When I read there was a threesome I thought it would be Doug, Rachel and her girl, not Frank, Claire and the fucking secret service guy. What the actual fuck

If teams could maintaing that pressuring during so much time, Barcelona would have never been so successful. Arsenal stopped doing it before the sending off too, they were exhausted.
I was referring to a hypothetical situation in which we had scored the penalty and you were chasing the game. It was the miss took the wind out of our sails, not exhaustion.

Anyway, Barcelona in their prime looked a far cry away from the Bayern Munich I saw last night.

the Ozil criticism is overblown. there's no way to even remotely consider him a flop; he already stepped in without a pre-season and has delivered on many occasions. Assist might be the most meaningless of all the meaningless stats. He's dropped off, but players do that when they're tired—no one is indestcrutible. He's hardly the first Arsenal player to play like shit in February because they're exhausted and Wenger's run them into the ground.

Ozil created first goal against Liverpool out of nothing, he created the penalty against Bayern. Even when he's playing below his own high standards, that's still incredibly dangerous. The real problem is that he's playing passes to Giroud and Sanogo, rather than any kind of competent striker. Wenger felt comfortable starting a teenager with just a single start this season ahead of Giroud in the most difficult fixture of the season; that wasn't a vote of confidence in Sanogo, that was an acknowledgment of the overwhelmingly obvious fact that Giroud is shit.

fuck Giroud.

(people forget how terrible this team was last season; Ozil's made it a lot better)

Ozil's been alright. Wenger's afraid to rest him though because of how much he cost and if he gets arsey due to being dropped. Should have been him coming off instead of Cazorla last night.

I heard about rumors that Özil might be not good enough for the EPL. The source says he can only succeed against the Queens Park Rangers.

Discuss.

Cazorla was also rather poor, any of them was fine really.

But he can actually shoot and is better on the wing so if the idea was everyone stay behind lone striker Sanogo, he probably would have been better.

I think Wenger made a similar mistake in 2006, Hleb didn't have the same goal threat as Pires and wasn't noticeably better when not in possession.

Oh, yes then you're right. I think Arsenal deserved a goal at least in the first 15 minutes.

This is the worst version of Pep's Bayern I've seen in months too. We've been much better, he decided to change the tactics 100% for this match and it failed, he fixed it during the match by changing formation and players... the moment Muller and Pizarro came in, we were playing the system we've been using during the second half of the season.

Pep even says he's likely to sign a extension, and probably stay.

pls tell me this is a joke

PLEASE

All of Arsenal's problems could be solved if we bought someone who could score goals.

Makes me weep looking at the lack of quality we have in that area compared to say, even Liverpool.

Liverpool.

Bendtner coming back was like getting a new signing though, so there was no need for such spendings.

thanks to that we scored a goal.
Like it or not, the goal was thanks to Lahm, Pizarro and Muller. Not Gomez (vs Chelsea) or Mandzukic (yesterday) were able to do what Pizarro did against a team parking the bus

You looked better in the second half because you were against 10 men. It's easy to dominate a dog that's already got its tail between its legs.

it would be funny if Pizarro was actually bad like Gomez, or even like Mandzukic sometimes but he's absolutely class. stop making a fool of yourself by talking about a player you have no idea of

He's got less than 100 goals for Bayern in over 200 games innit. Textbook definition of average striker.

obviously it would be hard to tell the difference because of the player getting sent off and Arsenal parking the bus.

I'm not doubting the players' quality, but I seriously doubt it was his influence that allowed Bayern to control the second half so well. It was clear that the direction to the Arsenal players in the second half was just to contain as best they could, and Bayern set out to tire them by forcing them to chase the ball, which is why Pep put Lahm in the midfield to control the pace of the game. They'd never be able to fight for possession with only 10 men on the pitch, anyway.

Pizarro may have been an important part of that goal after Koscielny took it upon himself to make a last ditch attack and was then caught out of position when Bayern hit back, but I think that's about as far as his influence goes.

I think Bayern would have had a much more "easier" first half if we had started with Lahm-Kroos as holding midfield. Instead of lonely man Martínez as only #6. But, that is just theory, and we will only be able to see if this is true in the second leg.

Of course, Pizarro wasn't vital, he was part of the goal and that's it. I'm not saying he's amazing for what he did there, I just was pointing out how great he is, after seeing him for two season in a row saving us and showing his quality in Bundesliga and CL. He's basically the perfect striker for a team like Bayern, but he's too old now
