a result.

Made my first character, Derahm Rayge. I'm so scared. I haven't played an MMO in years. I'll ask for an invite for a GAF shell after I get the hang of things on my own, so I don't look like a scrub.

Ahhhh I think I'll take a break from this tonight. Hit lvl 20 and camped out at Drybone Camp. Come Phase 4 I'll probably make a human female instead. Just something about the elv race that puts me off. Dunno. Eh, either way, the game is fun. The music is top notch. Questing is easy and the story is damn good. They have my support 100%.

Glad that it went to you, I felt pretty bad that you didn't get a registration code!

Haha, thank you!

Yeah, after the first month the monthly fee kicks in. The price depend on how many months you purchase, but the cheapest is $12.99 if you are not legacy.

After playing the new version I am going to give it a shot. Just a reminder it is only 22.50 to preorder it at GMG right using code GMG25-2G9OL-15PO7 . Figure I will get 20 bucks worth of entertainment out of it.

Here I am. That bush from Daggerfall also makes a cameo to my right:

Game sure runs a lot better and is more responsive. I'm liking it so far. Hopefully I can force some proper AA.

Is the hunting brand new, or did I just never find it 1.0 ? I feel like everything is much better laid out now. Was pretty lost when I played the original, this one I was able to just jump right in and go.

Really liked playing as a healer. Was able to find friends cause I'd just run around and heal someone who was about to die, boom instant adventuring buddy.

I remember reading that legacy player will be able to change their race/gender on ARR, is that still happening?, I kinda want to change race lol.

What would be the best solo melee class for someone new to the game? I haven't played FFXI either.

I think any of them would be fine imo. Even better is when you can switch to other jobs, you can pick up Conj. for the cure and protect and use those with your leveling as melee. Profit :D

Put in around 4 hours today on PC and I think I really like it. Visually it is awe inspiring at times. When I arrived in Costa Del Sol I was having fun just looking at how nice things looked. There is an organic feeling to the maps. In 1.0 it felt like a hodgepodge of random stuff to fill space. Here it feels like there is more love put into them. I found this old house in a Jungle area I was at and it was kind of neat, even though there was no tangible reward. I can tell I am going to be exploring this world for eye-candy. Wandering some of the areas outside Limsa Lominsa is simply amazing. This game totally screams Final Fantasy to me.

Combat is fast and enjoyable. Been doing the FATE events and think it's a neat way to group up for a bit on a more casual manner. Can't wait to see the dungeons and get into a real party.

Overall as someone who doesn't play MMOs I am having a lot of fun. I definitely see myself investing time into the full product.

What is this and why am I laughing?
There are still over fifteen people in front of me. The line hasn't moved in probably ten minutes as a gang of people trying to brute force entering the quest has stalled all progress.
