i hate resting, i'm not good at it

honestly i don't think i know how to do it

When you’re working out every fucking day of course you don’t know how to do it. 2 days of rest and my body drops into this state - yeah I don’t want to work out. It’s so hard to start again. So one day is enough. I have to admit though that esting is beneficial.

yesterday was legs. 4 rounds of horror. Nordic hamstring curls and stiff leg dead lifts. Always the same shit killing my legs. did 40kg (2x20kg dumbbells) for the first time. That’s half my body weight. I guess I can increase at least 10kg for the stiff legs. Though I’m gonna go slow as I have no goal :)

today I wanted to do a pull day. Fuck me I was sore as fuck. Dunno what was going on in my lats had no power at all to pull myself up with weights. It was horrible.
At least I did my best handstand to date and the stretching was good...I guess sometimes you just have a shit day.

Shit, I think I might have become addicted to water drinking over the years. Been having a bottle of water on my side and zipping from it ALL DAY LONG for the past couple of years but, especially in the last 6 months, I got some quite some severe digestive issues. Seems like getting in waaaaaay too much fuilds was at least one of the reasons for my problem. Cut down my water drinking drastically and finally seem to be able to eat shit without getting almost instant bloat that lasts for an hour and makes me fart like crazy....

But damn, the whole process is maing me nuts. Without the bottle of water at my side I'm nervous like I haven't been since I quit smoking. :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy: :messenger_tears_of_joy:

In the continued absence of the mancave and a bathroom (and thus not being able to do a workout for fear of stinking) today I moved the remnants of my old bathroom (the bath, sink, toilet, various bits of plumbing and a fuckload of old broken tiles) from the back garden to the skip in the front garden. Heavy work but it needed to be done. I enjoyed throwing a bath into a skip. It felt manly.

Who‘d guess kettlebell exercises could be this exhausting....

Did 3 intense sets of reverse lunges and snatches today and barely made it through the rest of my training without throwing up. Loved it. Can‘t wait to do it again.

Feels great to finally be able to go all in during my training. Injuries suck balls. Thanks god for Athlean X and his videos. If you guys don‘t know it, check it out. Greatest channel on YT. Helped me tons to get my shoulder and knee issues under control. Dude is legit.

Do that. You got to be pretty specific in your search though. That guy has been uploading videos for 7+ years. So it‘s quite a lot.
I love his scientific approach.. Jeff really knows his shit. But he doesn‘t sweeten it up for you. Some of the pain you have you probably won‘t get rid of and he is quite honest about that (Shit, he even admits to not doing that many squats because of his knees). However he does show you how to work around it. And it really works! Tested it. For my shoulder he recommended to do DB press on the floor to control the range. Would have never throught of that. Works like a fucking charm. Shoulder pain no more. Will continue doing that for now until I added some more muscles again and have less pressure on my joint and then try the old school DB press on the bench again.

Hey guys! Super stoked on my gym progress. As of today I've been to gym and ran 32 days in a row. When I started I could bench 225 5x. 3 days ago I benched 225 12x and today I maxed out at 300 lbs. Both personal records. The improvement is such an addiction right now. Im 5'8" 167 lbs. I gained 7lbs since I started and I want to try to get to at least 175. Hope everyone else is powering through. Stay hard!

I have the flu. He told me to stay in bed, drink a lot of water/tea and just recover. It’s already better than it was 2 days ago but I’m still not fit.
The earliest I can work out again is friday, though that’s optimistic. More realistic is sunday.

Can you gain muscle while losing fat? The internet is confusing on that.
Well, theoratically you need a caloric surplus to gain muscle and a caloric deficit to lose fat. So science would prolly say no.

Thankfully our bodies a quite complex and I'm sure it's possible. But only if you put in the effort and squeeze out the last rep. Meaning, really, really intense Training and a clean diet. And I don't just mean "sweat a lot" level of training but "almost puke" level of training. If you do that you'll force you body to build muscle even when on a slight deficit. But it's a dangerous game because at that level of intensity you're prone to get injured. So watch what you're doing. Believe me, I know.

Just back from one myself, you can look forward to more satisfying exhaustion afterwards though!

super high protein intake, that's what the literature says re: muscle gain and fat loss

you're basically strengthening lean tissue, you still have to eat more calories than you burn

as exor said, it's grueling

Depression’s a helluva drug. It’s been a long dark winter but I’m gonna get through goddamnit.
Got up at 3:45 this morning at ran 1.5 miles. Just a bit ago I snuck into a conference room at work and did a short workout. 30 seconds of each:

squats
Pushups
Crunches
Flutter kicks
Plank
Each side plank

I’m literally running for my life. The sooner I realize that the better. No medicine quite like it.

First day of kettlebell training. My legs and core are sorer than I expected and I'm usually pretty solid when it comes to squatting/lifting exercises. I like it and I think I'll stick with it. The goal was to simplify my equipment and this seemed like a fit. Will take at least a week before my thoughts are fully-formed though.
