Lol.
Seems like some journalists say he's moving and some say he isn't. First the rejection by ozil and now the rumors of sneijder. Only positive is that we know they definately want a player in the mould of scholes :p

I don't have them with me, but I remember reading some stats showing that arsenal wasn't actually doing horrible defensively last season. The problem is most times, arsenal get way too complacent/lazy towards the end of the game. Almunia is gone now too, which should help us a bit.

Completely agree here. I don't know how it happens or how to make us snap out of it, but it always happens. It's why as an Arsenal fan, I am never complacent about a score till it's over, cause we always seem to cock it up eventually.

This is exactly what I mean. How many of you knew that he's on closer to £70,000 a week.

read it was 40 somewhere no doubt unreliable, i acknowledge my ignorance.

70k is still too low though!

This isn't the Torres situation. Torres' transfer request was a statement of intent to leave the club. Modric has made already that statement, and a piece of paper that was most likely submitted by his agent, as he was on a plane to South Africa, should have little effect on the clubs stance. This was said by Redknapp in advance of him doing so. ]

I only used the Torres situation as a recent reference point. I did not mean that the 2 situations will play out the same way.

However, if Modric's actions are to be interpreted along the usual lines, it means that he doesn't buy into the Spurs project any longer, thinks that he is bigger than the rest of the team, and that Spurs are actively impeding the progression of his career. We can respect Redknapp and Levy for their staunch policy on his transfer, but at some point the dam will break and Modric will leave the club. It is probably a better idea to cash in on him now, than hope that he suffers some kind of miraculous change of mind later int the season.

Told you guys so weeks ago. But I guess you wanted to believe that :)

The guy you guys got from Croatian league or something with a lot of goals last season, is he a striker or an attacking mid?

Well it's been rumored for a while that Dortmund didn't want him, but this is the first time they have actually said it. Just wish someone would sign Denilson already.

Ivan Perisic...says he's a midfielder...but it also says forward, and he has forward-like numbers. I don't know...it's wikipedia.

I don't think there's any harm in keeping him for now. He is on a long contract and his quality is hardly going to be forgotten. Providing Harry can manage the player's ego, the club won't be harmed by keeping him for the forthcoming season and selling him later. We will still get a good fee if we decided to get rid next summer.

They said it earlier. I think after the Perisic buy they said they're finished with new signings.

Midfielder, played on the left side in Brügge. Should be able to play on both sides and in the centre. It's not sure if he'll start the first few matches, though. He admitted the training here is a different and he seemed tired as hell in the friendly I watched. And with Götze, Kagawa and Großkreutz, it'll be hard for him at the beginning.

Guess I didn't see that news. What do you think about Gündoğan. Do you think he can truly replace Sahin?

No way. I have to admit I wasn't a big fan of him at Nürnberg but he's just 20 and can definately get important. But with Kagawa returning it's a lot easier to replace Sahin.

I'm also keeping an eye on Leitner. Came from 1860 München, is just 19 and looks like he could grow into the role, too.

Yeah, it sucked when Kagawa got injured for Japan last season. Good thing Gotze stepped up and replaced him. You guys have a great squad and I hope to watch them some more. Too bad they don't show hardly any German football in the states, except maybe one game a week very early on Saturdays.

That's really hilarious. There is no way Müller will sign anywhere else soon. He's got all it takes to become a legend at Bayern where he won't earn little money and will play CL every year with chances to win it. Why should he leave, like ever?

He probably wont...hell I cant even sign him in FIFA because "he's been at the club too long and is loyal to the club".

He said they were interested in him. Now he's saying they won't sign him. It's not going back against his word, the two don't cancel each other out. Doesn't mean they weren't interested in signing him.

Shouldn't put your faith in Twitter, or the Daily Mirror.

Enjoy Carrick and Fletcher next season.
I find it strange then he's apologizing for it in this tweet and another (i hope the link works)

The link worked. It seems he's apologising because he knows he's given United fans false hope, which happens frequently in the world of transfers. Like he says in that tweet, "Things change very quickly", whilst his sources were telling him United were interested in Sneijder, it seems suddenly the deal has hit a brick wall.

Again, he hasn't gone back on what he said, things have just changed. It's hard for even the best journalists to track the semantics of a deal from the beginning to its conclusion, and it seems from the certainty and unambiguous nature of these tweets that this one has, reached its conclusion.

Lol. In PES it's because he's a first team regular. I can get Aguero for £55m and Ozil for about £35 though. Fun times.

Exactly. I posted it as a joke, but the english members looked like something that could happen, haha.

Alterted by dc89, this thread needs a new OT. So if if you guys want to decide between yourselves who's going to make it, so I can then swap the sticky, that would be grand.

oh shit.

Someone better jump on this before Kermit or dc89 does. I don't want an OP consisting only of links to the Manchester City website (best website in the world though)
