A few days ago I was running around bit and saw 6 characters wearing the same thing. Turns out they were spirit bonding bots. I walked away to kill some monsters and came back to see 5 of them dead. I reported them and I hope I was able to drag enough monsters over to kill them. Lol

I should probably look at that. I want a bunch of the craftable minions and have 0 of them.

You'll be sorely disappointed. If you wanted crafted minions, get the mats and commission Bara or someone to make it for you. The minions in question are the easy rewards for fates, like Caner, and and The Eyes Have It. Pretty sure most of the FC have these by now.

Edit: I'd recommend you save your money for buying glamour crystals though. ;)

This is true, you save yourself roughly 50% off the market price, I think they charge 45K+, can get it made roughly 20K per, so get both minions for the price of 1

Other minions have been a pain in the ass for me

Bluebird and Tonberry have been a nightmare to get

I gave up on Bluebird after doing 30+ peiste (I did 17 straight once...), moved onto Boar for Tonberry, still nothing after 25, at least I can solo the Boar ones, peiste requires too much, people really sometimes like saying no to free gil, even if the treasure map holder is porting them, too much of a hassle to move from place to place

Amazingly got Tiny Bulb on 2nd Toadskin map, tried to sell, no one bought after 5 days, so I just used it
Goat and Leather don't drop anything unless you want to hope for the gil items like the tear or exquisite button

At least I have 7 rows done, starting on 8th row soon

We gave up after 50+ without a single minion.

I get it you want the minions to be rare, but this f'n rare...

It's like FFXI invaded and brought it's drop rate along for the ride

So many people stopped going after maps (gathering them or just using themselves), the prices quickly rose back up to 10K+

Boars are the priciest

Doesn't help the loot the damn chest are fn horrible
Always swan and eagle feathers to fuck you over...
Best is when they give you like 8 HQ ochu vines or rivets/rings of a metal which most of the time are useless and take awhile to sell cause you might get 2-5 of them, your thinking really?

Give items that are at least beneficial to the use, fuck give us food that at least will give me +3% bonus + stat boost, seriously almost 80% of the shit I get I vendor
It'd be awesome if they drop HQ food like Coil food, so at least it isn't a complete waste

Quite honestly, I am fine with it. EVERYTING in this game is way too easy to get, everyone has the same stuff. Treasure hunt minions, Nightmare mount and to a lesser extent T5 stuff (these days so many people have T5 things) are at least somewhat rare.

That would potentially cannibalize the Culinary market. I don't think introducing another problem just to solve a problem would be the right way to do it.

What they need to do is just make those feathers and other knicknacks more worthwhile. And by that I mean, put them in some new recipes, introduce a bunch more furniture that uses it or something.

They are supposed to be adding a ton of recipes for 2.2.

Be hilarious if there are some prerequisites to even use the recipes

Synth all items from level 1-50 or get the Master's Ring of said craft before you can try out new recipes or, hell finish off the 1-2 star items

Be a nice roadblock for some, haha

Economy would flourish quickly, cause demand will out pace supply

This is what I was remembering, from the last live letter:

Also, the item level cap will increase in patch 2.2, and a vast number of items will be added along with high-level crafting recipes. With advanced materia melding, it would be quicker to outfit oneself with gear from the market, giving crafters an opportunity to make money and revitalize the market. A host of new crafting materials will also be added, so you'll want to keep an eye out.

The economic balance of FFXIV: ARR is set up in such a way that players save up to fill the gap created by the item level cap, or perhaps craft equipment and meld it with materia to raise their item levels faster, gradually procuring equipment until the next patch. At the time of the next patch, players will have procured most of their equipment and the economy will begin declining, but the patch to follow will add a large amount of new items which will revitalize the economy, and the cycle will begin again. Updates will continually introduce new items and materials for use by both battle and crafting classes, and we believe economic conditions will vary greatly when new patches are implemented. The first wave of this change will come in patch 2.2, so please keep an eye out for this. I realize some players would simply have us change the drop rates of materials already in the game, but this would have little effect on the market. Additionally, the upcoming glamour system will involve Disciples of the Hand, so please look forward to this.

Sounds like they want to make crafted gear comparable to what you get in high level dungeons so with lock outs and such it will be faster to get your ilevel up through crafted stuff. I have my doubts...but before he last patch Yoship said dungeon leveling would be faster than fates and he followed way the hell through on that.

Economy will never flourish with a game that is centered around raid and dungeon content/items.

Maybe if they had half of your gear come from crafting and half from dungeon content it would even out a bit though.

We very well could be seeing some huge prerequisites to craft certain items (outside of stat requirements), let's not forget the quote mentioning Master Recipe Books:

SE said:
Other features coming in patch 2.2 include master recipe books for crafters, gardening for free company estates, new hair styles, retainer ventures, big fishing, a challenge log, new mounts, and more. Disciples of War and Magic may also want to dust off their relic weapons if they aren't still using them, as an opportunity to unlock their true powers will present itself.

