Finally saw Cabin Fever

Haha WTF?!

That was one of the worst horror films I've seen in a long time, in a so-bad-it's-good kinda way. The old shop owner, Dennis, the screwdriver, the harmonica... :lol :lol

Too bad about Marcy getting torn up by that dog, though :(

I love horror movies and have a pretty high tolerance for them, so it takes a very powerful strain of suck for me to hate one (like The Ring Two) and I pretty much hated Cabin Fever. The whole thing just came off so silly and I couldn't believe someone greenlit a script with such excessive use of the f-word. Not that I'd a swearing prude or anything, but it got to the point of just being ridiculous and distracting.

Usually when I see a movie I either love or hate, I like to hop over to IMDB's boards and read what others thought about it. There I learned it was actually meant to be somewhat of a parody/satire and the whole thing kind of clicked for me. I'd probably really enjoy it now if I watched it again knowing that.

Yeah that movie was just brutal. And I think it was trying to be scary and it just failed miserably.

Cabin Fever is a movie that if you don't get what Eli Ross was trying to do and what he references, you probably won't like it, and even genre knowledge doesn't guarantee you'll like it.

I thought it was hilarious and gross in all the right places and while it wandered a bit too far in the end, I thank Eli Ross for having the balls to make something probably only 30 people really enjoyed and look forward to what he'll do next.

PANCAKES! PANCAKES!

:lol

I came into this thread for the express purpose of saying that, but you stole my thunder. :p I've still never heard a satisfactory explanation of what that ("pancakes") meant, by the way. Anyone know?

The weed dude was my favourite. And Rider Strong nailing that deer was just odd, but funny in some sick sort of way.

I wont try to assign any kind of deep meaning to Cabin Fever.

But for me, it was just a bad movie that keeps you interested enough to watch it all the way through. So, I guess that is saying something.

But you could get away with using that to explain away any bad movie.

Was The Ring 2 a parody of the first?

I really liked the movie...I don't really know why though, I guess I share Willco's thoughts.

I especially liked how
everybody died in the end, I love it when movies have a bad ending

There were some really good skin crawling moments, but it didn't freak me out nearly as much as I thought it would. I don't even think my little sisters were scared, and that says something.

*sigh*Most of you are just like my friend. How can you watch that movie and actually think it was supposed to be scary? It's so obvious that it wasn't.

I think the biggest problem with that was the critic quotes they used to pump up the movie really did try to sell it as a horror movie, not as Scary Movie #4.
