Went to the gym anyway. I hope my body doesn't punish me tomorrow 😥
Nicely done! I always force myself in anyway. I usually don't regret it and always walk out feeling a little accomplished lol

FE, you look like a monster man. I don't see the bloat either.

I just bought my first kettle bell to add some variety to my at-home training, and I'm absolutely loving it. The only problem is that there's just a massive list of different exercises to do with them, so I'm finding it hard to be consistent from week to week; I'm always trying different things out. Does anyone have any advice when it comes to programming? I'm using a KB in conjunction with push-ups and pull-ups.

You hit two different fast food places for lunch?

Really? Does it ever spike your heart rate to an uncomfortable level? I haven't taken a preworkout in months and I think it's going to stay that way, but I have used a little caffeine at the start of races before since I no longer get much adrenaline out of the experience.
No, but to be honest I drink so much coffee that I'd need to snort pure caffeine like cocaine to get any meaningful hit from it now.

So, do all pre-workout cause the "itch"? I think I tried like 4 brands and they all leave me wanting to scratch my body.

I should probably post this in the weight loss thread but it seems no one goes there anymore. So I'm going to post it here.

Today I hit 45 lbs lost. Took me a little over 2 months to do it this time. 10 weeks to be precise. Weigh in today at 184 lbs.

I think I will come back to this thread.

If it is manageable, I go. If I'm too fucked up, I rest. Last week I had a cold and even felt better after working out.

Depends on what type of sick. In most cases you'd be better off skipping it.

I always go unless I'm in super rough shape. It's mostly out of my fear of breaking the habit. Probably not the best idea for your health or, if your gym is busy at the time you go, for others.

Three days in on the intermittent fasting turned into 3 days of undisciplined gorging for 8 hours a day. Feeling like shit but I am going to keep pushing and see if I can get the diet discipline going. If not I will go back to what was working.

Bloated as fuck today, and not FE bloated! lol

My coach always taught me that:

Neck and below = Stay Home
Head = Go to the gym

5 months ago I started being a scrawny nerd. Made it 3 months into SL 5x5. Depression hit and I stopped for 2 months. Started up again last week.

Man I lost so much. I'm basically back to the first few weeks. I feel great now that I'm back again, it just sucks to be basically having to restart because I didn't drag myself there.

Onward and upwards I suppose.

Do you plan your meals at all? I always have my meals for at least the next day planned and it's good for keeping me on track, but I've also been at this for a while so my discipline game is generally on point.

Pulled 300 pounds on my deadlift, which, while not the highest weight I've ever deadlifted, I'm happy about considering where I'm at in my cut (weighed in at 144.6 yesterday!) but also because it was without chalk. I have tiny hands so I usually chalk up midway through my warm-up sets to help, but I've noticed my grip improving so I've been trying to see how high I can go with bare hands.

I definitely need to be planning my meals. I tend to eat the same foods all the time with a little variety here and there. It doesn't help that we are extra poor right now so I am scraping together whatever I can to eat. I am confident I will get this figured out!

Eating the same thing like that isn't that bad as long as you aren't the type of person to get bored by doing so, since that will likely lead to lashing out and going crazy with eating. Before I started living with my girlfriend I would eat the same thing every day (every meal in fact!) with little variations depending on whether it was a workout day or a rest day for me. She needs more variety than I do though but she's also happy to cook some of the stuff I plan out for us so while I can't be quite as lazy, it still works out for me in the long run. XD

By the way, this subreddit might be of use to you.

I'm pretty sure you will see much quicker progress than last time. Just like fat seems to come back easier, muscle seems to be easier to build if it was there before. Ie regaining is easier than gaining for the first time.

"My God... it's full of Starch!"
did the roll of shame today. Decided to go all the way down on bench and do tshirt presses instead of the crappy ROM I was doing before. I got 5 really good reps and was feeling good and decided to get the 6th and final one but I failed almost at the top. then did the roll of shame and some bros ran over and helped me out lol.

Gonna hit the 6th rep next time though!

I think it is an interesting thing that we know it by the name "Roll of Shame", when in fact those who go through it are actually growing a pair, and trying to push through their limits.

people love their 10+ rep max comfort zone way too much

Yesterday I had 1.5 lbs of trail mix.

You may think that doesn't sound too bad or even that it's healthy. That's what I thought too.

Now I'm bloated, farting and super uncomfortable

Benching with no spotters when pushing your limits is never smart. People literally die that way.

GAF. Is there no way to flatten an ass other than to starve myself to death? I've been doing squats and all that in my workouts to stay in shape, but I always had a prominent butt (no it's not a posture thing) and I find it annoying because I either have to wear baggier pants or overside shirts, the later looks stupid. I look good wearing fitted clothes since I'm rather slim and have a decent build. The back of my shirts actually rest on my damn ass.

I'm thinking more squats will just make it bigger?

edit: You guys with your cheap salmon. Here I pay $7 for like 245g :( Plus it's not even wild.

I'm 100% positive this thread is why I bought and ate a delicious pound of fresh salmon when I saw it in the grocery store. Great value of protein per calorie!

How much is there to the thought that when we train our muscles we are really training our brains, and if we just believe that we will get stronger, and believe that our bodies will grow more muscle, that incremental progress will never stop?

Started my peak for my meet on the 25th. Everything this week will be lifts at 90% for triples, next week around 92% for doubles, and then the week after I might work up to around just below my second attempt for a single. Today was deadlifts, video is of my last set. My back wasn't as rounded during the first 3 sets but I'm ok with the upper back rounding here given that it was my 4th set at 90%.

Front squats for more quad focus.

This is embarrassing but I have absolutely rancid smelling protein farts this week. As a lady, they're sometimes hard to hold them in and I have to let it out while alone at an elevator at work or something. They smell *very* badly and are very frequent. What can I do?