Beat Turn 9... Get 1 master recipe book to drop to get ilvl 100 crafted gear made, while Coil drops 105-110 LOL

If ALC or CUL drops, you dun fucked for a week!m but now you can make buttons in a blanket II!, just requires the double amount of everything!

another reason to not craft

I'm taking the farming up materials make said item an ungodly amount of times, then *Profit* off them

Hell every WVR item I've been making so far has been netting me roughly 100K per 10 levels, which is insane

Made many dew threads into undyed velevteens (HQ of course), then flax to linen thread to undyed linen, now I start farming up a fuck ton Fleece + Snurble Tufts to get me from 41-50

Crafting leveling up can be super beneficial to your pocketbook if you take it slowly and not rush to 50, where there are already an abundant amount of crafters there

got the bluebird from hunting with my FC. i've yet to see the minions from boarskin and toadskin maps, but that's fine. only seen one player in town with tonberry minion since patch.

Greetings,

Sorry to bump this thread, but I have additional information regarding the feature that will allow players to use pre-made parties in the duty roulette. The development team is currently working on this and they plan to address this in patch 2.3.

From the forums.

The thread also had this tidbit of info earlier on:

The development team actually had the idea to allow players to queue up for the Duty Roulette as a party since the planning stages of this feature

I don't think people will stop running it normally though.

Oh good, I'd love to do a FC DR...even though having to run AK and WP for tomes used to suck, it was nice how people often teamed up to do them. Now everyone just solo's their DR to max tomes

Is everyone on here still on Ultros GAF? I'm looking for a static coil group (for 2.2) and am willing to move servers. i90 WHM/i88 SCH (and have DPS alts in i80s). 9pm-12am Pacific during week is when I'm available, though. All the recruiting groups I see are East Coast/Central Time and are too early for me.

Doesn't that defeat the mechanic of DR?

You go into DR knowing you might get matched up with newer people and help out, if it's all pre-made, what's the incentive?

The incentive is I don't need to deal with people who don't know their class. The whole point of a duty roulette is that your duty is random not the people you have to slog through it with.

That's gonna be horrible for newbies though and it pretty much means they will have to find a FC and friends in order to get anything done.

Yeah I thought he point of DR was so that queues weren't so long for low level dungeons. I wonder if maybe they will let you do it with up to three people preformed or something.

Wasn't the whole point of the DR to get more people running dungeons so new people could get through the story? Suck it up, you shouldn't have everything handed to you. If you want to speedrun without newbies then make a party and do it, the DR rewards are there for helping others. If you don't want to help then just run with friends.

Tam-Tara/Toto Rak or BUST!

I got them so many times, how I long for Qarn or Cutters >_<

Yeah, they even give tanks the 100 Phil and 10 Myth bonus for running low level dungeon DR as a lvl 50 tank to help out DPS (new or just waiting for the queue to come up)

I would love more stuff that encouraged FC members to run together rather than having members grinding in silos (that sounded better in my head).

Wouldn't it be great if there were something like a roulette that randomly matched you up with FC members, for example?

Not really, no. There are loners who are good players too. Not everyone who doesn't have an FC is a walking dipstick. It will continue on same as now, some groups will be great, some will be terrible, and some will be in-between, but those of us who have the means to get rid of that random chance can also take the opportunity.

No, the rewards are there for not being allowed to do which dungeon you want to do. Obviously SE agrees with me.

The original one got pretty messed up, one new clean one might be nice. Might be better to wait for the first expansion though, I'm not sure how many people will care to fill out their info again.

The expansion is a ways off, no? There must be two or three updates for Crystal Tower and Binding Coil each. I was thinking the PS4 release was the next big thing.

This will force the skilled loners to join FC's as well. Majority of the players are in FCs and if they can, they'd avoid doing dungeons with randoms if they have the choice.

Since fates aren't viable anymore and random df will being practically dead, this will pretty much weed out the "terrible" players.

Decided to make a character on Ultros because why not.

Character is Zomba Bomba. Is there room in the GAF FC there?

AS this will be a secondary character probably won't touch crafting and have chosen WAR because I want the fast queues and I have PLD on Sarg. Made him a cute lil Lala going back to making cute characters in MMOs.

Well 2.2 will be added 2 weeks before PS4 launch goes live, 1 week if you count the Beta

So you get 2.0 + 2.1 + 2.2 content

Most likely 2.3 will come in June right after E3 to maximize PR and try to grab more subs
Also when they'll start mentioning of Expansion with TGS for full reveal, but a name and maybe 30 sec to a minute CGI tease to lets us gawk over

If they really want they can do a 1 year anniversary at the end of August and do a patch like 2.4 and call it end to the ARR/ARA era
Then shift focus on Expansion and new subtitle to coincide with "3.0"
Release it in October just as 1 year subs will be lapsing for most of the user-base
