Yi Yi is a good shout. It's my favorite Chinese film. Havin said that I almost never watch Chinese folms

Raging Bull
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

These are all amazing. I'd add The Matrix and The Last of the Mohicans too

No love for Casino or Goodfellas from yall. I love the Italian-American mob culture. Where are Juve fans when you need them?

Casino was overlong and had a far less interesting De Niro performance and a far too repetitive Pesci performance. But Goodfellas is incredible.

Marty has like 3, maybe 4 better movies tho.

django took about 30-40 minutes to get going. foxx has little to no screen presence; i barely noticed him in the film. he's such a weak actor... dicaprio was fantastic and so was jackson. schultz is basically the nice guy version of landa, but will somehow end up winning an oscar again (not that they matter that much, but still). it also took several endings for it to actually end--it was kinda like return of the king in that respect.

You know, first time round I really enjoyed it but I was still disappointed because it was so linear and I just wasn't surprised by it. Second time round knowing what's coming, it flows so much better and its so much more enjoyable.

My QT rating:

IB = JB > DU = PF = RD > KB1 > KB2

Need to get round to seeing Death Proof, but getting the whole family to get the time to sit down and watch the film is so fucking hard

The Conversation is great. I love cynical 70s thrillers; All the President's Men and Chinatown are also favorites. A quality thriller is so hard to come by these days...

edit: I think Django is really poorly edited. QT way overdid it on the licensed songs, there's no rhythm to the movie.

I adore My Neighbour Totoro! I'm a glutton for any Ghibli. Not sure if I could pick a favourite of those - maybe Nausicaa if someone really twisted my arm.

All the President's Men is absolutely brilliant. Great choice.

Watching Millonarios vs Tijuana. Is Colombian football always this bad, Andrés?

The Colombian league yes. I think Millos has looked ok its more of a condemnation of liga MX querido. The Argentines usually poach our good players when they're really young. I get the Colombian league on gol tv but I can't watch that crap.

Chinatown was brill.

I think apart from Django, the only film of the 2010s I'd give full marks to so far is Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, which I seem to recall you not being a fan of (?). But that shit was tense as fuck, felt like a proper 70s thriller.

I despise TTSS. What a boring, incoherent piece of shit.

I'd give it a 2/5 or so. But it's just so dull.

Regulus Tera

Romanes Eunt Domus
Mexico u20: Sánchez; Flores; Briseño; Hernández; Zamorano; Bueno; Corona; Fuentes; Van Rankin; Luna y Escoboza

Van Rankin is the kid of Dutch ascent with the hot sister somebody was asking for like three threads ago.

No wonder Mexican football has gone to the shitter, we keep hiring players from your country.

Castle in the Sky > Nausicaa > Mononoke = Totoro > Spirited Away > everything else.

Mm, it certainly wasn't as taut as Basterds or Dogs was. But part of me feels like QT did that knowingly because that's the type of film the Westerns he's harkening back to are like. He's very deliberate like that.

Thought so :lol, but yeah of the 2000's that and Django are the only films I've seen (and I haven't seen many, bear in mind! Film viewings have fallen well behind) that I'd give full marks to.

Arnie is my TTSS bro 4 lyf.

MARK STRONG. He's another one of my favourite actors, just fucking dynamite in everything, even shit like Body Of Lies and Rocknrolla

If the Social Network counts as 2010s, I'd probably give that full marks, if only just. I really despise Sorkin's style, but he and Fincher made a good enough team that I didn't mind it.

You know I've never quite understood the cultish love of Anchorman. I saw it at the cinema when it came out. Thought it was really amusing but not earth shattering. Fast Fforward a handful of years and I meet a bunch of people that can quote the entire movie back to me. So bizarre.

2 many malick. Wasn't a fan of Tree Of Life outside the cosmos sequence and Pitt's performance. C'est la vie. Anchorman though, HUZZAH

They're welcome to join Barça-gaf. It's a natural fit.

You guys don't like Unforgiven?

Clint can't act, Morgan Freeman is a cunt. Richard Harris was brill though.

Yeah that was 2010 I think (wiki says ja). Really entertaining, I liked that. Looked gorgeous.

sally menke was his editor, but she died. someone else did django. that might explain it.

haha, it's my favorite comedy. i've seen it about six times already, i think, and it still makes me cry with laughter.

I can do that :lol

It's just so fucking watchable. There's cunts like Noel Fielding where it goes too far in being random for the sake of it "oh the purple moth has dropped his biscuits LOOOOOOOOOOOL no you fucking prick"

but Anchorman is generally brilliant. I'm scared its lightning in a bottle shit and the second one is going to suck.

All you cunts saying Jackie Brown are fucking hipsters. IB and PF are much better. Maybe even Django. Admittedly, I haven't seen JB in a long time (should get around to it), but it's never stuck in my mind as much as those three above.

I think we can all agree Death Proof is easily the worst, though.

Watched this for the first time the other day. It's a very nicely produced and charming animation - had to take a leap of faith with some bits of the storyline but it was worth it.

I personally thought it was the best
Time-travel story ever conceived
just because it doesn't take it far and what they have, they did it with a bit of common sense. I really thought the Story was complete and satisfying, and that is the best compliment I can give to a movie.

and yeah, there is plenty of charm to have as well.

Give it another try. It's Tarantino at his most restrained, and that can be a good thing.

Pulp Fiction is undoubtedly his best though.

edit: I fucking love Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead. Though the movie version is pretty terrible, imo.

i admit that anchorman isn't perfect. the battle scene kinda didn't do it for me and luke wilson--i'm sure he tried really hard--just didn't work.

Main thing I remember about it is that it's got a godly score. dat Clint Mansell.

Spirited Away is probably my favorite. The bathhouse is such a lovely location.

Those are all great, but I've never been moved to tears in any other movie, ever, as much as in "Grave of the Fireflies". It's worth a watch for any Ghibli and WW2 fans.

I'll leave you with one controversial fondness of mine for the night. I really like Jerry Maguire. I get odd glances with that.
