Football Thread |OT18| Have you ever seen a Mackem punch a horse?

My point was Barca were on the receiving end of two very dodgy decisions by referees across two very, very, very important games and yet they did not bitch and moan for long like most people in the thread claim they are specialists at ;D

Apart from sending an official letter of complaint to UEFA the next morning :lol

They had every right to. They didn't gloat much about it in the match. In fact it is better for a team to fight for their rights each and every time a major dodgy decision can cost them. Good on them.

It's because of the way the games were lost. RM losses were unfuriating for the players. No way to get anywhere near the ball, complete dominance and a feel of helplessness.
Even for me as someone who just watches, it was infurating. One team hogging possession, no tackles in time no real chances.
The most brutal RM defeats were easyily more brutal than any of the Barca losses.

The 4-1 Madrid win to end the Ronaldinho era was pretty brutal. But then Roanldinho, Deco etc just didn't care anymore whereas Sergio Ramos is still in his prime and cares a lot. But yeah the manner of Barca's play certainly contributes to frustration and lashing out by Madrid when they got thrashed.

Misread this as Wii :p

Are you going to die soon? :(

Nah. Got a fair bit of money saved up though, and don't want it to automatically go to my parents as they are utter morons sometimes with their money. Would rather it went in a trust fund for any nephews and nieces.

And I'll die before buying a Nintendo console :p

Yes, they have the right to.

But as far as I'm concerned it qualifies as bitching and moaning.

Barcelona fucking reported the ref from the PSG game to Uefa. :lol

Which is a better way of going about it isn't it? If Chelsea did that for Ovrebo(which they probably did) then there is nothing wrong with it.

I meant they did not bitch and moan on the pitch during the match like they used to.

If that was Chelsea I would also support such a complaint bro, it is their right IMO.

I remember how much worse they used to be on the pitch itself during matches a couple of years ago.

It might not be players complaining on the field and they might have the right to, but that is a terrible example when they did bitch after the game lol

Of course it's the better way (and yes, Chelsea did that too), but sure it counts as bitching and complaining too lol

He deserved to be, he had a shocker that night.

Agreed. It could have cost them a place in the semi finals.

Bitching and moaning tends to have a negative connotation to me. When you are at the receiving end of a wrong decision in life, you filing a complaint is not considered "bitching and moaning" at all IMO. They filed one report, as they had every right to, and barely said a word after it.

What was the purpose of signing Pep for Bayern? I mean the current coaching team formed a team that has absolutely destroyed the national competition, and it has show a great level in CL.

Also, i am hearbroken about Gotze.

To be fair, clubs need to do this more often. If you're not allowed to criticise the officials directly, and there's a stigma attached to criticising them through official channels, how are they ever going to improve? The standard of officiating throughout Europe is disgraceful, especilly considering that Europe is one of the two hubs of football, and the CL is the biggest club competition in football

I don't really consider it bitching though Wooden - thing is if they kept quiet it is not a good thing in my opinion - be it Barca or any other team. Referees have to be under the microscope for major errors, even if it doesn't seem to change much in their errors of judgment during any given match.

Again : I'm not against doing that. But pretty hilarious example when they actually did bitch in official manner to Uefa after exactly that match.

Fady, Messi, wtf are we doing.

Bayern hate is strong atm and we are talking about Barca and refs. Fuck. lol

haha!! Just like the old days bro. I must admit, really scared of Bayern. And to be honest it feels like Barca are the underdogs tonight. Bayern are simply known to be the powerhouse and I hope Barca can pull an upset.

So who's gonna keep Messi under wraps tonight, or try to anyway.

Martinez?

He has tried before for Bilbao, let's just say he wasn't the greatest choice.

They need to do what Milan did in the first game, keep switching the players on him and make sure there is always at least one close to him.

edit
What spidye said, get those 3 to chase him one by one when he doesn't have the ball. Two when he does.

and injure him? :p

seriously there's no way to stop him. even an injury is harmless

I just find it funny that some people in here will look for any reason to dislike Barca when there are plenty of proper reasons to dislike us.

Occasionally exceptionally boring football and taking advantage of the TV deal are the only reasons to dislike the club imo, and the TV deal is entirely your FA's fault. Plus there's an air of self-daubed superiority around you. Alba is the only player I genuinely dislike when he's on the pitch, can't stand him.

Sturridge was so good. Think we should drop the idea of playing one of him and Suarez on the wing, and just go lop-sided based on the Chelsea match
