I'm quite worried about United and wages going forwards.I assume its to keep some semblance of a wage structure at the club; if Welbs is asking for 100k a week (for example) then the club is rightly telling him where to stick it. But if he's asking a normal wage and still being turned away then it is rather worrying - unfortunately we don't know what he or Nani is really after.
Not saying we do have the money; but the club is probably looking at tv and CL money and seeing we dropped 40m+ last year because of where we dropped out of the CL and if we can keep in it this year the money would be well spent.
We still have the lowest wage/turnover ratio in all of Europe's major leagues.
I'm all for financial prudence and we make more money than any other club almost, but that isn't right. The club should be pushing the boat out further on wages and we need to stay competitive. Wages are more important than transfer fees IMO.
Nani is reported to want £140k/week. It sounds crazy but its not really. A few years ago it was but not today. Top players at the top clubs earn 150k+. Nani is one of our best players and he is asking for a just wage. That we're hesitant to give it to him is worrying.
