Finding an IP address through AIM?

I'm talking to someone who I have some doubts with, and I'd like to check their IP address to see if they really are local. Of course, this needs to be done discretely, so does anyone know how to do it through AIM?

I imagine I'd have to directly connect (which might raise a flag in itself). Can anyone help?

Directly connect to a user

open command prompt

netstat -n

see which IPs are connected to you via port 5190 (default AIM port)

Or you can send them to a forum where a buddy or you reside (as admin) and have them peek at the IP.

I can give you a hand with the forum approach if you want. Hit me up on AIM. :)
