Got to run a few races earlier with some of you earlier and it was a blast. The Car Club feature is going to drastically increase my online racing. For those that don't know I am UR BUS IS SHORT on LIVE.

anyone else having issues with racing indy due to a combination of it being so flat, lacking trackside objects as markers, and the jaggy shimmering on the horizon? i cant see half the god damn turns until its too late :(

I had the same problems and I didn't like the track the first few times I raced it in A class cars, until I had a race with my C425 Lamborghini Miura. It's easier learning a new track in a slower car IMO, although I got the best C class Indy time from the GAF club in that particular race with the Miura so it's not that slow really :)

There is just so much to do and see in the game, I haven't even scratched the surface yet.
I keep on repeating races just so I can see, feel and hear the differences between each car. I spend hours just doing that and by the time I want to try something else, it's time to go to work or sleep.

I've received some different cars to others in my file depot thing from the T10 Community Team. An M3-GTR, Top Secret 0-300 Supra and the Top Secret Silvia. I know the TS Silvia came from the game with dev, but does anyone know what I would've scored the others for? They're all pretty boss cars, so it must've been something awesome I did!

Yep, it's a real problem. I know the track furniture is technically 'correct' at Indy, but the visual clues on the infield at Sunset Peninsula are so much better from a gameplay perspective.

I still find myself questioning a couple of Turn 10's track choices in this game.

Oh man, there's this song that's playing while the camera pans around my red AE86 in the "Spotlight" homespace and... I dunno... it kinda sounds like (really well produced) electronic porno music. I wish I could get these songs somewhere :(

2010 Devon GTX - 300,000

2010 Bertone Mantide - 1,000,000

Quick GAF, which do I pick?!

Also, I got no VIP gift cars. :/ Feels bad man.

I put the Mantide in the car club if you want to test it before buying. It's mental.

Jube, quick question: I have start playing with the regular version of the game, my LCE is coming today or tomorrow. Will I get all my LCE/preorder/VIP/whatever in retroactive fashion too after I enter all codes? Thanx in adv!

And now some rant. Big rant.

I am mad beyond imaginable. Lead by all official announcements and information that we got from Turn10 in past months I have invested a lot for my upcoming Forza Motorsport 4 experience. I have recently purchased a new 250GB Slim and Kinect only for Forza, and iI am proud owner of Fanatec GT2 Clubsport Edition, both in order to enjoy FM4 as much as possible.

Rant starts:

1) How on Earth can I use headtracking when damn Kinect can't even SEE ME when I driving sitting in my cockpit? I spent two hours in repositioning Kinect all over my gaming room - on top of the plasma, in front of the plasma, on the central speaker, on side speakers from angle - but that damn device just do not want to register my head - and it is not a small head - in the damn white rectangular while I'm sitting in the cockpit.

And no, do not point me at this video. That TV is some 32"/37" crap, I have a 50" plasma in the very center of my gaming room and when I place Kinect on it's top it just can't see my head, no matter of settings, both in-game or console. So, no headtracking for me, no left/right in-cockpit looking. beautiful.

Not even to mention how I can't use Kinect in Autovista unless I get up from the cockpit, move both of my cockpits to the walls and than allow damn R2D2 to see me in my full 6'2 glory.

2) Whose brilliant idea was to reconfigure button settings for the wheel in order to change perfect layout from Forza 2/Forza 3 regarding left/right views? I found out about infamous "Layout 4", but there is really no explanation to mess the logical and intuitive setting as it was previously with this abomination. Come on..

3) I am beyond mad about the steering assist issue. In FM4 Demo I couldn't even emphasize the overall influence of the assist on actual gameplay until I get the game yesterday and started to play. This damn assist is completely ruining the sensation of driving, period.

I took a F40 on Mugello for a spin on Top Gear Rivals Race. Turn. Grip reduced. Countersteer. Snap > assist kicks in. Snap > weight is automatically transfered by assist. Snap > now I have to artificially countersteer again in order to fight the assist. Grip regained. Apex passed. What is this, really? When will this be fixed? Will it ever be fixed? Why was I led to believe that "Simulation" setting will be non-assisted? It was that promise that made me buy 500 euros worth of Fanatec GT2 Clubsport edition. With this kind of "simulation" I could easily stay with original Microsoft Wireless Force Feedback toy to be honest.

3a) I still have no problem with infamous "900 degree Credits glitch". Thank God for that, that would really be too much icing on the cake described above.

4) Come on Turn 10, you can fix all of the above. Make some adjustment for the in-game Kinect software in order to allow us that play with the wheels in the cockpits to experience a full potential of this great feature. Introduce a wheel setting that will have logical mapping of left/right view buttons. Kill the goddamn steering (linearity) assist in the Simulation mode or introduce a new "900 Degree Wheel" setting that will allow us to have a full potential of the driving model. Please.

