How has turn 10 still not put up a full car list on their website....A full list was leaked as I recall a week or two before release so it seems highly likely that it exists; Yet there a bunch of "coming soon" signs all over the damn page. There are so many other things that people have pointed out so I don't expect people to really give two shits about this but it seems like having a complete website would be such an obvious an minuscule part of a release....

It feels as if T10 all went on a long vacation after the release and just set the DLC to auto release on pre set dates while they lean back and sip piña coladas in the sun.

On another note - yesterday I had the greatest race in the current Forza history.

World S Cup (or how is it called), 3 laps on Road America. Simulation mode, Professional AI, all assists of. I was running full-stock RUF Rt 12 S (666 PP) against field of Ferrari 612 (race leader with 700PP), Lamborghini Aventador, Koenigsegg, McLaren MP12 and another Rt 12 S in the main pack.

Not a single, slightest, smallest mistake was allowed in order to catch the damn 612 in the very end of the last lap, on the final section before the straight. Of course, notice how my prerequisite is to run the race 100% clean, not a slightest bump allowed.

I restarted probably 15 times, but once I crossed the line - with 612 tailgating me because the crazy acceleration of 700PP - it was so overwhelming.

What a great moment, post-patch Simulation physics has really gave a new life and new perspective to the FM4.

Damn, that's dedication. Something tells me that the career mode takes you quite a bit of time with this in mind.

I go everything off, manual gearing (no clutch though) and just medium AI, I do restart though, if I fuck up badly. But my driving often gets far to agressive (in other words, there's bumbing into cars and grinding paintwork).

That article was so full of crap. He says he can multi task while playing forza, but playing shift he can't do anything else. According to him since I can listen to Beethoven in the background its not as good as listening to some horrible loud distracting music, because its so in your face.

And then he says that he doesn't use assist accept for the racing line, which is a HUGE assist.

Just for clarification, when you say post-patch sim physics, are you referring to the steering assist or actual physics as well? If the latter, WOW. I need to get a proper wheel :(

Why punish yourself like that? The AI is awful about displaying proper racing etiquette, so not hitting them is more about memorizing where they're terrible and coming up with some method of avoiding them and getting by. If I hit them, its usually not because I had a brain-fade or made a mistake, but because they'll brake way too early for a corner or lift on a section of track thats easy flat-out. I race as clean as possible, but I'm certainly not gonna restart MY race because the AI cant race properly.

You should really get online. People are so much more satisfying to race against. Still frustrating at times, but being up against quick, worthy competition with no ability to restart or rewind is where its at. You seem to enjoy pushing yourself to do the best you can, so getting online should be a no-brainer for you.
 
Am I alone in wanting the Sunday races to be a bit longer? 20-25min would be great.

That would be nice, but we would have to go for less races then. Right now the 2-2.5 hours is really stretching the amount of time in a row I have free on a weekend.

The way the servers are working, or rather not working now, I see your point.

When or if they do start functioning properly I see no problem keeping the races under 2hrs. 3x25min for the races themselves, 3x5min in between races and 3x5min for a practice lap on each track. It all totals 1hrs45min which leaves some room for unexpected delays.

I'm optimistic I guess.

And let's see the events for Sunday already! :)
 
I'm sorry I bailed after one race, it was just taking too long, I had to get on with my Saturday. Plus I knew I was severely outmatched in the tuning department.

For the next race, I will have to commit more time to car preparation. I was not prepared to get lapped on Laguna Seca by another Miata. I was devastated inside. I could not recover the rest of my Saturday. I was embarrassed and humbled.

i'll be sitting next week out. it'll take a while to get last weekends bad taste out of my mouth
not a knock against the races themselves, or gaffers, but turn10's crappy servers and my crappy red ringing xbox - which, is still working despite having red ringed 3 times in the last 2 weeks

Sadly I can't make it. Weekend races will be off for me till the 31st. Although I could see that day being a bad day for the euros in the group.

Yeah, I am guessing this might be the last one for a little bit. Maybe even until the new year. If so, I want to get some people together occasionally for some tag and other quick races.

i have never played tag, cat and mouse, or soccer.

would definitely be interested in joining in for any or all of the above.
 
Hey SarBear, can I get a ruling on cars that are under American Manufacturers and yet were sold in Europe for that D class race? Mainly I am thinking about the 77 Escort RS1800. I mean, it really IS an Euro car.

I do have a question about the GT2 race though. Out of the GT2 cars I could find, I had a Ferrari 430GT from a level reward, with every mod available and it was barely into the R2 class. So I bought a Viper and did every mod that's possible and it's PI is 812.

Can any of the GT2 cars be maxed out in the R2 class? I don't want to end up with a car that's not competitive and at near a million a pop, I don't want to keep buying them to find out which one(s) are worth using. I don't mind if they're all around that level fully upgraded, but it's worth knowing which ones might be greatly outclassed or underclassed compared to the rest.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's are the GT2 class cars available, some of them having a couple different teams' versions to choose from.

#92 BMW Rahal Letterman Racing M3 GT2

#83 Ferrari Risi Competizione F430GT

The DLC Italia 458 (don't remember the exact model)

Hmmm, if I'm not mistaken, the GT2 cars are optimized for R3 800 class, and GT1 cars are optimized for R2 875 class. I could be wrong though. We'll see.

Confirmed for Sunday.

I know it is crazy, but did you add racing tires? I am pretty sure I have both the Rahal BMW and the 458GT at the top of R2. From what they said, they should all be optimized to hit the top of R2 with the mods.

I can get the Robertson Ford GT GT2 car to R2 874 by swapping in the Ford/Roush NASCAR engine in. That's it. Comes with slick tires already; the other tire option is drag slicks. Mmm.
