Best league in the world. Bundesliga is too antiseptic, in La Liga both Myler and Pardew would've dived.

The more I look at the gif, the less it seems like a headbutt and more like Pardew is trying to get Meyler to kiss him on the forehead

Worst thing about this match was that I thought we played well last week against Bayern and Sunderland and now we didn't even bother to play against Stoke. Who knows how we'll play our next match, we have lost all the consistency we had earlier this season.

Maybe we still have chance in FA Cup, would love to see us winning anything at this point.
New manager is what is required. Simple.

Just saw the Koscielny handball. That is fucking harsh. I suppose you could say Arse deserve to lose since it finished 1-0, but that's the shittish way imaginable to drop points.

He's had one red card this season in that Aston Villa aberration in August and has been an absolutely consistent performer at the back for Arsenal this season, contributing to our long stay at the top of the table and earning many plaudits.

I would argue that he is one of the best in England (this season), despite rash decision making at times. It isn't like there are many quality CBs in England at the moment anyway, so it isn't a controversial thing to say.

My bad, I just figured all the penalties had coincided with penalties. It looks like he actually hasn't had a yellow even in ages. That's definitely at least his 4th penalty conceded though because I see he gave away a 3rd back in November. Either way, that's absolutely horrific and would take him out of consideration for best of anything. Inexcusable defending.

Over the past 9 years there has only been one constant.

Wenger.

No player has been on the squad for that length of time. I am starting to feel like the players don't think Wenger can win. None of them have ever won anything with him. And most of them were in their early teens when he last won.

If he signs a big name striker and dm and still can't win, its time to go.

Would you be averse to occasionally putting Flanagan at leftback and starting to blood McClaughlin into the team next year?

(assuming we negligently fail to buy a new LB)

I've not seen any of McClaughlin this year. If they think he will be ready next season, I trust Brendan.

We are in a situation where our fullbacks our quite flexible, so we can buy a new RB if we are unable to get a left.

I think this is another case of Football fans being too beholden to stats.

Koscielny's performances this season have been, with a few exceptions, consistently excellent. This has been recognised by many and a kneejerk reaction after a game won't change that.

Top 4 with the likes of Gervinho, Koscielny, Chesney, Giroud...

Find me someone who can pull it off with those players.

Other than Gervinho none of these makes it that hard to get top 4.. and it's not like Gervinho was that terrible either despite some hilarious misses. City are title challenger with Michelle playing all the time, now that is something amazing.

Kyo's bang on, Wenger has done darn good to keep Arsenal top 4. Yeah transfer's have been right dodgy, but without Dein it all went to shit

Some muppets in here would have rather had Mancini, so that tells you all you need to know really about their knowledge.

They've also got a 100 million pound strikerforce. Kinda helps.

Jesus Christ Hiroshawn. You know, if you really want to be a hardcore sports better, Football is a really poor market and you'd be much better of with Horses

I thought Man U would have almost no chance of returning to the top 4 next season, but it looks like Arsenal are willing to hand them the opportunity by sacking Wenger.

I don't think I can complain too much though, as if Wenger is sacked then he becomes the best candidate by a mile to replace Hodgson for England. He's pretty much my dream appointment, but I assumed the chance was gone once Arsenal started to do so well.

lol, there's always that exclamation point which sums everything up, and Ox, who was dropped despite being our best player in 2014, teeing up a poor striker was just...poetic. The more things change and all that. It will be genuinely embarrassing if we finish 4th and don't win the FA Cup (even if we do, it's a bad look tbh).

Need alot more going forward for next season. Podolski didn't prove any Gooner who wants him starting games right (goalscorer, but even more limited than Theo), there's no chance he stays in the summer. Giroud, just...

I wouldn't say that :lol. He's lucky to have Mertesacker next to him.

And vice versa for Mertesacker. Koscielny is a freak athletically (what other CB can handle both a Suarez and a Lukaku) who's made more interceptions than any CB in the league because he reads danger so well, and consistently cleans up cutbacks/crosses with ease.

He's had about 3 red cards this year and maybe given away 4 or 5 penalties. You can't be amongst the best with strikes like that. "Moments of madness" means points dropped. That's a cardinal sin for a CB.

Incorrect on both accounts there. 1 red, and we've given away about 4 penalties total, never mind Koscielny alone.

"Moments of madness" hasn't really been an issue for him this season, though I did agree a year ago that such a thing is what keeps him from being top class. Not really sure how what happened today could be classed as such though. Was more unlucky than stupid.

Koscielny is very lucky he has someone that covers him as well as Mertesacker does, because in my opinion he's too stupid to be a top tier defender. Has all the physical attributes but he has no intelligence.
