Maribor score.

Walker have a word with yourself.

We are always so complacent in this competition.

This is getting cyclical. He'll say "no" and then you'll continue banding about how no one supports their local LoI team. We get it. Irish fans are "wannabe English cunts". Can we move on?

I just asked a simple question, and I'm not sure where you got the "wannabee English cunts quote" from. Are you attributing it to me?

Now you're just deliberately trying to antagonize. You're acting like you're superior to others because they don't follow an Irish team. I've not been repeatedly arguing anything. I stopped arguing but you keep bringing the same tired and jaded drivel back again and again.

I just asked some pointed questions based on previous replies you've given. If you're feeling antagonized that's your problem, not mine.

Care to outline what you consider "drivel" in my posts?

I follow Leinster because they're my local team. I've been coached by Leinster coaches when I was in primary school and they've always been open to the public. I follow United because my Dad does.

Fair enough, I've not disputed any of that.

Uneventful first half for Lyon and Bilbao. Any other games going on more interesting? Spurs match?

Spurs 1-0 down at Maribor. Dour game that we controlled, conceded a horrendously soft goal.

As a Kildare man I can't support UCD.

Never went to any Kildare games, I've been to Kildare gaa games and Leinster (scum) rugby games.

i suppose, if my geography is correct, that given KCFC's demise, Shamrock Rovers are probably your local team.

Given that, I'd probably choose to follow a foreign team as well! LOL

Most of what you've posted today is drivel.

This argument is stuck in a loop now.

Lets just stop.

No it was lower than the third tier. It might have been Farnborough. The person had the team's crest as his avatar.

I know I am increadible late on this but I was asleep :lol. That was me. When I first joined I used the Farnborough crest for a couple of months. I loved going to Farnborough when I first moved here a couple of years ago. It was two seasons after they had gotten to the FA Cup 5th round against Arsenal and they were just staying up in the Conference National every year. Then in 2006 we were shut down. Went bankrupt, I was devastated.

We restarted and moved up the leagues. We had more money then other clubs so we got back to the Conference South in 4 years. It was 3 promotions in 4 years. Attendances were back up and the local community was loving it. Two years ago we got to the play offs and had a crowd of 4,500 people at are local ground cheering us on as we scored a late winner to get to the final. The final it self we had the same amount cheering us on even at 3-0 down. The game ended 4-2. Since then the club has had to stop spending money. They spent too much money bringing us up and now the club is in trouble again. We are running on life support according to our Owner who is also our manager :lol The last two seasons have had us with two completely new squads. Only 4 people or so are still here from two seasons ago.

I have stopped going as much recently but moments like

basingstokez5d0w.gif

to pretty much guaranteeing us safety was amazing. There may of only been 500 of us but we went mental as that was the last kick of the game.

This last week sent us into play off places!

The club is going back up the right direction. I just hope we can stay alive.

Sorry for the long post :lol

I see my Footie-GAF life is back to normal.

I was very happy to see that Barca - Celtic recorded. When you guys were talking about it before, I went to see if it was on, and unfortunately it was on a channel that was unavailable to me. But then I looked today and it aired on another channel where it recorded. I've only seen the first half, though; going to bed and I'll finish tomorrow.

Lol it took me like 30 minutes to find this lol

you got me lolerpool

Wait, why are you quoting me in the last quote? :lol I didn't say that.

And the english cunt thing stems from my opinion that you're looking down on Irish-GAF for supporting English teams, hence "wannabe English".

No its not. Just because it offends your precious sensibilities doesn't make it drivel, it just means you've got your knickers in a twist because someone on the internet said something you don't like.

Huh, lol. What's going on here? Footey Gaf needs it's personal Lionel Mandrake for cases like this.

What's the difference between supporting a team because of where you live, who your parents support or just a team that catches your eye? Surely it's the loyalty you show to your chosen team that determines how good a fan you are?

Knowing the culture around the club, actually going to games regularly?

The only difference to me which matters is being able to attend matches...

Quote altered!

I look down on anyone who tries to make out the LoI is some kind of cesspit of rotting stadiums and shit football as a reason not to go watch their local team, or indeed any LoI team. It doesn't stand up to scrutiny. People just should just admit that it's not the LoI's fault that they don't want to follow an Irish club team, its just that they'd rather follow foreign club teams instead.

Personally I find that rather odd, Is there an example of any other country in Europe where there's such a massive disparity between the support a local league has in comparison to a foreign league? I don't believe so but am open to correction.
