The thing is is that I don't think you are paranoid. The Glaziers don't want to look like we aren't after the best players but I don't think they give a shit if we sign anyone or not.

If we finish this season in the champions league spots without spending anything then that would probably be a bonus to them because they can fall back on the excuse that it is Moyes first season and he needs time to bed in.
