This is the best.

Manchester United going to be knocked out in Round 2 of the League Cup by MK fucking Dons. Marvelous.

Never - nope, compared to most other teams when it matters - yes. Guess you missed the penalty United should have had at the weekend.

It's also so lucky that Manchester United have been without half their first choice team and a huge chunk of their reserves for the season so far so that means they're having to play 4th and 5th choice players.

They've brought it all on themselves. Not buying enough good players, not having a proper system, not bringing on their academy players well enough. Utd are a rich club with a huge reputation.

Their current situation was brought on by themselves.

Because we don't need to. Our squad isn't a pile of shit like United's is. Arsene would never spend that money on any of those players outside of maybe Mata. We can buy a 60m player if we really want to.

Point is if they need to they can. We can make a big marquee signing once a year now, United can do several if they want to.

Except we can compete financially now. There's no reason we can't buy the rest of the players we need to challenge the league this season.

Nah, not really. Not with Chelsea, City, or United.

United have spent 200m in 2 windows.

We can't compete with that. Not even with our new deals.

Well, maybe we can, but the club are not willing to.

Nah. Splashing out £30m on Shaw, £60m on Di Maria, £37m on Mata and £29m on Herrera in the space of less than 9 months is something we can't do.
It's something that a club should never put themselves in a position where they have to. We really don't need that kind of investment. I normally agree with all your posts but putting us in the same boat as Everton and Spurs is just silly. No way they can attract a Sanchez, Özil or anyone of that quality. We're behind United, City and Chelsea but considerably ahead of the rest financially. Liverpool would be next in line and then a big drop to the others who have no chance at competing or top 4.
