Man I love me some 80s teen flicks. TBC is one of the better ones. Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Ferris Bueller... All are awesome.

The more recent equivalents would have to be Mean Girls, 10 Things I Hate about You, and maybe Can't Hardly Wait.

Go is a fun movie but probably a little out of the "teen" range.

Not a teen movie at all but have you guys seen Pirates of Silicon Valley? Think it's mostly because of the era I grew up in and the culture I've been exposed to but I think there's no better guilty pleasure for me than dramatized entrepreneur stories (especially centered around technology). On that note I loved The Social Network.

Pirates of Silicon Valley is one of my very favorite movies.

i love courtroom dramas! 12 angry men is the best in that genre for sure. i bought the lawrence blu-ray months ago, but i still haven't watched it (the first and only time i saw it was when i was in high school, i think). i saw a few scenes, though, and it looks absolutely stunning.

12 Angry Men is my all time favourite. It's the perfect film for me. It's pretty much all character. I think that's part of the reason I like Breakfast Club so much too.

My top 10 that come to my head:

The Big Lebowski
Lost in Translation
Drive
Blow Up
Pirates of Silicon Valley
There Will Be Blood
Terminator 2
Brazil
Zodiac
Pulp Fiction

Juve bros, Simone 'Best' Pepe will undergo an operation. :/ He and Marotta are saying the season may not be over yet, but we all know it is. We already knew, now it's official. This really sucks, he was one of our best players last season. Goodbye 4-3-3. :(((

Sorry Zabo, I have a soft spot for Kepler. He's the best Pepe in my heart <3

Lightning hasn't posted yet.

Post if you're ok, Lightning.

Im wondering this as well.

I should mention that my list wasn't my top 10, that was just a quick 10 of a wider number I would consider being some of my favourites of all time.

Lost In Translation is really good. Jackie Brown is my favourite Tarantino.

I haven't seen Lost In Translation, but Jackie Brown is probably my favourite Tarantino too. That or Basterds, depending on what day you ask me I suppose.

Fuck I should watch more films. So many I still need to see. No fucking time.

I grew up on Marx Brothers films. My dad would watch them all the time. Groucho has the quickest wit and best delivery of comedy I've ever seen on film.

Yeah I'm not a fan of Wong Kar Wai actually. I've always felt lukewarm toward Asian directors who fetishize classic western aesthetics.

I do like it when you find something in a foreign film that you'd be pretty hard pressed to find stylistically in an American film. Thirst and The Host really stood out to me recently as just having that difference that you won't find in most mainstream Western films.

Thirst in particular. That was a fucking great movie.

Django was great, asshole. My taste is great, commie asshole.

Yeah it's impossible to make a "firm top 10" putting aside that its pointless anyway, what's number 6 today may be number 3 tomorrow and vice versa.

mine, too. i've grown to like tarantino less with each of his films. django didn't really do it for me.

He needs to go back to making dramatic films. His 2000s films are fun, but they're nowhere near as interesting as his 90s output.

This thread needs more Charlie Kaufman love. Being John Malkovich, Adaptation and Eternal Sunshine are all some of my favorite movies (Synecdoche, New York was kind of a miss when I first watched it but I'll probably give it another shot one of these days). No one makes movies that are funnier or more depressing.

I haven't seen Synecdoche, but the other three are brilliant. Eternal Sunshine especially is just an utterly dynamite concept that marries the weird of the first two with something just fucking poignant and beautiful. Kate Winslet probably puts in my favourite female performance in ES.

Being John Malkovich is awesome. So was Eternal Sunshine. I have a feeling as an actor, you'd see a lot of John Malkovich as well as Kenneth Branagh on Salazar's list.

As an actor I really like Gael Garcia Bernal. Amores Perros and The Science of Sleep were both excellent movies he's starred in

Bebe had another good game for Rio Ave today/yesterday. He's been great so far this season, i'd say even better than our wingers.

They play Porto on saturday, Bebe's gonna tear that defence apart :p

I said it the other week, but I think my favourite actor is Brian Cox. Just fucking wonderful in everything, even small roles like Adaptation. When he turned up in Deadwood I was so happy.

These are all amazing. I'd add The Matrix and The Last of the Mohicans too

No love for Casino or Goodfellas from yall. I love the Italian-American mob culture. Where are Juve fans when you need them?

django took about 30-40 minutes to get going. foxx has little to no screen presence; i barely noticed him in the film. he's such a weak actor... dicaprio on the other hand was fantastic and so was jackson. schultz is basically the nice guy version of landa, but will somehow end up winning an oscar again (not that they matter that much, but still). it also took several endings for it to actually end--it was kinda like return of the king in that respect.

my tarantino ranking:

1. jackie brown

2. reservoir dogs
3. pulp fiction

4. kill bill vol. 1
5. inglourious basterds

6. django unchained
7. kill bill vol. 2

8. death proof

hnnggghhhhh so awesome

Badlands is the best Malick I've seen. Was him before he turned into a weird pretentious fuck.

the new world is the greatest film of all-time.