Oh, yes, this one too:

5) Why can't we have some "checkbox" under Tuning section that will show us when we have some tuning-part purchased/installed on particular car without going deep into menus of every part-sub-group? It bugs me since Forza 2. Would be convenient, don't you think?

Rant over.

Besides that, I really like the game. Thank you Turn10 for including Croatian flag under the Badges, much appreciated. Rivals are executed flawlessly, great reinvention of Autolog feature.

I am looking forward to playing today and all days to come.

I feel your pain especially in regards to the hidden assists and wheel problems, given that the new Fanatec wheels were paraded around since E3 I was hoping for flawless integration this is obviously not the case. There are a few hacks/fixes to get a better feel and proper 900 degrees out of your wheel.

900 Degrees of Rotation Fix:
To perform this fix you will need to have a 250 or 270 degree template stored in your GT2. Whilst in game power cycle the wheel and set it to the high sensitivity (250, 270 degree) template. Push the xbox button to connect the wheel to the xbox, once connected switch to your 900 degree template. Hopefully there is a patch coming to fix this natively.

General GT2 Improvements:
To counteract the weird rubbery feel of the force feedback in Forza I set Drift mode on the GT2 to 5. It makes it feel a bit more like iRacing and helps counteract the auto assits when they kick in as you can turn the wheel with a lot less effort.

I hope that turn 10 acknowledges that the auto assists are still there and patches them out of simulation mode.

Aware of both (un)fortunately - rotation fix since FM3 and I am using Drift 004/005 setting for a long time on GT2 for both GT5 and Forza 3/4.

But thanx on another pointing at those advices, maybe it will improve somebody else experience.

Does anyone else using a controller have trouble holding a line through a corner without constantly tapping the stick rather than finding a position and holding it?

I don't know if it's a twitchy thumb or overly-sensitive controls (haven't touched any settings) but it sucks always having to sort of jerk my way through corners.

Haha, yeah, I tried that to.

Than it recognized headrest of my another cockpit as my head.

I almost smashed the Kinect after that :)

So I listed my STI code up for sale on Ebay... and one of the bidders sent me this message.

If this code's already been used, I will file a complaint with eBay to get my money back and your account banned. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to winning, better not screw me.

I'm having trouble replicating the steering wheel 'snap assist' with my 911 ptws as seen in Yoritomo's video. Went full lock in a drift and haven't seen any indication of snapping at all after many many attempts. Is this exclusive to the CSR and GT2?

I hate this fucking exclusive DLC bullshit. Fucking JB Hi-fi the store at which I pre-ordered didn't get my LCE in on the day so I went to a different JB store that had it in stock, they assured me that all the DLC codes were in the package but obviously the Subaru STI code was meant to be a separate thing now I'm wondering if it's something worth pursuing, I did kind of want that car.

I'd love to get the pre-order Impreza too, but I don't think I'll pay extra/jump through hoops to get it. Really liked the car in the demo.

Miata - all generations = soooo smooth and the handling is to die for

Lotus Elise/Exige - all generations - they're fucking incredible cars with extremely low weight and gravity-defying handling. These are my heavy-hitters for when I'm working my way up the GAF leaderboards. :)

Honda S2000 - feels just like it does in real life, and they nailed the sound effects etc. Handling is beautiful as it should be. But where's the AP2's/CR!?

Acura/Honda NSX (all years) - It's a bigger, more beastly S2000 with torque. What's not to love? Again, feels just like how it does in real life. Very nice.

Honda Civic Type R 3D '10 - FWD bliss. Shockingly incredible handling and a joy to drive, despite being Wrong Wheel Drive.

Mitsubishi Evo 6 - Even more satisfying than the Evo 8/9/X, the steering and handling are precise and the light weight makes throwing on more power totally worthwhile.

Mitsubishi GTO (3000GT) - Totally sleeper and far more bad-ass than I expected. Once modded, it's so much fun to drive.

Ferrari F40 - One of the greatest cars ever made, and it's such a wild ride. Even though it's breathtakingly fast and has godly handling, it still makes you use skill to push it to its limits.

McClaren F1 - god car #2. The cockpit view is incredible (gotta love sitting in the middle) and the car itself is hypercar bliss.

M Coupe '02 - Even better than the Z4 M Coupe, this car is an absolute riot to drive on any track. It's very twitchy and oversteers instantly on command, but it's very controllable and EXTREMELY fun. Try it on a small track for maximum win.

Nissan '92 Silva Club K's
Astonishing results with stock differential and high (500-800) hp. Even with untuned suspension you can throw on 500+ hp and the car is completely drivable and controllable. It's amazing to go down the Alps at 180 mph, brake down to 100 and slide through a sweeping corner with precise control. Totally, unexpectedly awesome.

