Correction: Bayern are throwing around their own money. They complained about rich people buying clubs as toys and clubs running on debt, not about clubs spending money they have accumulated.

Still don't get the connection. Nothing he did personally changes anything about the need for financial regulation in football. Hoeneß is not that important.

While I think the whole Götze situation is unsavoury, there's a difference between the spending City does and Bayern does.

If you don't see the pitfalls of spending money not actually generated by the football club and being reliant on an outside entity while accumulating large amounts of debt and liabilities then you should prepare well for what's coming - might want to start with the Leeds 'We're not famous anymore' song.

What difference does that make? City's owner didn't put the club in debt to build a squad, he spent money that was his to build a competitive squad, and Bayern had launched more than 1 scathing attack on it. What they were basically trying to say was that it was unfair but at the same time it's okay for them to cripple the competition in Germany with superior financial superiority.

The Dortmund fans are right. Bayern are like a poison. You look at City now, they could buy Falcao anytime they want, they could get Isco anytime they want etc... but they don't because of the financials. They passed on Hazard because they didn't want to offer Hazard the silly wages he wanted.

Bayern on the other hand want everyone to spend within their means because they have a monopoly in Germany and therefore can do whatever they like in an otherwise poor league and it suits them. FUCK BAYERN!
