We play so fucking stupidly

Can't defend set pieces, yet we give them away for free. Only get space to cross when its Lambert who has passed into that space, leaving nobody to attack resulting cross. Constantly cross for headers even though O'Shea and Brown are at their best dealing with those. Never give the midfielder on the ball an avenue for a pass forward or one-two. Has to go sideways, or they have to run forward themselves. Nobody dragging players out of position to make space for others.

Doesn't help that we can't even weigh our passes back to the defenders, so they have to take 5 seconds controlling the ball before we can even get attacks going again.

Just don't have players with the attributes to consistently break down a tight defense. Sterling's pace? Pointless. Coutinho's through balls? Pointless. Lambert's physicality? Pointless so far.

We need to either force a mistake, or attack with a lot of passing accuracy and pace. Neither looks likely. We don't press high enough for the first, and we don't move enough to create the space for the second
