Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

4 summons can be summoned in the open world. Shiva, Ramuh, Leviathan, and Titan.
Ifrit is not summonable
Bahamut is only summonable in that ifrit fight.

sorry to disappoint :(

Only acquired and summoned at the end of the game. So no, you don't have Bahamut in the past where you play after the ending.

Oh, I never thought about that. Can't believe this, and Bahamut is so awesome in FF XV =(

Just started the Leviathan set piece again and I've noticed two things:

1. The fight is much more impeessive if you do nothing and just watch Leviathan attacking you. lol
2. Noctis can swim in this scene!!! I didn't notice it the first time because I never fell into the water.

Oh and the music is still just pure epicness.

The platforms in Costlemark are random, three of them are traps one of them is real. Which one is which gets picked at random when you enter the dungeon. The first time I went in the first two platforms I entered were traps leading to large fights. I then left and came back later, this time the 2nd one ended up being the real one leading to Jabberwock.

Also if you guys got lost in Costlemark then I don't know how to tell you about Pitioss dungeon.
Well, getting lost in Costlemark didn't prevent me from clearing Pitioss.

I don't get why they didn't include that child Noctis stuff from the demo.

They designed a whole unutilised area.

It's really clear that that would have been the tutorial. Which as replaced with that crappy room tutorial with pictures on the wall.

Do y'all think it was because of focus testers not liking a slow start?

Funny because I barely used magic, perhaps a total of 4 times and I fought while it was on cool down. Majority of my damage came from team attacks and techniques (which I also used for invincibility frames and also to get away from the boss safely i.e. Ignis' regroup) ...combine with burst damage via arminger. I also used a summon which chipped about about 10-15% of its health.

To be fair, I did all of those things too. It doesn't change the fact that magic heavily outclasses melee in this game, which is why it was still the main source of my damage.

Magic is extremely powerful. I nuked bosses with Triplecast Aga spells. Tier 4, Flare, Electo and Freeze break the damage limit.

My ranking changes every week but as of now after just finishing XV

VI > VII > VIII > X > IV > IX > XIII > XV > XII > III

Still not played V, I or II. And not finished III or IX yet. III I found dead boring though so yeah probably won't.

Everything above XII I rate 9/10 or higher with VI & VII 10/10 games.

Hoping the FFXII remaster will lift it up. I am convinced I was a kid looking for a different game when I played XII...it might get a huge lift next year.

So yes XV is still 9/10 for me.

I just love the whole series LOL!

What? there's tier 4? How?

Using certain items with Crafting.

You can get 3 Zu Beak from Zu. You can make a handful of tier 4 spells with it.

If you play the slot machine in Altissia to 99 chests, you get the Wind up thing item that I sold for 500k, but you can make a shitload of Tier 4 spells with it also. There are more items like these.

Photography level 9, Survival level 8...so close yet so far.

The annoying thing about photography is that if I don't want to spend another 20 hours to rank up one level I have to use techniques to take photo mid fight. This means I have to sacrifice the tech bar as well as Prompto's Piercer for stupid photos.

As for survival...I'm just going to leave my console running overnight with rubber band attached to analogues.

Speaking of DLC, I believe these are the confirmed content:

"Booster Pack" (DLC #1)
"Episode Gladiolus" (DLC #2)
"Holiday Pack" (DLC #3)
"Episode Ignis" (DLC #4)
"Episode Prompto" (DLC #5)
"Expansion Pack" (DLC #6)

Although what is in the Expansion Pack? Anyone want to take a wild guess?

Wow, thanks for the tips. The visual effects of the tier 4 spells are different from the tier 3?

The difference is minimal. Thats what I'm most disappointed in. I think Fira and Firaga are kind of samey as well. Flare is not really more epic, it just deals above 9999 damage.

