(Balotelli) he's a prick but not a c*nt. everybody is one or the other.

I think we've got a future OT title here.

Liverpool is more like a family than a club, has Mario (Balotelli) ever experienced that before?

RAWK Meltdown @RAWK_Meltdown · 42m
From the most humble, hard-working , professional football player (Suarez) to its very antithesis , a polar opposite (Balotelli)

(Man Utd) Amazing how much money they've spent.

RAWK Meltdown @RAWK_Meltdown · Aug 19
(Besiktas v Arsenal) Always good to see the minions battling to be in the Champs League, poor little guys

RAWK Meltdown @RAWK_Meltdown · Aug 18
(Jose Mourinho) Specialist in Failure.

lol, fantastic account.

Sturridge
Balotelli
Lambert

That's theoretically very good, but there is huge potential for it to blow up in our face. I don't think we can fix Balotelli, especially since he needs massive improvement on 2 fronts. 1 is getting consistency out of him, which would be very difficult. 2 is getting him to stop being a twat, which seems to have improved a bit over the last year or so, but there's a ways to go yet.

Without it being a loan deal though, this could go very, very badly wrong.

Sturridge gets injured - Likely
Balotelli proves to be more trouble than he's worth - Likely

If those 2 things overlap, we'll have wasted £17m or whatever it is, and still be relying on Lambert.

Well the Man Utd spending quote is on point at least. They've spent 75-something on three players. We've spent more but recouped 80% of that and filled holes all over. Man Utd is filling one hole pretty nicely but the other holes are already packed and they just keep shoving more in.

You really think you can get both ? Get outta here :lol
You misunderstood.
Balotelli is going to fuck the bib-theory right up though if he can't put one on.
I forgot some of the fucking hilarious things he did.

If he comes to Liverpool and Sherwood goes to Palace it'll be a double whammy.

Hopefully Sunderland's offer for Borini still stands and we can essentially pay £3 million for Mario. I've got an image in my head of him and Jordan Henderson arm in arm, grinning from ear to ear and it's hard to shake.

Balotelli would be an interesting signing. If b rod can keep him in-line he could be fantastic, question of whether he can do that is the big one.

Although I suspect he won't cause them the same problems as Suarez did, and I doubt they'll print t shirts for him either.

Costa vs balotelli, that would be interesting…

Not sure what you mean. Both Shaw and Rojo are needed signings for the new system.

Fuck Pep.

Not my choice.

Raheem is going to get destroyed by the pressure he's under.

Davis shouldn't be a target for a team in the CL, ever.

Balo is an idiot. He isnt growing up, he isn't misunderstood, he is just a childish inconsistent footballer who wasted his talent.

We can see how Raheem does this season. I think he will be fine.

He doesn't need to grow up, he just needs to do his job and support Studge.

Brendan's throwing himself in front of a bus here, I can feel it.

Someone on my twitter fees said they thought it was a desperation signing… I don't agree with that but it's a signing that could go either way. Talent is there but is the temperament?

Maybe I've forgotten how crazy he is but I don't think it'll be that hard to keep him in line.

Plus you know one of these Italian clubs will cough up £15m for him in 2 years even if he does flop.

It is a desperation signing of sorts.

We ruled him out publicly a few weeks back but the striker situation has stagnated to the point whereby he's the best option available.

In terms of talent and potential he's vastly above any of the current options (Bony, Eto'o etc) and at £3 million more than Borini he also represents a bit of a bargain.

He's the sort of player we usually go for: obvious talent and potential, hasn't really flourished or succeeded at previous club, with the right coaching could be excellent. Balotelli is that to the absolute extreme, though. He's like Sturridge on crack.

Great option to have, though.

And there's always that.

Agree with Viva in thinking he's not that bad and I could see him doing well.

Wish Liverpool would stop making decent signings while we flounder in a cloudy puddle of mediocrity though.

Balotelli is too much of a high risk to take IMO. Overrated.

Might disrupt the good spirit you have off the pitch too.
He might, or he might become everyone's best mate.

Football's about taking risks, Sturridge was a risk and many said it was a silly signing.

50 games and 36 goals later...

If you get Balotelli in a good place then he'll score goals. His record shows that he's a good striker and will perform when in the right frame of mind. I'm not sure if he's a worthwhile investment though. Liable to lose it at the drop of a hat and he has periods like the World Cup or his last season with City when he doesn't play well and can't score for shit. Something like 2 goals from 20 odd games in his final season for them.

If we signed Balotelli we'd be looking at something like:

Mig
Moreno-Lovren-Skrtel-Manquillo
Coutinho-Gerrard-Henderson
Markovic-Sturridge-Sterling

For our starting eleven with a change to the diamond formation like this:

Mig
Moreno-Lovren-Skrtel-Manquillo
Gerrard
Can-Henderson
Sterling
Balotelli-Sturridge

For when things are going wrong. That's pretty good.

@FabrizioRomano: Mario Balotelli confirmed he'll join Liverpool arriving in sport center: "This one is my last day as Milan player". He'll play for #LFC.

Looks like this will go through today.

Balotelli is arguably the most gifted footballer on earth. He has natural speed, power, strength, technique, he can header, he can dribble, he can finish, he has the superstar arrogance, but he is the laziest player I have ever seen. I have never seen him work for the whole time he is on the pitch.

He is a good guy who does a lot of work for charity, but he just wants to act like a frat boy and that is what people will remember him as. He has played alongside some of the hardest working players in the game and non of their work ethos has rubbed off on him.

I love him because he is Italian, but until he dedicates himself 100% of the time he will never be anything more than above average player. I am sure if he goes to Liverpool he will get 10-goals but he is a player who has the potential for 30+ if he just gave it his all.

No he's not. Never understood where this came from.

He's talented sure. He's not some kind of ridiculously amazingly never before seen natural talent though.

Balotelli was always everyone's best mate at City, the team loved him. What he did in the dressing room was never much of a problem, it's what he did outside of it including on the pitch.

He just doesn't think anything through. I don't think that's a growing up thing, it never got better at least. He never did half of the stories that came out in the press, but it never mattered. The press sold newspapers and the public wanted to read about it. In the end, everyone at City had to comment on everything and it became a huge strain on everyone.

The press will come up with new stuff and they will keep re-reporting it week after week, month after month. And your club will be forced to comment on it time after time, same with the players.
