They won't, and can't, punish people for having debt.

What they could do is include the debt repayments in the ffp calculation which they don't do at the moment.

Even if they did that the impact on United, Madrid and Barca would be negligible. The debt repayment at United for instance is about 5% of turnover. I assume it is even less at the Spanish clubs.

I don't know.

I believe I'm making a valid point that a club can't be referred to as "major" if they don't fill their stadium or have any sort of sporting foundation within 90% of their own continent.

I feel like you're just being petty, Meier, and not really addressing the facts.
Personal assistant at a local what's on magazine (think Time Out but for Clapham, Wandsworth, Putney, Wimbledon, Kingston...).

Seemed decent. 9-5:30 Mon to Fri, 16k starting salary (not much but living at home will save me bucketloads), working with the editorial, sales, production and design team, basically just doing whatever's asked of me.

Interview went well, I got on with the guy, so hopefully I get good feedback at least.
Nice one.

Get me some fun tings in Clapham / Wandsworth pls.

Just seems unfair to punish that. Our stadium is our debt but as long as payments are made and it's under control I don't see why we should be punished. If we got behind on our payments but still brought players then fair enough but if it's managed and all parties are happy then wtf UEFA?

it's such a pedantic and petty fight.

The best thing about City being unable to fill their ground is that theyve made a concerted effort to make out that the reason for it is that their fanbase is from some kind of underclass who are all on the dole.

Fucking hilarious.

£25 to go to the CSKA game. Let's see how many people are at that one.

... I don't really see how that's relevant. It doesn't matter that I don't go, but 75k go to Old Trafford every week (and believe me, if I lived in the area I'd try and go as much as possible; the reason I don't is because of trains and hotels and whatnot doubling my day out). Surely City have enough fans so that if some choose not to go to a Champions League fixture, enough will make the journey anyway?

You know when you read a post without looking who posted it?

I can always tell a Scum post. It's so calming. I just know it's him. Comforting.

I need to get my Wii U from my parent's house at some point this month so I can play Bayonetta. I don't have a TV here but I can treat it like an over-sized handheld.

YES EMI!

We're offering Blackett a new 50k per week contract.

I just don't know anymore..

Wut?! I'm in the wrong job. 😒

Fixed for realism.
Wooden pls. He'd rather play for out U21s than play for those clubs.

You missed out on Lloyd bullying Dean today. Was hilarious. He kicked Dean off the PS4.

Januzaj already got paid.

Dunno how much but it'll be more than £50k considering how desperate United would have been to keep him.
Next will be McNair.

we also need to put De Gea on £200k and keep him at United.

Next they'll be arguing about how much their respective sponsors give them.

Oh wait.

Pointing to off the field stuff is proper grasping at straws stuff. Attendance arguments are the absolute fucking pits.

L1nett we are classy, match-going people. We're in a thread full of internet hooligans. Hold me.

I dunno, is it unfair?

In Arsenal's case the stadium is an asset which is bringing money in. You made the move and that's now helping you rack up the profits - which in turn helps you buy Özil and Sanchez. To me that's very much a part of the clubs "football economy" if I can use that phrase.

Although the current rules mean stadium expansion costs aren't counted so in your case, I think, any repayment of that debt wouldn't be included.

Shit, I didn't go the West Brom game.

Apologies Manchester City Football Club for my utterly baseless opinion.

Linny, do you think if Bradford made it to the Champions League, you'd sell out your stadium for every game?
.

of course, as would Sunderland I expect. We were averaging near 10k in league two playing fucking Accrington Stanley.

But like who cares if folk wanna pretend about how big or small a certain club is. If people have been following football long enough even arguing about the size of clubs is a dreary and cyclical argument. Some of the biggest clubs in the country arguably are in the second tier yet nobody gives two monkeys.

and yeah I get that they are your wee rivals and haha let's have a giggle at the blue side and all that but it's a trifle boring my man

You are right of course. City didn't even full their stadium during the run in for the title last season. They don't have the following. They are major in terms of competing in the English game but as a club in general have a LONG way to go to be a major club in any other sense.

In our case we would be fine because Stan Kroneke would undoubtly get rid of that debt rather than risk us getting kicked out of the CL but in terms of ffp as long as your income the clubs bringing in, without being bankrolled by owners, covers the debt payments and purchase of players meaning self sustained then clubs should be within the rules?

Asking clubs to clear all debt but not have owners put their money in to do it and expect clubs to make the money to clear it is unrealistic. It's just impossible.

When did I say your opinion was baseless, Arnold? Touchy, like Brendan. Only in a less sexual way.

Vito Mannone wishes he could play at a club with 75,000 a week. Unfortunately he isn't good enough.

He just knocks them out of cups instead m8.

The article is pretty wishy washy about Blackett. I mean it's barely an article at all.

What is interesting/worrying is that he's another player who's in the final year of his contract. Seems to happen with everyone coming out of the academy. I think Wilson is in the same boat.