I feel XV was far inferior to XIII for me especially in narrative/story/characters. It lacked a huge amount of ambition in its setting, lore and mythology compared to that game (and tbh I had felt this right from 2008 when XIII's new trailer showed me a far more creative world than whatever 'wannabee cool dark' stuff Versus trailers were shoving onto us). XIII felt like it had a deep narrative behind it...even if the main story ended up being mediocre in comparison. Next XIII's characters whilst lacked the instant likeability and chemistry XV's had...I feel like they all went through more arcs and had more happen to them in the story. Plus diversity...

Then compared to all other FF's higher than it...add what I said about XIII and much much more.

I beat the game today.

I really enjoyed the ending and the campfire scene where Noctis broke down to the rest of the party.

I actually teared up during that scene.

I think the game really succeeded in building the relationships of the main four such that the end where they have to depart had real weight to it.

I'm sitting here right now and just feel a bit empty. I spent around 61-62 hours playing the game, and reaching the end like that, I really wish that Noctis would have lived but I guess it would diminish the decision he made knowing what would happen. He made his peace.

Also am I the only one that thought the final ending scene was almost a copy of Titanic's ending?

I mean all they needed to add was people clapping LOL!!!!

That ending... So only Noctis is dead? Not the bros? Or did they die once Noctis left to the throne?

I'm not that satisfied with the ending or overall story. Missing pieces. Figured something would be in the archive... But nope, there's no "diary" type of feature. Kinda feel XIII was better with the story front, as much as I don't want to prefer that over this.

Love the bros either way though.

Would like to see Ardyn's story in more detail. A robbed guy that turns savage is always great. But... Why did he wait for Noctis and not act generations prior? Or am I to just accept it was the right time for action?

Probably not, they just had to survive until Noctis dies.

waiting for that post-game Kagari post

I'd say the story of FFXIII is complete and characters were drawn out but it's convoluted, contains annoying and cringey characters, and badly explained. FFXV was easier to follow and was understandable but there are many glaring holes, lack of characterization, and still badly explained.

So pick your poison, really.

The empty camp chairs in the final ending scene I interpret to mean the bros died too protecting noctis from those iron giants so that he could complete his focus.

No real epilogue about how the world change after that was pretty frustrating but I guess considering they didn't explore the World of Ruin, it's not surprising.

Bros died too. You see them in the afterlife with Noctis when they confront Ardyn.

(ノ`Д´)ノ彡┻━┻

I think that's supposed to be where they camped out during the mid-credits scene.

I think the remaining 3 party members are still alive imo.

Open to interpretation then, I guess. I suppose it could go either way if they decided on XV-2. Watch Noctis return at that. I would not be surprised! He was a decent main character and thankfully not a mopey emo Prince.

Where's Adamantoise by the way? Haven't done many hunts so I assume it'll come up there?

Edit: ah yeah they're in the afterlife bit. Forgot.

Why was the scene of the regalia being destroyed given more weight than every death in the game? Various characters dying off screen and the car gets a mournful camera pan lol

I hate that I hate this game....immediately put it back in the UCE box once complete....put it on Ebay.....and these last 2 days I've really really wanted to get it out and play more. Why, dear lord, why? It makes no sense.

It was emotional because Noctis connected the car to his father. The loss of the car was another piece of his father he lost. At least that is what they were going for, and it was a complete flop of an attempt for too many reasons to count.
Working on my full review. I wanted to mess around in the bonus dungeon some but trying to land the damn airship is completely broken.
I assumed you just decided it wasn't worth your time and screw it. I still eagerly await!

Bros died too. You see them in the afterlife with Noctis when they confront Ardyn. Regis and Luna are there too.

Ahh well this confirms it thanks.

------

A more fleshed out backstory of Ardyn with flashbacks was much needed.

Also how cool would it be if Luna & Gentiana had been a party and we could've gone around awakening the summons with them? Perhaps their mode of travel could've been flying. We could have cut back and forth between them and Noct/Bro's. Would've also been like FFVI's split parties.

Just thinking of more ways this could've been a wholesome experience. Then it would've been cool for them all to join as one party in Altissa before the summoning. Then Luna's death would've felt sooooo much worse

Mate just went through some of your post history to look for your review post but to no avail! So I see you are yet to make it.

Don't keep us waiting for 10 years.
