These are all adjusted for inflation which is kinda silly. Looks like Crespo is the only one who would be higher at £35m versus £34.5m and his is inflated due to including two players as well as cash. Higuain as the most expensive cash transfer in Serie A history makes little sense to me.

I don't get that impression. Bayern still have essentially all senior players on and are attacking. Barca have played well in the 2nd half but can do nothing in the final third.

I was going to suggest that maybe La Liga started a week or two later so they could just not bring any PL players but it starts the same week. That's going to be a lot of players missing from big clubs. Weird decision for the timing.
