Final Fantasy XV SPOILER THREAD

Iris and Noctis have an amazing post-link animation. She hits him on the head during the attack and afterwards he starts rubbing it and looking at her like "wtf?" And she does the sorry sorry motion and he does an "oh you" pat on the head. I saved a video of it, will try to gif it tomorrow night.

Also, I'm honestly disappointed that the final words in that last scene weren't "I love you."

Noctis' direct words in the JP version are "omaera suki dawa" (as I recall, anyway) which can be translated directly as "I love you guys." I find the English version to be better though. It conveys the same emotions that are there in the JP version while adding a little more.

Wow I really regret the hours I put into this with that ending. Noct and Luna were in love? Noct cared for his dad? We were supposed to know who all those blue ghost people were?

So many questions.

Ardyn was the endgame?! Just normal human Ardyn!? Zipping around what I'm assuming was the city... but he gets swords too!? With the worst battle mechanic in the world, can't even tell if we're hitting each other or not... Someone help me. I didn't even have to heal to beat him. SOMEONE HELP, HOW DID THIS HAPPEN. What is FF anymore!? I can't believe how bad that was.

Bring back Lightning. Give Lightning and Aranea their own game.

OH GOD Lightning Returns was more fun. SOMEONE HELP.

What?! Why did they change that? Do they think American men are that insecure, that they'd freak out over him saying that?

I like the change, its more subtle and goes more with how the west would phrase it with a group of friends or brothers. It gives the same meaning.

I really hope they can flesh out the story with DLC. The game from chapter 1-9 was awesome.

I think this is the heaviest I have felt attached to a set of FF characters since FFIX.

The Ardyn fight itself wasnt that bad. But I would have perfered some sort of darkness monstrosity.

The ghost people were the old kings of Lucis. Did you not watch Kingsglaive?

The part about the ending bit changing is false. I played the English dub and had the full scene play out with Noctis standing.

I have no idea how it actually changes.

That's my guess. Toxic masculinity at its worst.

Lame.

Anyone else really disappointed by the summons in this game?

1. We only had one true trail, that was with Titan. They were too lazy to make ones for Ramuh, Shiva, Carbuncle, Bahamut.
2. Ifrit fight was decent.
3. Gentiana as Shiva was so cheesy. If Ardyn was secretly Ifrit – now THAT would have been interesting.
4. The way you get to use the summons. I don't like it being random, I don't like having to hold L2 for so long.

I feel like they planned to have a trial for every summon but just ran out of time.

Wait, did I miss something key in the cutscenes after fighting on top of the moving train, where there's this huge buildup of creatures that swarms it, and then it just cuts and your sitting on a train platform. I have to have missed the point of that scene.

Levi comes out and kills them

He also says "kings of lucis, come to me" and they come, and we even see his dad even turns into one and stabs him dead.

That was his dad? I thought it was a girl! They should have just used the regular king Regis model. I would have been much more emotionally invested.

I thought those big 3 looming giants were the kings of lucis. But then there's like a whole gang of dudes that start stabbing him...?

Yeah, the kings of lucis are the 13 knights of the round, but its not explained well in game. Maybe a line or two at best.

Yeah, his dad was the last one because he was hesitant, as a father and as the last king of Lucis.

Unrelated: I love suffering as much as the next youngish adult afflicted by the ills of post modern anxiety, but I'm pretty tired of just having everyone die at the end of Final Fantasy games. Is this Square's idea of a sequel safeguard? "We can't make a sequel if they're dead"
"NO WAIT. WE CAN." Who even takes over Lucius now? Do they become a democracy? Does Noctis have a 2nd cousin waiting in the wings?

Sounds like you need to watch Kingsglaive.

i can't get over how much the dawn trailer intrigued me :(

even though it was luna getting choked out, it atleast hinted at deeper lore and information about her

Just finished it.

I liked the game, I'd give it like 7/10 - but man the story just doesn't work. The ending was decent but I never had feels like I did in CC when Zack was killed.

There's just too many unearned moments and things they do offscreen/don't explain. Sad to say it, but the game should have had another year in development to flesh out the story because i don't really understand how I'm supposed to care about any of these characters when the game doesn't spend enough time building those relationships outside of the main 3 team members.

Why go to the trouble of giving Luna one of the best voice actors in the game if they're just gonna off her though.

I thought she was bottom tier, along with Gladio honestly. She was so monotone and deadpan the whole time, and as a Brit the plummy accent did NOT help (still not as bad as Ignis' tho, lol).

Damn, I played in Japanese and her voice in that is pretty trash, too! I was genuinely surprised! Both young and adult Luna had terrible sounding VA, personally.

Did someone get why Luna was in such terrible health? Was it because she was an Oracle and the Summons where killing her, for whatever reason, or was she sick?

I think it's said/implied that when the Oracle heals they take the darkness into their own body.

Which is what Ardyn did. And I'm guessing is what made him so powerful and immortal once he was denied ascension.

What isn't really explained is why didn't Noctis and co not know this or show that they knew. Because even Luna's mother was an Oracle.

The campaign of this game depressed me... and not because I was emotionally invested, but because it was underwhelming as hell... The amount of content that feels dijointed astounds me, as well as the stuff they have removed for DLC purposes.

Character motives go down the drain, the world isnt fleshed out at all, its just disappointing.

From the moment you go to Altissia everything starts to fuck up entirely. You go to this big city that we have been seeing so many years now, and there is NOTHING compelling to explore. There are no quests whatsoever, there is only that arena bullshit, you literally visit this whole city just for 1 mission. I honestly dont understand why they made it such a big place... they didnt utilize anything about the place. Its just walking, watching pretty graphics and thats it. Hell, Crow's Nest rest areas have more things to do than Altissia... you can at least play some kind of minigame there lol.

Then you hope into that god damned train and that is where the real shit begins... you see an entirely new and huge map and start thinking that you will now get to explore this new continent as well... bullshit. Have fun stopping at train stations. And all would be maybe ok if the story was any good, but no, its even worse. Character shifts all over the place, events that happen outside of the players view...

whatever.

The ending is spectacular, but i could never resonate with any of the characters to be emotionally invested about it.

Honestly I prefer the open world mindless questing than this mess of an excuse as a story.

Beat the game, sweet got the airship!

*Takes off*

Me: "There's that spot I assumed you can only get to with the airship"

*descends*

*bounce*

Prompto: "Rain."

Game Over

Me: "..."

Me: "Yes Promto, rain."

No that's not quite right.
Ardyn is not an Oracle.
The reason Luna's health diminished is because getting the Astrals to give the blessing the true king basically starts killing her.

You can play Justice monsters and do hunts in Altissia.
Also, can't you fight that painting? idk

k

Ahh okay, it's still weird.

Luna asking the Summons to give the King their blessing (for what again? I mean, itwasn't once mentionend that he couldn't controll the the Crystall without the Summons) and the Summons are like "okay, but for asking us we are gonna kill you!

The only positives I can muster for this game:

- Graphics/performance
- Umbra (cuz Luna is too old-school for cell phones)
- Enemy design
- Random magitek drop ships / Aranea ally battles
- The ocarina-of-time time jump into apocalypse Galdin Quay

Then what was he was he was doing when he was going around healing people before the jealous king betrayed him?

He was the one chosen by the Astrals, he absorbed the daemons inside him and ended the plague of stars for good..for which he became a hero. The jealous king didn't betray him, betray implies that he had his trust in the first place. But that long just got jealous and demonised him, took his name and also received the favour of the Astrals.

Oracle on the other hand keeps the plague at bay.
