Ok so no one has any clue as to what the multiplayer is like?
the graphics look so good, and the gameplay so standard. Also, can you even die in this game?
Beyond Good and Evil / MC:83-87
Mirror's Edge / MC: 79-81
Ico / MC: 90
I'm sure there are some more I could pull but I think you get the point. I mean I guess it depends on your definition of "will sell" but I assume that metric would be "commercially successful". In the end, rating =/= units sold.

I'm a little blown away so many PS4 fan are on that feed just to troll. Well, i'm not surprised, but the phenomenon never makes sense to me.
Would you take this review seriously if it were a 5/10?
What do you want to know? There was a live stream a week or two ago that had round after round of multiplayer showing all the different gods and what not.
What is it like? Pvp? I saw that there might be loot involved. Is that true? Where is this video? Is there a link?
But let me reiterate my point since you obviously missed it.
Ratings generate power of mouth which in turn generate sales. Do you deny this?
This I do not if by "will sell" you mean "will be commercially successful".Thing is, if your game is rated high enough, it will sell.
Not surprised either. Gamers have shown time and time again that they can be pretty sad sometimes. The feeling of "I HATE YOUR THING AND NEED TO TELL YOU ABOUT IT" is rampant in this community (I've fallen into this here and there). I mean you can find examples of that in any form of entertainment but it just seems so intense in this medium.
Can y'all imagine if polygon gives ryse a better score than the last of us.
Pretty sad reading people in this thread hoping a game will review badly. What reason is there to hope a game will review or sell or do poorly?
Sounds great. ^^Its simplicity is a big part of why it works.

It would be higher than a ton of games with far better gameplay.
You like Knack, man. You should probably not talk.![]()
Could this be Xbone's Knack? I,e., everyone thought the simple combat would suck but the game's actually not that bad?

Really, they seem pretty similar. Games held back by being repetitive and nothing but nearly nonstop combat. Ryse is prettier and has more to the combat, so I'm expecting it to review better though not dramatically so.

prove me wrong then. Do mention it's budget and if it was financially successful or not.
@Gucci Messiah
clearly you do not have the academics smart to judge a game by how financially successful it was.
I don't glance throw games based on how well they're perceived on forums.
I judge them if they made a profit and if so why did they make that profit.
And excluding bizarre exceptions, most games do turn a profit based on how high they scored and how good it's word of mouth was.
Not everything needs to sell 10 million to be considered successful.
As I was watching the live stream earlier I kept asking myself how hard I would have to work towards dying.the graphics look so good, and the gameplay so standard. Also, can you even die in this game?
Where are the reviews? I thought sites were going to have them ready to go at midnight.

What the combat system relies on, rather than complexity, is timing. Getting the timing right on parrying an enemy blow, then the combination in which you strike back, and the precise timing of each of those strikes, is what Ryse is all about. It's a very tight focus for gameplay, but I found it to be highly satisfying. Its simplicity is a big part of why it works.
.....so it's about QTEs? >_>

3 am Pacific time.
What? Knack is awful. Just fucking terrible. This looks better graphically, but all the gameplay they show just looks bad to me.
