I'm a soccer noob and trying to get into it (Still picking a team to bandwagon) is it typical for managers to shake hands of fans after games, or is it because this one's new?

Most stadiums have entrance in the middle of the pitch and not in the corner so there's little to no opportunity for that. They do sometimes sigh the autographs, high five people.

More worrying is we spent an entire preseason playing a formation that we changed at half time, all that work counted for nothing. So we are in a position where either we buy to make the formation work, or revert and buy for the old formation which we havent been practicing.
Well we need to buy players for either or any formation.

The 352 certainly wasn't working but it didn't help that so many players who are required to play it were out. 433 did look better but only for about 15 mins.

I didn't think Herrera was great but when he came off and Fellaini came on there was a very noticeable dip in quality. That's probably obvious because Fellaini is crap but there was still some decent passing when Herrera was on.

Is he?

Sure, he's for sale, but I can't imagine Di Maria would want to join a team lingering in mid-table without Champions League football and a very poor squad. The only thing they have is money.

He would accept handsome wages, he wants a better contract after feeling disrespected by his wages in RM.

-Shouldn't have taken off Herrera. Fletcher should have been off instead.
-Wasted the first 45 with Chicha starting.
-When we went away from the 3-5-2, the style of play reverted back to how it was last season. Young reverted back to being shit.
-Januzaj and Nani shouldn't have switched sides. Januzaj stopped getting the ball and wasn't going after players when he did get it either. Disappeared.

Herrera just needs a better partner m8.

Signings are needed, and it's worrisome Woodward had all summer, and now has a week and such to get what the squad needs.

Not happening. Gonna spunk £40m on Claise.

Song, Khedira, Gustavo if you paid the buyout fee. There's plenty of midfielders available who could walk into this team IMO.

I'd take that midfield over ours any day. Not like our boys are gonna score any goals. our midfielders don't even shoot.

We need to get De Jong, Cuardado and Rojo.

Add them to the shopping list. our roster just needs to be flushed down the toilet minus 4-5 players.

LVG already on route to beat Moyes records.
I love this so much.
Tears ahead of ManUre season again.

Let's just enjoy today as it is and not get too far ahead. I have a feeling that Utd will be there or there abouts come the end of the season.

Still it is quite funny.

Penny for Moyes's thoughts anyone?

Well, if anything, the last two weeks of this window will be mental, even if we sign no-one

Think we're fooling ourselves if we think we'll bring in two or three quality players in two weeks now. Maybe a quality player and one or two decent players too. If we're lucky.

MANCHESTER UNITED PLAYER REVIEWS (official)

De Gea
Code:
6.53 - Not a bad performance, but conceded twice.
Jones
Code:
6.11 - Showed his versatility but did nothing positive outside of the early chance that went wide.
Blackett
Code:
6.04 - Had good moments, but when gave Swansea positional advantage too often. Decent debut for a young player, though.
Smalling
Code:
6.37 - The most solid defensively of the United back line.
Young
Code:
5.59 - Bird shit.
Fletcher
Code:
5.88 - Really uninspiring work both as a shield for the back four and as a creative outlet.
Herrera
Code:
6.65 - Generally orchestrated United's maneuvers. Good movement off the ball and versatile.
Fellaini
Code:
5.30 - Didn't have much time to make a difference, but didn't improve United's play in any way.
Nani
Code:
5.91 - Did very little after coming on, didn't display the required directness to make a difference.
Mata
Code:
6.00 - Disappointing performance. Had no major effect on the game, when he clearly has the ability to.
Januzaj
Code:
7.14 - Showed good gumption, ability and willingness. Some sparks that just didn't catch fire.
Rooney
Code:
7.36 - Well-taken goal, generally played positively and an excellent free kick that was inches from being the winner for United.
Hernandez
Code:
6.15 - Early on showed promise mostly because of his quickness and positioning off the ball, but didn't come with his finishing boots on.

In 2004 we started the season with this team:

Howard Neville Keane O'Shea Fortune Miller Djemba Djemba Scholes Bellion Smith Giggs

It's crazy how we went from that to good to back to this.

Yup. I think people find it easy to forget the Djemba Djemba years.

How Fergie managed to keep us in the top four during that rebuild was incredible.
