Comedy is either hit or miss with me. The only new shows I've really thought highly of over the last few years is Bitch in Apt. 23 and Happy Endings, both on ABC. That show was fucking amazing on so many levels. Damn shame neither could hold on to an audience.

Happy Endings was good, I liked that. Good chemistry between the leads.

I thought S2 of New Girl was good.

Didn't like Bitch, fucking despised that shitty Two Broke Girls fucking nonsense

Brooklyn looks good.

Sorry, I don't understand what you said :lol

"I've been watching Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. Someone please tell me I've missed out on an awesome Batman adaptation, so that I can go visit ComiXology"

I assumed this meant you didn't know if this was a comic or not, and if it was to tell you so you can go read it

im confused

help

I wanted to reply as well but have no idea what he means. :lol

I just spotted the film on Amazon Instant Video and just wondered if there was comic as well. You two know what I meant.

It's only 2.30am in the morning.

Long Halloween is superior Batman graphic novel

Anal is superior to all

2 Broke Girls is the epitome of terrible comedy. It's either super safe racist jokes, the big titted one is a whore or dumb blonde joke. That's the entire show.

I think New Girl is actually decent, but I've missed much of the current season for some reason. Raising Hope on Fox is also pretty good though.

I couldn't stick with B99. I like dumb characters, but there was just too many. I also didn't like that they were making light of law enforcement as being that fucking stupid.

The best Batman I've read:

Year One
The Dark Knight Returns
The Killing Joke
Long Halloween
Arkham Asylum

I'm not an avid comic reader so I may be missing some.

In what episode you give up?[/QUOTE]

Like 3 or 4 maybe? I'll give it another shot I think when it get's on Netflix and I can burn through them.

Do you know how the ratings are? Has it been renewed for a second season?

I love Gillian Anderson in The Fall, and can't wait for series 2. But her new show on NBC, Crisis, is awful.

Also, TV is fucking awesome. Especially when shit like American Hustle and Wall Street Wolf are considered good cinema. Mad Men, Veep and Game of Thrones is about to start back up too.

Ratings are good nothing impressing but solid enough.

Omg @ Inter. Are you kidding me with this? Lololol. What a way to end up drawing.

AHAHAHAHA. YES. I needed this after yesterday's debacle, which frankly didn't bother me at all, lol.

I'm dying.

Someone get me Zabo.

Who the hell is Oğuzhan Özçelik?

repressing his boners in the casino atm

It would be funny, if it wasn't true. :(

because we're lazy cunts, basically. We're waiting for the inevitable EL elimination easier games (5 in a row coming up) to step on the pedal.

Fixed that for ya.

Just finished Game of Thrones season 2. Fuck, I might like this even more than the first.

[...]

Can't wait for Season 3 going by the many plot lines Season 2 has spun. Love how they've pretty much forgotten about Robb now. :lol He seems so insignificant compared to the other characters and the assumption of where the plot will go.

Carbonox is truly FootyGAF's most underrated member. Be sure to let us know how you liked S3! :)

Any book readers here dislike the show?

I still haven't finished season 3 and lack the motivation to do so. Quality wise, in my mind, it just doesn't stand anywhere near the literary source. Some parts have been excellent and in particular, the casting is exactly how I imagined it more often than not. But I just can't shake the feeling that something is 'off' with it and it really nibbles away at me when I'm watching it.

Show is a great adaptation. It will never, ever be as good as the books nor as good as other shows because of the vast amount of characters and plotlines it has to juggle. To me it's really amazing what they've done with a supposedly unfilmable book series. Can't really ask for more!

I'm kind of torn between these two points of view. I shared Salva's view particularly during S1, which I really liked, but yeah, coming from the books, something was missing. I've been enjoying the show much more starting from S2, after I readjusted my expectations. It happens rarely, but for once I don't agree with Odd's opinion, even though I don't consider the books to be 'perfect' or anything.

The worst thing about the show is how they ruined Stannis

Pretty much.

What do you guys not like about TV Stannis? Not angry/vengeful enough?

To me it just feels like they don't "get" him in the show. He is a much more complicated character in the books, with a bizarre sense of duty and honor. He's monolithic and multi-faceted at the same time, weirdly touchy despite being rigid. Not much of all that manages to shine through his solemn appearance in the show, imo. He's outright dislikable and forgettable, while in the books he steals almost every scene he's in.

Haven't read the books (outside of like 3 chapters heh) but I can see what you mean, and they definitely don't capture that in the show.

Fair points boys. I can definitely see what you're saying. You're right about Stannis in the show being entirely bland and uninteresting.

Speaking of books, I've been really on again off again with The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, but I'm almost finished with it and it's really good.

Yes, did show Stannis ever crack a joke? He is witty in the books.

Lool yeah Stannis is really bland and uninteresting. He's just...there.

I figured he was more fleshed out in the books! Davos is the best part of his story.

I can't sleeeeeep and she's coming over in 2 hours. Fucking fuck me it's gonna be one of those 28 hour days again. Edit: avatar strangely appropriate again

Edit: I need to stop saying 'again'

Can somebody explain to me in a couple of sentences what the fuck The Amazing Race is all about? I've have seen the name pop up a thousand times over the years, but for some reason I never cared enough to google it. It seems only fair that I don't google it now.

What's so goddamn amazing about it?

I would assume they race around a country? Many Countries?
Finding clues and completing tasks to get to the next airport/transport and continue until they get back to where they started/pre determined destination?

Complete guess.

Funnily enough, I only remember watching these reality shows in hotels. Never anywhere else.

There's nothing amazing about it. Couples or friends racing to do some objectives around the world. That's pretty much it. There's some drama in between of course :p
That avatar is always appropriate. :lol

I figured out what Suarez reminds me of. He's like Omar from the Wire. The stash guys know he's coming and he's gonna steal their shit so they just drop their drugs out the window to avoid conflict. That's what Suarez is like when he's pressing defenders. They just give him the ball like "just take it and leave me alone. I'm too old for this shit."

The Amazing Race was actually really damn good and entertaining for the first number of seasons. But then they aired it twice a year for something like 12+ years at this point. There's only so many times you can watch the same thing. They may go to new destinations but the series is effectively the same thing every time. Quit at least 10-12 seasons ago.

Please ditch Bones and The Following and start watching The Good Wife.

I know I'm late but Year One is probably my favourite comic ever. It's so good and the main reason I'm excited for the Gotham TV show about Gordon.

A Clash of Kings is great.
Have fun.

Thanks, will do.

I was surprised at how much space it took up at the local B&N. Cormac McCarthy's entire collection took up half the space the first book GoT did.

No worries ;)

We can't control pulga though

He's busy with the HIMYM fallout.

I was disappointed that Returns didn't reach the standard set by Year One. It's amazing.