Does that mean you respect me when I go to some shitty tiny stadium in Denmark? We don't even win stuff anymore either, we are literally identical at this point.

I was once quoted in the newspaper for calling a ref a whore on twitter. That is how small time our league is.

Haven't been to a home game in over a year.

It's all about them #awaydays

You can only apply for United away tickets if you're a season ticket holder, is that not true of all clubs? pls 360

what I'd give to go to Loftus Road or Selhurst Park and save myself fifty fucking quid.

An ambiguous post about a subject that I'm five foot deep (up to my neck) in raises the blood pressure somewhat.

Oh well. Let's get off City. Meier fucked off to a BBQ and DC's playing Mario Kart so ultimately we're like a bunch of fucking lads at a disco.

I need sleep. I'm up in six hours. Meant to be going out tomorrow night. Be on my arse at this rate.

We were winning it for about 40 minutes.

It was one of the best 40 minutes of my life, though. Being at Wembley, watching my team beating a team worth probably 7 or 8 times what ours is. Then Toure had to go and spoil it all by mishitting a cross.

Then we go out in round three this year. Which, coincidentally, is one round further than Man United again.

Fuck off Wiblur, you Wilbur.

Social media is the new hot topic on Bundesliga shows, it pretty much sucks that there is some random dude/woman who basically reads all that nonsense that piles up over the game....

I've not read it yet. Will do now.

You're right about the academy players. Wilson needs a contract and I read that Perreira needs one too. However in the latters case, he already said he's talked with LVG and it's nothing to worry about. Apparently LVG rates him very highly and they'll get something sorted.

It's good to see Wilson playing with the 1st team too. He's gonna be great. Let him loose on WBA.

fuck i've dribbled citrus diet coke everywhere

I was supposed to be going out after work tonight but I couldn't be fucked; my manager was like, "come out, it's just me and my girlfriend right now but I'm sure we can get a few more"

by that he meant the paedophile and a hungarian who said that there's only one thing worse than child porn and that's gay porn

i couldn't handle the contrast in opinions so i scarpered

Keane again. Think they've squeezed all the juice out of this one now.

Did you get an invitation to the unveiling of Ferguson’s statue? All the other great ex-United players were and turned up.

I think I did, yeah, but I don’t think he invited me. It was probably his committee, or his son, or whatever, but why would I go to that? That was all power and control to him.

Ruud van Nistelrooy went.

But I’m not Ruud van Nistelrooy.

But he fell out with him badly too.

Not as badly as me.

But was Ferguson inviting you not a conciliatory gesture?

No, no, don’t …

Power and control, you say?

Yeah … so he comes in and we’re all standing there [gesturing sycophantic applause] and he’s: ‘I’ve got you where I want you.’

Have you seen Alf Inge Haaland’s response?

I played against him, I know what he’s like.

So what’s he like to play against?

[Long pause] Weak.

Mentally?

Everything. [Long pause] Average player.

You didn’t look impressed by José Mourinho trying to shake your hand the other week?

No, because the game is still going on.

Why did he do it? Was it him after power too?

I don’t mind all that but the game is still going on. It’s disgraceful. I’ve seen him doing it to other managers; it is a disgrace. The game is still going on. You wouldn’t do that on a Sunday morning, you would get knocked out.

I'd have to be a top bellend wooden to say folk who don't go football aren't actual fans hhaha. That's dumb as fudge

Conversely, that's why I get so irate about ticket prices and the like. I want more people to experience how fucking good live football yet more and more football is becoming a hobby of the wealthy and running away from its roots and by doing so ripping the soul out of clubs.

Fuck off Wiblur, you Wilbur.

If you had to face Delle Alpi you'd have fallen quicker too.

One and only time I've been to Wembley (for a match mind, saw Muse there) was the Community Shield where SuperClev came on and wrecked minge. Was brilliant. City didn't know what fucking hit them.

It's nearly 4 am and I was planning on watching The Raid 2 but I simply can't stop Curb.

Everything annoys him, it's incredible.

What I find best about Curb is the amount of times I find myself agreeing with Larry :lol. I don't know whether I should be worried or everyone else is wrong.

Sensational show though, truly brilliant.

I'm going to read it tomorrow, apparently he loved his time at SAFC. Shame it ended sourly but his first two seasons here were great.

CBA to look up the extract but have a google for him and Kevin Dillon. Quite the story!

He could be just pointing out that gay porn is worse in quality, not on a moral sense. Don't be so angry

That can be also pretty frustratring if it's running the other way around.
Bundesliga is pretty cheap in comparsion, but it's nearly impossible to get a ticket for the standing area unless your season ticket holder, which is also pretty impossible...
That's my experience with Dortmund over the last few years.

Apparently most of it is quite chilled out and funny and what not but obv the bits that have been picked for headlines aren't those bits.
