Seriously though, as great as Dempsey has been this season, he would only really be replacing Gerrard, and there is no point replacing one ageing midfielder with another one. We'd be better just trying to get Aquilani to stick around for next season.

He's a great player, but I think a lot of people fail to see the difference between a great player at a midtable club and a great player at a top club... I realise Liverpool are midtable, but if their goal is to be a top club, they should aim higher.

For much of his time with us, he's actually displayed great acts of passing, hold-up play and skill. But yeah, he's susceptible to times where it's like he's too lazy with the ball and would much rather prefer to receive it near the goal.
