Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

to be fair iris is probably only a demon hunter because she's mad that they "killed" noctis and dedicated her life to avenging his death. too bad no one went and told her that he was alive

Aside from gameplay elements I mean. Gladiolus is God awful but at least he makes me hate him. With Ignis, I just forget he even exists. Prompto is the only one of the cast that I feel like could stand up among other final fantasy casts. Ignis is Penello tier worthless.

As others have said, Ignis is the one cooking the meals, driving the gang and coming up with the plans and strategies. Not to mention he provides the most support in battle.

He's a caregiver. There's a reason why Ignis was the only one who never got separated from the group. Without Ignis, the whole team would be lost. Out of everyone in the main cast, he's the most useful.

Also, he becomes freaking Daredevil by the end.

i wish we had

Just wait a month or so and it'll start popping up on pixiv and Deviantart for sure

Iris is a daemon. I'm sure of it.

Fucking 1-shotting MT Assassins like its nothing is crazy if you as me :P

Seriously though, Iris felt very much like a Blackbelt x White mage when she was in the party. I never felt worried about my health and her tech had good damage output. The fact that guests never die, makes the whitemage aspect that much better in combat around tons of enemies.

Really changed my opinion from "stereotypical annoying sister-type" into "hidden badass". Loved it :3

I didn't like Iris because of her voice acting, it was poor. It was also annoying how she wanted to be close to Noctis when he was to marry Lunafreya. It felt more like flirting, than just pure interest in having a friendship.

She was too much "little girl."

I already saw the bros fan art by accident (coz someone messaged it to me) and it was... Something else. -_-

Iris had the best voice acting in the game...

And I took that scene as a her being coy and flirty, because she acts quite different when she's around her brother and the rest of the party. She's obviously into Noct, but the game never beats you over the head with it, and I actually appreciate that approach.

I just can't get enough of Prompto freaking out in caves and dungeons.

This game, man.

the dialogue in Daurell Caverns when they start talking in rhyme had me in stitches. So many moments that reminded me of the stupid shit me and my friends do XD

take all the dungeons and spread them throughout FF13, you might have something there.

the story, or what they might have planed, was actually very good. I saw a combination of FF6, 7 and 8. they might have been able to realize the story IF they didn't fixate on creating open world.

Agreed completely! The cast in this game is one of my favorites in JRPG history.

Love when Prompto asks if the other guys believe people died in the caves, and if their ghosts are wandering around, haunting the place.

They should have done a datalog the Kingdom Hearts way. Find the Cosmogony's chapter scattered around the world and have them on a menu for whenever you want to read them. Make Ardyn's Reports that explain his side of the story, you could find them in the post game. Then you have a bestiary and a character index so you can consult who the f is Jared.

Make it fun, make it intuitive and don't use to much text.
Yeah, I REALLY wanted a datalog. Given the road trip theme, they should've made it kinda like a scrapbook or journal.

Didn't they say they were originally going to include a bestiary? Must've been cut, though

Now that I think of it, a datalog would have been a great idea to have while driving around in the Regalia. Kind of like how you can shop while driving around.

How do the Hotel rates go down? The Altissa 3x EXP one was 30k gil for me, but after I finished the game, it was 15k.

My buddy here says it's still 30k after he finished the game and has stayed in it at least once (After he finished the game)

It's your Amazon preorder DLC

The traveller DLC pack gives you half price on things like that I believe.

I LOVE the Regalia Type-F.

Can't believe we got the airship back in a numbered Final Fantasy game (non-online!).

Taking off is an incredible experience, and landing is a minigame itself!

What's both funny and remarkable about the game is that it's very close to mastering nuance. Its storytelling is subdued, subtly dramatic rather than melodramatic, anti-exposition.

The best example of this is probably the last campfire scene, with the Noctis/Luna CG post-ch. 9 being runner-up. Only thing is, it takes it so far and with such short-lived glimpses at the actual plot at times that you're just left going 'I don't feel it' a lot, lmao.

But man if the execution was a little better. If there were more scenes like that campfire scene but still sparsely shown and with proper build-up, etc. That woulda been brutally good.

YES gotta agree, love flying in this game. It's magic I tell ya..!!

The Regalia Type F has killed more men than every daemon on the planet combined.

Yup totally.

Even with the campfire scene, I thought the time that they presented it was really strange. It would have been great to have that scene between leaving hammerhead and going on to the last section of the game, I think.

To be honest, I have never crashed it, not once! I'm always extremely careful with my landing.

It reminds me of my young days while trying to land the plane in Top Gun: The Second Mission on the NES. I was a master of that. :p

I disagree, it was perfect where it was.

My Regalia Type-F got totaled because of a fucking lamp light.

What are the lamp lights made out of? Mythril?

Cracks me up every time Takka freaks out when you talk to him. I'm certain this guy is a fugitive or something.

Also, Ignis shamelessly stealing recipees from pretty much every person and restaurant we find. He just sees the plate and starts taking notes under the nose of the owner. XD

I already saw the bros fan art by accident (coz someone messaged it to me) and it was... Something else. -_-

My condolences. Would you like any more fanart recommendations?

Uh???? Talcott literally says she's hunting daemons 10 years later. How can she be a daemon if she's hunting them?

You could say the same for Prompto. Though Iris is a little bit different, as she's not a human artificially enhanced with daemonic material, but an actual cambion. Her human mother was Clarus' cousin; a minor noble living abroad, and her father was Diabolos - when the latter entered his final sleep and the former was hunted by Niflheim, Clarus adopted Iris and raised her as his own daughter. Neither she nor Gladiolus ever knew of her true lineage, but after the starscourge set in she began to struggle with powers she could not comprehend or control, isolating herself from her loved ones out of fear that she could harm them.

Takka distinctly says he's an ex-con. Shocker, they made the burly black man an ex-criminal.

I feel like at this rate, you're just trying to make benign things in this game into offensive things. >.>

Saying that a ex-mugger is now a successful businessman who runs one of the nicer looking restaurants in the game might be cliche, but I don't think its offensive.

I guess, for me, going into insomnia from hammerhead lacked some narritive weight and that scene would have given it a lot more of that.

It's best the way it is because it gives you that final reminder that your friends are indeed the best, and that despite Noctis finally accepting his fate, it really tore him that he had to separate from them after just meeting up with them after 10 years. If they had done that scene before Ch. 14 officially began, it wouldn't have been nearly as memorable.

Tbh, I probably would've rolled my eyes a little at that... Had I actually paid attention to really anything Takka had said.

I'm just curious. Where was this explained?

Son of a bitch. Just beat that level 120 Nafigar thing or whatever the fuck it's called, probably used about 20 mega phoenix, I've never been more thankful for Gladio's collecting skills! And of course no summon shows up during my longest fight in the game. >:(

Sounds like the perfect start to XV-2! :D

Whoa now that I think about it, my biggest disappointment gotta be, that Iedolas Aldercapt had almost no presence in the game at all. Before going in, I thought he would have been the major villain. I'm also disappointed in Ravus not being much more of a threat or sinister villain. In fact, I'm disappointed by most of the wasted potential all the side characters had.

I don't think it's necessarily "offensive," that's not the word I would use actually. Although I could see why someone, especially someone who's black, might find it so.

I did think it was a complete cliche though and found my eyes rolling into the back of my head when he was explaining his backstory. It just seemed symptomatic of the cheap and poor writing found within the game ¯|_(ツ)_|¯

did the crystal purge the demons at the end of this game or did it just restore daylight?

if its the former did it super kill prompto?

Both, Prompto isn't a Daemon. its more likely he was a clone that was meant to become a daemon but never did/

Oh sure, I can agree to that. Cliche and a weirdly cheap way to give him some sense of backstory :P

Even if you don't care for Luna as a character, her CGI scene of her passing the ring on to Noct is a damn work of art. You'd have to have a heart of stone to not elicit at least a tiny feel during that piece.

That hasn't been explained with any degree of certainty. He could be Verstael's actual son, he could be a clone; he could have only been tagged but not experimented on, he could have undergone some kind of procedure separate to the regular MT program. With everything as ambiguous as it is, I think it's plausible to believe that he could have died with the purge.
