Haven't tried it yet. Been working 70 hour work weeks and it won't stop until after a January deadline so I haven't touched the game or my Xbox in ages.
Got my first day off in a long time tomorrow and I was itching to race some F1 but with the patch out I will most certainly give FM4 some play.
Still have concerns despite the interview so I was waiting for other impressions here. Dan mentions the speed sensitive steering assist in that blog but didn't mention if its gone. That is the one I'm looking for. Because he basically admits that it is an assist that exists in the game. But is it removed from sim steering? So thats what I'm concerned about. Not to sound extra critical but its hard to believe T10 after the whole "simulation steering" fiasco.

Really? I went back and forth several times, switching one controller off before connecting the other and each time it saw the Speed Wheel as the right device, rather than the FM Fanatec wheel. Rumble also seemed far better, too.
I will post photos, videos and probably Some Big Shots of the new DLC cars later today.Can;t wait to rock that Ford Escort MkII in the new DLC about to hit...good times.
Anyone got some screenshots of it by any chance?

Easy way to tell is to disconnect from Live, clear cache, check in-game then reconnect to Live and check again.

I would say to just use prudent judgement. I think the FXX and 599XX are the only two outside of the actual race cars rhat wouldn't be allowed.

Interest in Forza 4 never dies. The casual crowd tend to stick to offline. There will be a small, but strong community for this for the next couple years.
Also, not sure what mode you're in specifically, but I'm pretty sure the hoppers(matchmaking) see much better numbers than the user-created lobbies. Which is a shame.
Can you add me? I just picked this up. My GT is also Vormund.

What the game thinks, I think (hit X on a car selection screen and then RB till you find the list with this info). There are no specific inclusions/exclusions.
Edit: beaten.
The 'XX' Ferraris are listed as 'pre-tuned', not 'race' or 'production'.

Both you and Shaneus have mentioned slight visual improvements. I'm usually good at noticing these sorts of things but I can't tell. It would be cool if they did.

I'd say thats a good idea.
Bump it down to like 8 laps, though, if you do. Difference in laptimes between the two circuits is pretty significant.

That new Maser sounds AMAZING! Plus the Fiero and Escort are great little cars.
But the Monster on Kaido is some of the most fun I have had in this game.

Bah, just as I got done with my Miata for west circuit...
Well, well...back to the drawing board.
I need to buy it in the career to tune it, it's terrible in stock form IMO, it just can't turn. Acceleration is crazy though.

What class is the GT4 car? I'm guessing high A, low S, since it's just going to be a stripped Gran Turismo with a roll cage and slicks.

Yea right, join us this Sunday for paint scraping, trash talking, profanity, blazing speeds, and a sense of competitiveness that even Rivals can't touch. This is the first of many planned weekly events, so please show some awesome support!
RULES:
- No glitched cars. Ever.
- Be courteous to one another.
- Sabotages will result in disqualification.
- Minimum 10 players per event type for prizes.
- Damage for main race types will be Cosmetic and collisions will be on.
- 2 Lap run around BEFORE event type on said course, strictly for stretching your legs.
- GRID WILL BE RANDOM (yea, you have to earn that shit)
- You don't HAVE to do all three events, but it's up to you to keep us informed of what you want to participate in.
EVENT TYPES (3):
Miata Madness (C 425) - Get inside your 1st Generation Mazda Miata and try to keep it straight line! Tune your car up to Class C (425), but make sure you include a roll cage and slap a visible number on your paint job. C'mon, get creative!
Twin Ring Motegi (Easy Circuit) - 10 Laps
Open Class A-Hole (A 600) - We're opening this race up to any and ALL A-class cars! Tune that car all the way up to a PI of 600 and let 'er rip. This one is SURE to bring a challenge across all positions in the pack, so bring you....."A" game. Heh.
Infineon Raceway (Indy Circuit) - 10 Laps
Lambo VS Ferrari (R3 800) - Oh man, get ready for high-revving, zero mistake circuit racing! Long has the battle between these two titans ensued, and we're sure to add more fuel to the fire after this event. Gear up inside your favorite production Ferrari, or Lamborghini, auto and get it tuned to the note of 800 PI while screaming down....wait, Silverstone? /troll
Silverstone Raceway (Grand Prix Circuit) - 15 Laps
PRIZES
Top 3 Positions Per Event Type: Unicorn of Choice (not a typo)
Credits and other prizes will also be available.
Silly ass crashes, flips, incredible passes, 6th man, and other novelties will be awarded
BONUS!:
For those who are still interested after the tough circuit racing, I, personally am laying out a challenge at Bernese Alps. Bring your FASTEST S-Class car out and burn the competition! No time trials, no rivals, ACTUAL racing. Yea, you'll have to do 190mph AND watch out for the car next to you. Pole position nets a prize car(s) up to 1.5 million dollars in value straight from me. Warning: Full Simulation Damage/Collisions for this single event.

Am I missing a setting somewhere to up the A.I. difficulty in world tour? I seem to be winning every race easily, even when I do horrible and make plenty of mistakes? The worst I've managed to do is place second twice after getting to around level 25? Part of the problem is, it's not good training for going online, because suddenly you have to race well...
Nope, you're not missing anything at all. World Tour is openly accessible, as they would say.

sorry guys, i'm sure someone will fill my spot. i'm in the mood for online now though, so maybe tonight (9ish PST) if people are available?
also, someone offered me 5 mill for one of my vinyls unlocked. can you still sell them unlocked? should i do it? it would never rake in that much money at the amount i'm selling it at now....

That sucks man, sorry to hear that. And you can "sell" them unlocked but you have to gift them. So be sure to get the money first if you do it. I honestly wouldn't do it bc he can then sell it himself.

Edit: I had thought about using the Fiero GT as the A Class car, but then I realized that people would just see that blacked out Passat instead of the actual car.
And I know it is sort of dumb, but I feel a bit like a celebrity with the shout out from T10 for using my Guess the Shadow idea. lol
Thanks, I just tried a couple of random races from the events list and that felt a lot better, like racing. Weird that what seems like the main offline mode is overly easy.
