appreciate the love & concern for our community, but do be sure not to be one of those suffering porn weirdos quietly reveling in this shit

almost as bad as those judging the folks unable to leave - don't be those guys

That usually means inbound Tsunami...but I've never heard of a Hurricane doing that, unless it's just sending that water elsewhere.

Storm surge is like a small tsunami, the deeper water is pushed into shallower waters and build up on top of the standard water level.

Well, I just evacuated from Tampa. People still just going about the normal daily routine. The daily sun for like 3 days straight must be giving a false sense of security.

Stay safe TampaGAF.

I figured as much, but surprised to see it so dramatic.

Just checked the tide charts for Key West and it's 2h30m til low tide, but tides there are only like 2ft swing. Was wondering if that would impact the surge a lot, but I guess even the high tide won't add too much to it.

I l am fucking exhausted. Helped a neighbor put up 5 sets of last-minute storm shutters and move 2 statues. He only has daughters and they couldn't really help move the big stuff. Nice to be helpful but fuck, man...

Thank you for helping other families in need!

I have a friend who is sheltering 2 random families from south beach who apparently had nowhere to go. Really glad people out there have hearts.

So whens the hurricane hitting the keys?
Looks like it's not raining that much now.

They have about 24 hours and they will be under Hurricane conditions. Right now, this is just like watching an approaching tropical storm.

Good guy dreams-visions

This youtube video is in the keys right? Why doesn't it look stronger? Aren't there supposed to already be 150mph windws there right now? This looks like 40-50mph winds.

Thats exactly what it is. Hurricane force winds are still 24 hours away for them.

It sucks being in the panhandle because all the news casters are saying the best case scenario would be to hit us instead haha. :(

I know the feels after the projection changed from Miami.

My das is in Tampa and he was saying it was supposed to hit at 8PM tonight. Which would have put it in the keys by now. Maybe I misheard and it's 8PM tomorrow?

Both wrong. Hurricane force winds not expected in Tampa for 36 hours at the absolute earliest.

Expect tropical storm force conditions starting at the earliest at 10 am tomorrow morning.

We live right where it's currently projected to hit. My wife's grandparents live in a mobile home park right near the water and since they were under a mandatory evacuation, we've taken them in here. They also had a couple of neighbors that didn't have anywhere to go so we've taken them in as well. Unless things change in the next twelve hours, I think I'm going to have to abandon the house and find all of us a shelter, because I don't think this place can survive the direct hit of a category 3/4 hurricane

Power flickered long enough to knock everything off for a second as we get an outer band here in Fort Lauderdale. Here we go.
My front yard is already flooding :(

It's tomorrow. It's expected to hit the Keys around 11am tomorrow morning. The eye is still riding the edge of Cuba.

...and that, kids, was the first time I sucked a dick for crack
How wide is the eye? 70 miles or so?

The storm has slowed down to 9MPH. So the timing is all fucked right now. It'll be late Sunday for central FL now.

I feel for this Firefighter on MSNBC, all these people ignoring the evacuation and now ignoring the Fire Department's driveby warnings.

Said it honestly doesn't anger or frustrate him, just makes him sad.
