Reporting in from north St Pete. Just woke up. Wasn't bad at all. Nothing that woke me up. Still have power.,
Tallahassee here and still have power for the time being... knock on wood.
My backyard now has several large downed trees to go with the one in the front yard.
And can I get a fuck Napleton Infiniti? For those not around here, here's the score: FSU has 5 or 6 parking garages. These are, as you can guess, segmented with spots for faculty, students, VIPs, etc. For the storm, they were kind enough to remove the restriction.
Napleton Infiniti, a car dealership, took it upon themselves to fill the garages with their stock, so students who actually pay with tuition to be there and staff who pay out of their paycheck to park there had NO PLACE to park.
Pretty shitty thing to do.
Okay just lost power so never celebrate anything lol

Yep I'm in North St Pete as well and just got back home from the shelter I was staying at and still have power and internet. I feel like we really dodged a bullet.
Anyone here around Ocala or in touch with family in that area?
We're okay AFAIK, but yeah no powerHere by Disney we're safe, just exhausted. Very minimal damage, very fortunate, going to see how I can help when curfew is lifted.
Does anyone know how Gainesville is going? I imagine they're still without power, but no communication from my sister since last night.
My mom is in ocala, she says she's alright.Anyone here around Ocala or in touch with family in that area?
My mom is in ocala, she says she's alright.
Thanks. My grandparents are in Ocala and had a bunch of family who evacuated to their property. Last major hurricane they had a tornado go through their area, and we couldn't get them on the phone this morning, so I'm glad to hear Ocala wasn't hit that badHey bud, from Ocala but rode it out in jax. My cousin and older bro are fine, said they lost power and lots of debri and ones fence went down, but are ok.
I havent heard from my bro or mom since 5 am but im hoping theyre just passed out or phones are dead. Apparently ocala had some tornado warnings. They stay on NE side of town, not far off 326.
Soon as i hit post she text me theyre ok! Hope you and yours are too. Ive been concerned with a few trees for a couple years now so its def a relief.
Yeah, i live close to the high school. Still no power.Avalon park, Avalon? Nearish Timber Creek high school?
Lucky. I have a few friends in the area that still have power. I'm in Timber SpringsI'm in Avalon Park and power is still on in the neighborhood
My parents in Ft Myers are fine. They didn't lose power. Some downed trees and debris, some flooding at the ends of their street. My dad sent a video around 6 yesterday and I asked why he went out in 100+ MPH winds, and the answer was "He wanted to."
Parents. Geez.
Jeez I wonder what Fort Wilderness or Animal Kingdom looks like. Some pictures of the damage around Disney's Polynesian Resort I took earlier today.

As an uodate, my mom's power is out, so it's likely that there are other outages.Thanks. My grandparents are in Ocala and had a bunch of family who evacuated to their property. I already got power back in North Lauderdale!
FPL really isn't playing this time. Definitely better than the month without power after Wilma lol.
MARIGOT, St. Martin — At dawn, people began to gather, quietly planning for survival after Hurricane Irma.
They started with the grocery stores, scavenging what they needed for sustenance: water, crackers, fruit.
But by nightfall on Thursday, what had been a search for food took a more menacing turn, as groups of people, some of them armed, swooped in and took whatever of value was left: electronics, appliances and vehicles.
”All the food is gone now," Jacques Charbonnier, a 63-year-old resident of St. Martin, said in an interview on Sunday. ”People are fighting in the streets for what is left."
In the few, long days since Irma pummeled the northeast Caribbean, killing more than two dozen people and leveling 90 percent of the buildings on some islands, the social fabric has begun to fray in some of the hardest-hit communities.
Residents of St. Martin, and elsewhere in the region, spoke about a general disintegration of law and order as survivors struggled in the face of severe food and water shortages, and the absence of electricity and phone service.

Just checking in down in South florida, just got cell service back but no power. Took a trip around the neighbor hood. Lots and lots of trees down every where but no structure damage for the most part.
