This is embarrassing but I have absolutely rancid smelling protein farts this week. As a lady, they're sometimes hard to hold them in and I have to let it out while alone at an elevator at work or something. They smell *very* badly and are very frequent. What can I do?

Drink a glass of kefir every morning. Buy the plain one, not the flavored ones since those are full of sugar. Also maybe use a different brand, I don't have this problem with Optimum's. But kefir definitely helped reduced gas.

Front squats for more quad focus.

I already workout my quads well, but will front squats actually flatten my ass? I'm worried that more squats will just make it bigger.

Is it paleo friendly?

My fault I read it wrong. Front squat would only not focus on your glutes as much as back squats do. Only thing that I can think of to reduce glutes is cutting down in general.

I think they would make your ass larger, unless you decide to lose weight.

However if you just squal heavy, I would imagine that you'll proportional over time. Trying to piecemeal together body part changes is asking imbalances and an injury. This comes from someone who's had a fat ass, flat ass and muscular ass, just squat.

Slept in today for my off day for the week, and I'm craving a gym session first thing tomorrow morning. I think I've finally found a sustainable system for me. I just wanna see results now!

Since we're talking about focusing on certain parts, what's the best way to rid myself of my gut? My weight isn't high, if anything it's kinda on the lower end for a guy of my height.

Get rid of your bad genetics with a Cooterization?

Seriously though, you're basically screwed because you can't change how your body chooses to store fat. Someone recently posted a good link for explaining what each different body type should do... but annoyingly I can't find it.

Stop drinking protein powder. I can't remember the last time I drank any, but I do remember it occasionally wrecking my body.

Skinny Fat Represent!

Good article. Bookmarked for later use

Tried to IF but just got a nauseating headache. I could barely function after 6 :(

I am giving up on my IF attempt right now. I am putting on weight rather than losing it which is not my current goal. I would much rather stay plateaued for a while than put weight back on.

I may try it again with a proper meal plan but it may just not be for me. If there is one thing I have learned about on my journey it is that we are all different and we need to find what works for us. IF didn't work for me because I was so hungry by the time I could eat around 11-12 that I just began a slow pile on. I was also struggling with end of day diet too.

For me, grazing has worked much better overall and I just need to tighten up my snack choices, drop the salty carbs, etc.

GAF. Is there no way to flatten an ass other than to starve myself to death? I've been doing squats and all that in my workouts to stay in shape, but I always had a prominent butt (no it's not a posture thing) and I find it annoying because I either have to wear baggier pants or overside shirts, the later looks stupid. I look good wearing fitted clothes since I'm rather slim and have a decent build. The back of my shirts actually rest on my damn ass.

I'm thinking more squats will just make it bigger?

edit: You guys with your cheap salmon. Here I pay $7 for like 245g :( Plus it's not even wild.

You could skip squats and deadlifts entirely if you don't want any growth there. Cut calories and bodyfat since the glutes store so much fat.

If I stand my ass against a wall with perfect posture I have ~5 inches of gap from my lower back, imagine how I feel 😢

I don't drink protein powder often! Certainly not in the last few days! Just lots of chicken and veggies.

Have you increased your protein intake lately? Your body will probably release protein farts until it adapts to a high increase in protein intake if I remember right.

Your problem isn't really IF, it's your overall diet and relationship with food. With a side of a lack of structure based on the last sentence. That said, dieting is mostly mental so if grazing satisfies you then go for it.

But if you want to try IF again, you should get the Eat Stop Eat book, read it cover-to-cover-to-cover and try that instead.

It's true that we are all different. For me, intermittent fasting is just incredibly helpful in all areas of diet and self control. I get hunger spells rarely, I don't think about food as much, I have more energy during the day, and I drop fat much faster. It's easy to do IF because my work schedule is not static, so I can just move the 6 hour eating window around when I want.

Took me a good few weeks to get the hang of IF. Hunger was horrible at the start.

What's cool is that now I can switch it on and off if required. When I was in the US I switched to standard eating styles, and the the day I got back I went immediately back to 18/6 with no hunger whatsoever.

Well, at least I have an idea on what to do now. Thanks!

Never thought I'd say it, but I've succeeded in shrinking my stomach size through careful eating habits to where I'm having trouble hitting my BMR minimum. I'm just too full even at half my suggested caloric intake.

I may just have to double my protein shakes throughout the day, but I'm scared of the inevitable protein shits with that increase in volume. XD

Be careful, this can cause harm to you if you keep it up over a long period of time.

I envy you, just a bit. I only have trouble getting to maintenence sometimes if I'm eating "cleaner" foods but I'm still a fatty at heart. If I wasn't maintaining through the Cooter method I'd be dreading my all you can eat sushi binge tonight.

Weird to post this in a fitness thread, but how about soda? Or fruit juice (bought or through a juicer if you want to go a "healthy" route)? That kinda stuff is just calories that wash right through you.

Nuts, cheese, chocolate, etc are also very calorie dense foods that you can sub in if you need that too.

I was gonna say don't envy me too much because I'm still like 26% bodyfat. :p

But maybe juices aren't too bad an idea, since we have a ton at work and I do love ruby red grapefruit juice.

Is it paleo friendly?

Kefir is a type of fermented dairy, similar to yogurt, that is not part of the original Paleo diet but that can be included in your diet as a good source of probiotics if you tolerate it well.

The Paleo diet encourages the consumption of fermented foods, such as raw sauerkraut, kombucha and fermented dairy products, because of the gut-friendly bacteria they provide. Kefir contains different strains of healthy bacteria that can help you improve your gut flora. Avoid kefir that is sweetened or flavored or that contains artificial ingredients. Select kefir made from the full-fat milk of a grass-fed cow. Choose plain kefir, or make it yourself. Mix it with fresh fruit or berries if desired.

It's fermented milk. Kind of a primitive thing so I'd say it fits the paleo diet!

At 26% BF, I wouldn't worry about going under BMR, IMO. Your fat stores will easily supply any non-ridiculous deficit.

My last weight loss stint ended not too long ago and I was at an average of 1500/day, while my calculated BMR is apparently 1800 at my new weight.

If you're only at half your BMR though then yes, you might want to start sucking back a bit of juice, and putting sugar/creamer in your coffee, etc. Delicious things await you lol.

That's what I mean, I'll hit like 900 calories and I'll be full for the day. XD
