Yurt brought up a good point with Zidane earlier. Need to offload RVP ASAP so that we can strengthen the whole squad. With the RVP money, that would easily cover Debuchy, Lloris, and Belhanda - three huge problem areas right there. Ditch Bentdner and a couple other deadwood players, and we might scrounge together 10m for a quality center half. The key is now to actually spend the money.... No more repeats of the Mata situation plz.

That would be a dream situation.

What do we want Lloris for? And why is goal keeper a huge problem? You want to ditch szczesny? He will go on to become a fantastic keeper. He's good right now but will only get better and odds on will become one of, if. It, the best in the pl.

"Former Real Madrid star Guti has joined the West Ham contingent at their training camp in Austria.

The 35-year-old midfielder, who played more than 500 times for the Spanish giants during 15 years at the club landed in Austria earlier today before joining up with the rest of the camp at their training base close to Vienna."

Hopefully he can do a job for us and wont cost an arm and a leg in wages, we'll need a fair few goals from midfield if we don't hurry up and buy another striker or two.

Fabiański is probably on his way out.

Won't Lloris alone cost 20m+?

What about Nolan? He scored a decent amount for us.

I'm pretty sure we could screw that down but the thing is why would we want him? Excellent keeper but we already have an excellent keeper who can only get better.

Who considers Scheszny or however you spell it an excellent keeper?

He's a good shot stopper, but he needs more time to develop. Start him in the carling cup and FA cup and then have Lloris start league/CL. We can't keep waiting for players to develop while their mistakes cost us when they can easily develop without being a crutch. Lloris is great all around, has much more experience and if we get two top keepers out of it, them we can always sell one in the end. We are a selling club these days anyways.

Edit: and Lloris has a lowish price tag (20m euros) so... Why not?

Szczesny is not the best, but he isn't a disaster either. No need to spend 12-20(!) on a keeper imo.

Yeah, Nolan got 13 for us last season, but it would be nice to have another attacking-minded midfielder with an eye for goal - Noble doesn't get many outside of penalties, while Collison has a good foot on him, but rarely ever tests the keeper. Perhaps Ravel Morrison will come good this season, lol.

Its obvious what Arsenal need.

1) A left winger with a bit of English steel and experience, preferably between the ages of 27 and 29. Someone who had a poor season last year, so his price will be roughly half of what would normally be needed. Preferably someone who's won a cup in the last year or two, and played decently in the final. That big-match experience is vital. Perhaps someone from the Northeast, that way you can expand your fanbase as well. No idea who fits the bill there, that's for Wenger to work out

2) Someone who's never really had a position, and is versatile and looking for a way to play near the top. Another one with English steel. Preferably someone around 30 years old. Perhaps someone coming in from abroad, to bring some European experience. A player who can play between the lines, or on either wing. Ideally would have had a poor couple of years to drive the price right down. If possible, overweight so the price is low, but you can train the pounds right off of him. Must be a Londoner to appeal to the local fans. Again, any number of players could fit the bill.

3) A hugely experienced centre back nearing the end of his career. Somebody to guide the youngsters through their fledgling careers. Must have won a European Cup so that experience can rub off on others. Maybe somebody who plays for a manager who doesn't fit his style of play, and who the owners will gladly let go to get his wages off the bill. Negotiating lower wages wouldn't be a problem given this prospective players age. Ideally English again, preferably from the Northwest to expand Arsenal's influence. Don't have a clue who that could be

Come one Arsene, you know it makes sense. These are the kinds of players you've been missing since Vieira left, and will see you back at the top in a matter of months

And re: Debuchy, Lloris and Belhanda... I think they'd be cheaper than most expect. Debuchy 6-8m, Lloris 15-20m, Belhanda... 8-10m (judging by Giroud's price). Lots of bargains to be had in Ligue 1. if RVP goes for 30-35m (all in euros) then we could get all three if the board is willing to dip into that Cesc/Nasri money. And if we skip Lloris, then we can go after a center half or a better midfielder. Regardless, the money needs to be spent before prices rise or they're snatched up by other clubs.

Heh Scnzncbncuy is very over-rated. A good young keeper for sure but he makes alot of mistakes. Made alot more than De Gea last season for example.

Who said anything about Liverpool? Its a list of players any club would be desperate to have, that's all. You'd be foolish not to be looking for players with these attributes and histories. Someone should be trying to buy them, I'm sure they exist somewhere. Somebody, surely. Anybody? Please?

Yeah, but De Gea's mistakes happened at the start of the season. Ergo, he's shit

Guti.HAZ! I was hoping he would join the training camp (I think West Ham want him to prove his fitness after 6+ months of no football). Will have to watch all West Ham games this season if he does make the team.

but yeah he's not the greatest but I think a lot of people are judging him on his not so great keeping in the last few weeks of the season. That being said he played the last 5 weeks with a back injury and took injections to keep on playing so that can hardly be kept against him.

Don't you just love it when everyone is an expert on everyone else's team and players?

Might sound funny but it's really not. De Gea had the best goalkeeping stats in the league I think I'm right in saying. By no means is he the league's best keeper...but it's funny that people are quite convinced he is a dodgy keeper yet Sczency is seen as a great one. Neither are true.

By that logic, we'd have no discussion about anybody else but our own teams, where we're all biased anyway.

:lol. Wenger + Gervinho (lol) > Cabaye. Only thing blocking the deal is the fact that his direct competitor in the national team is Sanga...

Fuck.

lol no

If Wenger was so important then why do we have more (and better) French players than you?

You're living in 2004 back when Arsenal were good.
