I thought my team was already formidable with Ryoma, Linde, Takumi and Hector but my poor soul and hands were still itching to pull Azura.

I had 29 orbs remaining and the chance to get Azura is soooo slim since she's a 5* based unit and not on the current focus banner but I said 'fuck it, let's just try one pull'

I pressed summon... Two red orbs, ONE blue, one colorless, and one green. Goddammit!!

I picked one red orb first.. Got a scrub.. No problem.

Then the blue orb next..

(the rewards on those quests are crests to promote a character from 4* to 5*)

the rewards are completely besides the point, the point is making progress in these quests can only be achieved by having extreme luck, not just by getting a color-specific unit.

The point is I cannot complete that quest without either having huge luck or just straight out paying, that is terrible design made to throw money at the game. It is worrisome.

I find that getting the Badges is Very easy from the Training totums.

Going for the 'Hard' group gave me different colored badges. I retrieved them from each of those three options. Different days would give me different colored badges. I stopped worrying about them after I noticed this on a couple of separate days--though perhaps that was only from luck.

Not sure what you're okaying about. My only 5 star mage at the moment is a green Merric. So the only way I can use Hector in my main team is to go Mageless or blue lanceless. My main team is all 40 so I'll put him in a team of 20s just for the sake of leveling.

Mine is still 4 stars, but she seems very good so far. She ruins Infantry with her skill, feels like a discount Takumi.

I'll have to get her higher level so I can try in the arena to know for sure, but she seems strong.

Yeah she gets the job done, wondering if she becomes an absolute beast with 5 stars. I also have Gaius and Matthew 4 stars though.

Upgraded Nino to five stars. On one hand, I should've upgraded Sharena instead - higher stats total and I don't have a five stars blue.

On the other hand, Nino's drawback + boosts adding up to her weapon's power are the most fun I've had with this game yet, so I'm all in on this train. I actually finally cleared 9-2 Lunatic when I said "screw it" and I used my level 26 four stars Nino with a level 20 Olivia and a level 38 Tharja. She has ridiculous power and draw back versus armor knights is pretty much gg.

I'll do Sharena next, getting feathers isn't too hard with the Arena.

2 full pulls with the new banner, no 5 stars. I did get a second 4 star Marth to merge so that's something I guess.

that is good to know, I'm no expert in gacha games, but so far FEH seems to be following the others trend, like FFBE. Hopefully it is just a non-issue

FEH is a straight up gacha. Most of the trends in FFBE can be found in similar games because they want you to pull and spend. Developers don't want people hoarding currency that's needed to pull because that means you're never going to spend actual money if you have 300 orbs saved up.

Banner units giving extra rewards in corresponding events is absolutely nothing new. FEH doesn't have gear or anything of that like, so it's not like it really matters what they put behind that. No one is going to cry for measly badges you can get by playing through the game normally.

Now if they start introducing characters behind other character you need to pull first, then yeah, that would be stupid, but it still wouldn't be the first time it has happened in a game like this.

I have spent nothing. And if i completed all remaining hard and lunatic missions i could summon 10 more heroes. However i still havnt got a single 5 star hero and im not sure how viable the end game missions will be without one. Im tempted to stop playing even though i really like the gameplay a lot. If there was no stamina meter i would prob just be happy grinding away but as it is, when the half price training mission stop its going to be rediculous lvling characters up past 25 or so.

Not really sure this game needs a stamina meter. Without one people would grind more and once they lvl everyone be tempted to pay to get more heroes.

I think game has shown me how well a srpg can work on a phone and wish there was a pay once game of its visual and gameplay quality.

I dont mind paying money into ftp games but i almost always only do it when it stuff i know what im buying (cosmetics, characters etc). Random pulls puts me off entirely spending cash in that way.

Hard to say. If they just straight give Ragnell 1-2 range, they'll probably weaken it a lot to make up for it. I think they're trying to avoid giving anyone the ability to attack both at close range and long range for the moment deliberately.

He'll definitely at least have hectors ranged counter skill though.

If you're just doing PvE I suspect you can get very far especially with specialist characters. If you're doing arena then with the current system 5*s have a large advantage.

I'm not convinced the chapter 9 lunatics are doable without any 5*s or using light blessings, but other than that, you probably can get through everything else.

The drop rates are better than a lot of gatcha titles.

Arena and anything competitive in gacha games will always be fundamentally pay to win. So yeah, if part of fun is doing well relative to others then yeah it won't be.

I think he's in a really over-crowded spot sadly.

There's just no reason to use him over all the other solid red swordsman units. Shove is cool, but not enough.

He's sadly the first to to be benched from my team.

I've played it before (whenever it 1st came out) and the gamecube one.

I might start a new save file on normal/casual cause I was pretty lost as to what the hell I was doing with my team.

Such is the way of gatcha. Sorry to hear. I'm strictly ftp but have had ridiculously good luck with pulls in comparison to others (sorry for the brag). I know I'm lucky not just from other people's pulls posted but also prior experience with these gatcha nightmares. Mind you, I did re-roll for days without a single 5* before getting 2 in one pull. You could do this and restart to get a the guts of a good endgame team going. Either this or, if you do enjoy the gameplay, just be content to clear up normal,hard and some lunatic missions until you get a good pull or some strong event unit down the line. We've already had Olivia given out for free which has been auto-include for many people.

I definitely get you about the random pulls and money. I'm certainly not above it. I've put cash into other gatchas I was heavily invested in and inevitably felt like crap if I didn't roll anything decent. It can be a slippery slope from just throwing in a few bucks until you get a could pull, then some time passes and you realise you could've bought a full FE game and your best units have been hit by power creep.

Sorry if this came of as condescending. It's just that I've been in this boat before hitting frustrating luck walls when you really enjoy the actual gameplay. Oh Terra Battle

Stamina costs aren't going up, half cost has been extended indefinitely.

Man. I'm ever going to get a good pull again. My team is 5* Robin, 4* Camilla, 4*Catria and 4* Cain. I got Robin on my initial roll, and Camilla the second time, and have gotten nothing since then. I'd love Azura and Lucina to switch out with Catria and Cain.

Fucking grats man, this is my most wanted unit right now. That's a great pickup for a lot of team compositions. Hopefully your luck has an effect on me when I do some more pulls.

I've been having a real shit of a time playing while leveling and playing arena with no healer, so I put Sakura back in my lineup and haven't lost a match yet. I don't know why I fell for the no-healer meta meme. I've always been a cautious type of strategy player, no sense in forcing a new playstyle when that one works for me.

I'm still up for suggestions on which healer to 5* first. Clarine or Sakura. I know Wrys is supposedly the best, but I'm not having that ballsack looking dude on my team. Plus he offers zero offense when sometimes having that ranged attack will mean defeat or victory.

No doubt, and like I said, posting what you got is great. I just didn't like the screenshots themselves. But turns out, not an issue thanks to our GAF overlords!

But I do admit that seeing people's posts can induce me to do a pull or three myself. Double edged sword if you are trying to hold onto your gems.
