Official synopsis for the sequel:
"Dashing Alejandro and sultry Elena are married and have a 10-year-old son, Joaquin (Adrian Alonso), who knows nothing of his dad's secret swashbuckling identity. Besides, the missus would be thrilled if Mr. Z kept his sword sheathed once and for all. But when greedy villains threaten to halt California's statehood, it's Zorro to the rescue again."

They are shooting for an April or May 2005 release, and hopefully they'll release it in April so it won't be killed by Star Wars.

I love The Mask of Zorro...it's a good ole' fashioned super hero/serial flick with some good sword action, some funny moments, and an absolutely gorgeous Catherine Zeta Jones. Even the theme song was pretty cool...beautiful song by Marc Anthony and Tina Arena. Anthony Hopkins was a huge part of the first movie though, so hopefully the second movie won't suffer in his absence.

Zorro's identity revealed to everyone (the slave workers) at the end of the first, thus the sequel was once titled "Zorro Unmasked"...i guess they'll just pretend nobody knows who Zorro was after all.
