Wow just checked his stats, is he an out and out striker or could he replace Shrek?

Won't replace Rooney as his playstyle is different. It would also mean United are going to a 4-4-2 or that they'll have RVP drop back a little or that RVP willl be an outside forward. He's a pointless signing right now when United need a cm.

I would wait a year to sign him as RVP will be 31, and he'll have another European season under his belt.

I'll do my table once the transfer window has closed and I know for sure the squads.

Ah, what a wuss, doing it after the season's already started :p

Still annoyed about these friendlies coming up. What utter cunt thought it was a good idea to have internationals 3 days before the season starts, and 2 games into the season?

Even if Rooney goes we shouldn't prioritise a replacement signing over a midfield signing.

Jackson Martinez wouldn't be the answer either.

This is probably going to sound ridiculous coming from an Arsenal supporter, but I actually think, after Arsenal, Chelsea have the biggest chance of dropping out of the top 4. with all the new managers, tons of new signings, I wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of shake-up in the established order. I can't see past City for the title.
I completely agree.

This is probably one of my madder predictions but I really believe Chelsea won't challenge for the title this year. I just don't think lightning strikes twice, and I feel Mourinho's return, and all the wank he brings, will destabilise a club that weren't ready to challenge last year.

Oh, and this has probably been posted but it deserves to be DC'd.

Possible DC: Apparently Barrett's saying we're hoping to conclude a deal for Siqueira at around £5m in the coming days. Also Agger's agent is saying he'd be open to a Barca move but, agent talk and all that. Siqueira though...for that price it's a really good buy if it happens.

Premature predictions that'll no doubt be laughably incorrect come May. But fuck it, #yolo, live a little. And I've edited the list to remove all the hipster fucking Mexican league predictions.

Premier League

1. Manchester City (Pellegrini is a brilliant manager, City have bought well)
2. Manchester United (Moyes inheriting a poorly oiled machine that's good at winning)
3. Chelsea (Mourinho finishes similar to Rafa but without the silverware)
4. Liverpool (someone fucking had to)
5. Arsenal (They're having a woeful summer)
6. Tottenham Hotspur (They'll lose Bale)
7. West Bromwich Albion (Steve Clarke continues his path to world domination)
8. Swansea City (BONY)
9. Aston Villa (Maroon Dortmund continue their ascent)
10. Norwich City (Leroy Fer is good in the middle)
11. Southampton (Don't even know. Luke Shaw)
12. Everton (Will lose Fellaini, Martinez isn't as good as people think he is)
13. Fulham (It's Fulham, they could sign Messi and still finish 13th)
14. West Ham (Inevitable Allardyce slump)
15. Cardiff (Shit version of Swansea)
16. Sunderland (Too many signings)
17. Newcastle (Too many French players)
18. Stoke City (Mark Hughes is a shithouse)
19. Crystal Palace (Holloway's weird)
20. Hull (I hope Steve Bruce cries)

FA Cup - Manchester City (Manuel does the double)
League Cup - Arsenal (THEY'VE FUCKING DONE IT)
Player of the Year - Yaya Toure

Champions League - Real Madrid (Bale will score in the final)
Europa League - Ajax (HOW GOOD WOULD THAT BE)
World Cup - Germany

Madrid losing the title was clearly because mourinho had practically alienated the entire squad. They lost it themselves. They look more together, happy and have also added quality under carlo.

Liverpool ahead of Chelsea is "call paramedics, he's having a seizure" worthy.

Not arsed listing out a 1-20 for the BPL, but I think City and Chelsea will slug it out for the title, United will be a couple of points adrift in third, and Arsenal and Spurs will duke it out for 4th, with Spurs grabbing it in the end

High hopes for Liverpool this season, but can't see them going higher than 6th unfortunately

Same, though I think with a bit of luck we could end up in 5th. I also don't think we'll be 12 points behind 4th this time, we'll be closer. We might, with a huge dollop of luck, even go into the last few weeks with a (realistic) outside chance of 4th rather than "It's mathematically possible but let's face it, it's not happening".

At the moment City's squad just looks head and shoulders higher than any other team in the league. They've made a massive improvement with the managerial change too. If Pellegrini can get that squad working together there's nothing they can't achieve.

If Chelsea get Rooney I think they have a much better chance, but at the moment they look to be a few steps behind.