Nissan R34 GTR - The True Godzilla. A fucking twin-turbo V6 that revs to 9000 RPM with an amazing AWD system. Stock or modded, this car is a must-drive.

Nissan 370z - So totally planted and in control, this car drives just like it does in real life. It begs you to push the limits but never acts out of line. Love it.

Worst car in the game so far: Lexus LFA

Soooo disappointed. The handling is skittish and unwieldy, the brakes suck, everything feels so wrong with this car. It drove me nuts driving it because it honestly felt like SHIT. Hopped into a F40 for a Rivals challenge afterwards and felt so much better.

A class Ford Falcon XBGT: Absolute animal, had a blast in the A class series at Infineon raceway. And my god that engine/blower sound!!

I also love the Spirit R Rx7: this is my go-to car. Absolutely perfect for hi rpm drifts past obstacle cars on the mountain touge versus the STI on Fujimi. Finally, someone has nailed the rotary engine note. Absolutely amazing.

I also like the Renault Twingo: great little buzz box, used this in the multi class races and it was so much fun as an entry car.

That's about it as I haven't been in many other cars just yet! No need to!

Also, Mad Max is on telly right now!

alfa romeo giulia sprint gta- I love this car. Its quick and nimble, I feel like I'm in some old bond movie while taking corners. It has quite a bit of body roll and you can lose it if your not careful, but if you get it just right its amazing. I have it in E class but I still win races against C cars.

Aston Martin #007 Aston Martin Racing DBR9- The noise, the handling, it just screams racing to me.

What I really love about the cars in FM4 is that ALL feel different even though some might seem like the exact same type of car.
This could be down to things such as different stock spring stiffness, weight balance, torque and power curves..etc. They really do have a personality of their own and I love testing and experimenting with them.
I still have a very long way to go with collecting and tuning/upgrading most cars but at the moment:

The BMW M365CSi is a blast to drive. With it's M88 engine, delivery is potent and predictable. It has sharp handling and is very smooth, very planted around corners. Adding a few upgrades only enhances the experience.

Among the muscle cars, the Chevy Nova SS is a big surprise for me. Being a '66 US car, it should handle like a boat with it's ancient suspension and frame. Yet, even after an engine upgrade sending figures to around 373KW, it behaved quite reasonably on it's skinny tyres. No excessive wheel spin and body roll. Pleasantly surprised..

Dipped into Rivals mode for a couple of hours last night and had way too much fun - it's an incredibly organic difficulty curve (obviously) which i guess feeds the manically compulsive side of things..

I've always found that to be my default analogue stick driving technique - prob the main reason why I've been wrestling with the financial implications of a Fanatec wheel.

Yeah, I usually prefer rear wheel drive cars (FR) just because of that steering effect mid corner, and that old school muscle car slide, but I am really enjoying front wheel drive cars now.

They nailed torque steer and back off over steer and made it seem awesomely realistic!

Just don't tell my friends I drive front wheel drive...

I have a very very soft spot for rotaries as they are a beast unto themselves.

I love rotaries too. O.k, so you might have to replace engines more often than not but the iconic 13b in a RX2 or RX3 equals bliss. I'll even settle for a first gen RX7. Hurry up Turn 10!

I also love the how they nailed the effect of acceleration lift off in a massively powered, massively boosted car. Hit the throttle at low rpms while coasting, listen and feel the boost and torque kick in. The car starts to go sideways. Keep it there for bit then lift off. The whole car will snap back quite harshly as it would in real life. It's a satisfying thing!

A small example of what i'm talking about in the SSC Aero at around 0:23

There is a huge difference between turboed and supercharged motors this time 'round.
Definitely love that lift off overrun and the feeling of torque at the right times.

This is aimed at Xanadu. I'd like to get my hands on that GT livery you created. Is it restricted to people who are in the Gaf car club, or can we all get access to it? I've searched for it on the storefont with no success. There are others on there, but nowhere near as classy or well done. Ta!

Got my copy in the mail yesterday morning, can't wait to waste my life away for the fourth time, Forza is my drug haha.

Didn't find any info on the GAF club in the OP (wonderful by the way :)), can anyone point me in the right direction?

Don't say this to me, i'm in the shit. I can't stop playing this. I played a lot different racing games but I never, NEVER been so ... so... in love!

In fact i also buy a Microsoft Speed Wheel (I love it despite the known bug), my second steering wheel in my life after a very old and pricey Thurstmaster for a very old Geoff Crammond F1 simulator on pc.

Has anyone tried the Koenigsegg? What a car, you can feel the front wheels raised when in full throttle. Awesome experience, awesome experience. The most fun and successful simulator ever (imho).

Just two of my first works:
