Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

My understanding is that its up to the crystal to choose,Noct's bloodline wasn't legit at first.

Plus,Noct cleansed the world at the end.So maybe he exhausted the crystal and that's the end of the scourge & conflict in that world.

What makes you say they weren't first? I've seen this idea thrown around, but haven't seen it backed up. It seems more likely to me that both Noctis and Ardyn are from the same line.

Watched a stream today where the guy got done with a sealed dungeon, then accidently started his Regalia take off while inside a tunnel. Took him way back into the dungeon XD

Regalia type F - True end boss.

Has it been discussed already that Noctis didn't leave an heir? Is that it? Is the Lucis Caelem bloodline over? Should've Noct up Iris when he had the chance. God knows she wanted it.

Got almost all the way through the Pitioss Ruins (a rage inducing four hours mixed with admiration for the level design in places) and then it glitched and started me back at the beginning.

When I think about it, Noct and Iris actually had a little chemistry, right down to Noct being like "pretend you're interested in what she's saying right now" kind of date poker face.

With Luna, the game just kinda tells you that they are super close and tries to reinforce that with flashbacks to the same exact meeting when they were like 6 years old. And.. well... we know how that ends.

With all the shortcuts and doors relocked? Dang that sucks.

Also Gladio forces you to go out with him to pick flowers to Noct to give to her. Best pairing 2016.

No, they all seem to be intact but aside from the doors, the shortcuts pretty much stopped after that first main room so I have to do the rage inducing zero-G segment and everything after that all over again.

Even in the car when you first bring her with, you can see them looking at each other, pushing each other, her random trivia spewing to try and fill in the silence. It was stuff like that which made her inclusion seem good (not to mention she kicks ass and heals).

I dont know honestly.

I don't have a 100% solid grasp on the prehistory of the game.

Izunia was the family that took over, linked in with the sphere then changed assumed the name Lucis Caelum ?

What I really want is a dlc episode focused on her in Tenebrae. It will give us an excuse to explore the place and maybe even have battles? Luna looks like she can fight so I don't see why not. Maybe there could be more screentime with her attendant Gentiana too. It would be great.

That would be awesome!

We also need:

-Glauca boss battle

-Ravus and Aldercapt story/cinematics - exactly what happened to them

-A Gold Saucer type of place set in a large, new city

-All summons usable during the main game as well as adding new summons, new weapons, new quests, new outfits, new small towns, new recipes and new mini-games.

That's not actually stated though, all he says is that his name is Lucis Caelum, and implied that the name Izunia had some significance and relation to his past. I'd like to think Izunia was the (first) name of the King who ostracized him and was chosen after him by the gods, and also happened to be Noctis's direct ancestor. Both Ardyn and Noctis's being part of the same line of Kings just seems to fit better for me.

I watched my roommate (big FF fan) beat the game tonight. He seemed to like the game, but was a bit confused with the story (or lack thereof in some parts). He said he didn't really feel much closure because so much wasn't really explained in detail. I couldn't disagree with him as I feel the same way. FFXV had the potential to have a really fantastic story (the ideas are really great honestly), but the execution missed the mark. :( The bros themselves really save the game somewhat. If their chemistry/relationship wasn't so good, the story would have felt even worse.

Has any other final fantasy finished like this? When the boys showed up I burst into tears. They were really brothers to the end. Very bittersweet.

Basically anything Tabata gets his hands on.

FFXV is like hearing a great story explained by someone with memory loss, who tends to easily get sidetracked. :(

Ignis: "Prompto has been turned into a frog..."

Noctis: "What the hell are you talking about?!"

Ignis: "Well, that's a ribbit-ting turns of events..."

The WAY Ignis delivers the last line. Holy shit.

Hahahaha!! Man, I fucking missed stuff like this from Final Fantasy. XII and XIII sure took a toll on me. This game was sent from the Heavens. :)

Ignis's English voice actor has really grown on me. Originally I hated it, especially in the trailers because it was just so juxtaposed to the other 3 but I've grown to like the tone of voice he consistantly keeps. it makes the scenes where he loses his cool carry a little more weight.

(also he's like the spirit of Balthier )

He's the best one by far.

He delivers on humor, sterness, drama, sorrow. Its a multi-faceted,very smooth performance.

I see.

Makes sense.

Dungeon of Pitioss is killing me right now. D:

I'm at the 2D platformer part...this is pure platformer hell, the whole damn thing. Its been two hours me and a friend are slowly progressing through it, it's midnight and I work tomorrow. -_-

How did anyone actually like Ignis? His whole character was generic British Butler trope. Aside from one scene after he's blinded and he decides to fight on, there's literally nothing else to his character. Like, even a Tales series character would be more memorable and unique.

Finished Pitioss. Five hours of hell and I don't even get a trophy for it? Man, I'm pissed. It's brilliantly made but it feels like the dudes who came up with the design and the dudes who worked on Noct's controls weren't conferring with each other. Way too many bullshit deaths just because Noct went barreling over a small ledge whenever I tried to adjust him.

He is likable because of everything he does for Noctis and the boys. He's the one cooking and coming up with new dishes everytime they camp out. He's the one to take the wheel when Noctis or you don't feel like it. He also kept going even when blinded, an inury that would have set anyone aback.

The one who's dislikable is Gladious. What personal matter did he attend to when he had to leave the boys? And it was frustrating with him being all upset during the last part of the game.

He has a dry sense of humor, the best abilities ,comes up with new recipes, drives you everywhere and gets the biggest character development compared to Gladio & Prompto.

What's not to like ? :P

Aside from gameplay elements I mean. Gladiolus is God awful but at least he makes me hate him. With Ignis, I just forget he even exists. Prompto is the only one of the cast that I feel like could stand up among other final fantasy casts. Ignis is Penello tier worthless.

He's kinda boring, as is Gladio. Prompto is really the only character who feels vaguely human (mostly thanks to that one optional scene at the inn). The other two are two-dimensional tropes with occasionally amusing banter.

Iris in general, while following the "little sister"-trope, is still a much more interesting character

What's a Penelo.

Seriously, Penelo and Vaan are as exciting as the Warrior of Light and Onion Knight (FFIII NES).

Finally beat the game and I will say the best part of this game is the interaction between the 4. I wish the whole game was more focused on their releationships and without the wacky stuff. After the Leviathan fight it felt like they put the game on speed mode and rushed you to the finish.

Also whoever came up with the idea for chapter 13 played way to much of Rocksteadys Batman. That chapter was by far the worst thing in the entire game. It felt like Joker kept repeating the same lines over and over to me.

Story finished nicely and the Ifrit fight was sweet. Just wish you could actually summon the summons.

Overall though I would of thrown everything out after the Leviathan battle and gone in a totally different story path.

Rankings for me personally of the FFs that I have finished.

7,6,10,9,5,15,8

This game has so much potential could of been a legit great one. But it just falls short with that 2nd half of the game.

Just beat the game.

I had hoped we got to kill Iris.

That reminds me, iirc when you swing at one of the bros they retort something like 'Watch out," or whatever and Noct goes, "Didn't mean to do that" or "hand slipped" which is pretty funny, but does Iris say anything if you do that?

I imagine 25 year old Iris looking sort of like Tifa from Advent Children. They're both fist fighters, even.
