Tony Pulis as manager, obviously.

“I suppose the only time I felt disappointed was during the next game against Egypt, which was a friendly, and the armband got passed around between five or six players,” said Terry. “I just felt, ‘OK, I’ve been stripped of the captaincy, but don’t take the piss out of me’. Fabio had told me at the meeting that I was still a big voice in the dressing room and he wanted that to continue, but on the night it felt the opposite. Had I got the armband third, even fourth, I would have been happy, but Steven Gerrard was captain and first he went off, then Frank Lampard got it, and then Lamps went off and they gave it to Gareth Barry, and then he went off and it was anybody’s. I think they would have given it to one of the stewards ahead of me. Even if it was a friendly, we were still there to win and you should put your best people in charge. People might not like to hear this, but I just thought it was a little disrespectful. I had no choice but to get on with it, though. That is how I feel now. I don’t envisage I will be captain again, but for two England managers, Steve McClaren and Fabio Capello, I was their first choice and I’m proud of that.”

Gold Coast are winning though. :(

They're a vanity project for the biggest knobhead in Australia, though.

Imagine if Piers Morgan started a football club. You'd want them to get battered.

Valencia apparently trained hard and well before the Bilbao game, which is promising.

Are you talking about our Valencia?

I see on twitter that Abidal has (half of) a relative's liver lined up.

Wazza is listening to shite Liverpool student skiffle, which is his prematch routine. From which one infers that he will turn out for us.

Me either. Part of me thinks it would be a good idea to do so, post on GAF and to see the results. But part of me also values my liver, something heightened by Abidal

It's really not, and as for image tags. It's just clicking a button. I remember fuck all from that night.

Also I do not drink often

Ugh.

Martin Ferguson reported to be looking at Rayo Vallecano RB Tito.

LB, you mug. LB. RB will be alright. And a 26 year old journeyman is not the answer.

Bolton literally just put out another statement.

Bolton said:
Fabrice Muamba remains in a critical condition in intensive care in the Heart Attack Centre at The London Chest Hospital.

Fabrice was admitted to the hospital yesterday evening after collapsing at White Hart Lane, where he sustained a cardiac arrest during the FA Cup quarter-final against Tottenham Hotspur.

Fabrice received prolonged resuscitation at the ground and on route to The London Chest Hospital, where his heart eventually started working.

As is normal medical practice, Fabrice remains anaesthetised in intensive care and will be for at least 24 hours.

His condition continues to be closely monitored by the cardiac specialists at the hospital.

It's good to be updated. Without updates, we get the nonsense speculation Sky was spouting saying he was stable.

Yesterday was really a shit storm of speculations and rumors. I think some of these journalists (and twitter users) are forgetting that this isn't transfer rumors but a man's life we're talking about.

Well this is the best news we could've hoped for. To be fair, this is pretty much the first time anything like this happened during the twitter-age. Rumors are spread at a speed we've never seen before.

For instance: I can recall Sky news mentioning that C. Ronaldo tweeted his support, but it was a fan account. News broadcasters haven't adapted properly yet.

It worked for Greece in 2004! Why play football if you could just kill it, and win?

I genuinely think that the support for StokEngland would be immense.

Jokes aside, I dont see why England don't just go this route. Stop trying to play like Spain and just play to their strengths. The fans/media won't give a shit if it ends in success and whilst foreign sources might be upset, I daresay the average Englander won't give a shit.

Can you honestly say that if you just took Stoke and chucked in the likes of Rooney, Gerrard and Hart that they wouldn't do better than the current philosophy?

"Technically gifted up front and solid at the back" is what we hear a billion times every tournament. Cubes of muscle at the back, slightly more evolved creatures in midfield, and cyborg artistes up front is basically the controlling scheme. I mean, that's what you get in regular league football, but the philosophical demand for it gets intensified a hundredfold whenever you get involved in Euros or the World Cup. It gets intensified beyond reason, really.

Solid at the back, solid in midfield, and solid up front is worth a shot. And if they do well, they deserve to be there. If they don't, well - they've hardly altered the historical pattern.

News corporations shouldn't be using Twitter accounts to report information for this exact reason. The minute you stop reporting actual news and just Twitter updates is the day you open yourself up to rumour, tittle tattle, fake accounts and just bare faced lies. Sky should (but don't) know better.

Mind you the BBC are equally as irritating right now. I want to hear about the condition of a young man's life, not what Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney think about it. We all know we are all praying for him to be safe.

Just imagine the bewilderment of the other teams in the competition if England were to turn up like that. All set up in their 4-3-3s, with a holding midfielder to cut out attacks and a high pressing game, only to see Terry just put his foot straight through the ball and blast it straight at Carroll. They most likely simply flee in terror, unable to comprehend the monstrosity they are witnessing. The manager is apoplectic on the sidelines, demanding some kind of punishment for this crime against football. And as England stroll through the now insane defenders to score yet another, a single tear rolls down Fat Sam's cheek. It would be glorious.

Don't miss Real Madrid - Malaga / Udinese - Napoli!

For comic relief you can watch Inter - Atalanta.

Well, we piss away possession in tournaments by lumping it forward anyway. It makes a brute kind of sense to put players on the end of it whose careers are almost wholly based on converting idiotic defensive clearances and imbecilic long balls into chances.

-Are you going to stay in Liverpool, or do you think that a change would be good?

Suarez: I want to stay. Despite what happened, I'm very happy here, on and off the pitch. Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in Europe, an historical one. When I was a boy I watched them play and loved it. And on the Club they are happy with me and want me to stay. They know that what happened had nothing to do with sport and it's history now. I have a contract until 2016 and they already want to renew it. The coach keeps trusting in me and that's very important, specially after I was out during eight matches.
