I gotta be honest, your answer is not very helpful. I was asking a sincere question. Replying with "Ummmm" and then an out-of-context GIF and no other information doesn't really help me find an answer. What is that GIF from? It looks like a video game? Is it a movie? Is there somewhere that I can see more of that in higher quality to make a better judgement?
Since when has CW had a budget? Kind of weird seeing them chane from a low rent network (UPN) to what looks like showing some damn good stuff on network tv

Pilots can sometimes have bigger budgets because they're made as a one off episode. That trailer looks like it's comprised entirely of scenes from the pilot episode, so things could potentially look cheaper once the actual season starts since they'll then have a single budget for everything over the course of the whole season.
I remember when arrow was announced I laughed and thought man looked shit after trailer.
Turned out be one my favourite shows just being fun and embracing it comic book roots. I'm ready for Flash do the same to me and I did enjoy the spot he had on arrow
So this new origin has Professor Zoom responsible for killing Barry's mom? I think they've done this before, but through time-travel shenanigans. Prof Zoom can't exist before The Flash was created, so I assume time travel shenanigans will happen in the show as well.
Ward being uninteresting, Tahiti, and Skye's parents are all central to the entire seasonal Arc and they intertwine quite well with the Post-TWS MCU. The show was slow because it was building brand new characters as opposed to going with established characters and skipping the origin stuff. Arrow technically doesn't skip the origin but it's use of flashbacks enabled them to jump into the action right away while still giving out the backstory bit by bit. It's a great technique but it's one that can't be used in every show.
Central, yes, but being not compelling? You're arguing the show was trying to be bad at first? I was in the AoS thread when the show was taking the most heat in the beginning, and every time someone said "I wish there more crossovers" someone was ready to counter saying the show's real problems were the writing and the characters. So which is it? Was the bad because it was in a shared universe that prevented crossover, or was it just actually a poorly written and acted show? I'm inclined to believe it was the latter, which has little to do with it being in a shared universe.
And it doesn't ignore the differences. The differences are plain to see. MCU has combined TV and Film and DC hasn't. If DC had intended to combine TV and Movies from the start, we wouldn't have The Flash and Arrow. We'd have like.. Teen Titans or Young Justice at best (which I wouldn't be mad at all for what it's worth).
But that's an assumption based on assuming WB would have done things exactly as Marvel Studios. Which is the same fallacy we always make in these discussions: assuming the way Marvel did it is the only way anyone can do it.
And I meant the differences from a story standpoint. A show about the organization that put the Avengers together and is central to many of the events in the MCU is very different from shows that follow the exploits of two heroes in a world full of them.
Yes but other than having the same Actors playing Flash/Arrow/Batman/etc... there would be no synergy between the mediums. They may as well be two separate universes in that case. That was actually a complaint I saw leveled at AoS early on. Was that there wasn't enough crossover between the movies and the show other than name dropping people and events. What you're talking about in your last paragraph would be exactly that.
Not necessarily. For example, what if Barry can't be in Central City during a criminal break out or some other disaster because he's in the events of JLA? When I say that the shows and movies don't have to interfere with each other, I mean mainly in the sense of character usage, which is what the conversation normally focuses on.
It's a complicated process to be sure, but the assumption that it's automatically going to ruin the shows because the writers won't be able to tell stories anymore is a tad too much for my taste.
I think him being Clyde is just the standard "we're waiting to give him his name." Since Flash likely won't be offing characters left and right, I'm sure we'll see him again.
For everything that made it look good, there was something that made it look godawful. They aren't holding back on the cringe I see, I'm ok with cheese, but goddamn lol. Some of that dialogue is just imposing.
Anwyay, I might check it out if I can get into Arrow.
That extended trailer was fucking awesome. The close-up shots of him running look stupid as fuck but all the other action scenes, running scenes and special effects (when he stops the tornado) look surprisingly brilliant.
Can't fucking wait now.
Oh and even in a cameo Oliver still destroys the scenes with swag. Green Arrow is god tier.
Arrow showrunners are not fucking around, they know that comic book geeks will be the driving force that will promote this show. They aim to satisfy comic book fans first, and then to add CW/TV elements in the show to make it appealing to the rest.
While refreshing myself up on Prof Zoom backstory, I found this snippet for Flashpoint and thought it was hilarious:
Zoom later reveals he escaped from prison as his body was permanently connected to the Speed Force, enabling him to create the negative version of it. He plans to ruin Barry's life. It is revealed he was unable to alter Barry becoming the Flash as that would erase him from existence, which he discovers when he nearly phases from existence when attempting to stop the chemicals spilling over Barry when he hopes to become the only Flash ever by making this his origin. Realizing that he is unable to erase Barry without erasing himself, with his actions merely causing the lightning bolt to pass through him and strike the chemicals that triggered the transformation, Zoom decides to ruin Barry's life during childhood, removing his best friend from existence to make Barry more introverted, stalking Barry and doing minor things to annoy him like making him miss ball-catches, and killing his mother.

The Extended Trailer gave me all the hype I need. The special effects are great for a CW budget show and the storytelling looks more like a comic book brought to life than even Arrow. Can't wait for this show.
There is one thing that bugs me though. In the trailer there is a quick new flash that mentions Keystone. However in Arrow it was mentioned that Barry worked in Central City. I know that in the comics (SPOILER!)
Keystone and Central City are two different cities in separate dimensions where both the original and main Flash were superheroes in
Wow, who would think that CW is going to have a series that I'm excited next season the most. Ext. trailer looked amazing, Constantice or Gotham looks like shit compared to this, still can't believe it is on CW. Holy shit.
That's been a thread running through the JLA for years. Olly's differentiates himself by being a man of the people on the streets rather than an aloof hero like Batman. Many times throughout JLA history Olly has specifically gotten into altercations with Bruce because he doesn't feel Bruce does enough for the people of Gotham and instead focuses all his energy on a few nemesi.
