Been playing this since Christmas and can't believe I didn't pick it up at launch.
I have been wasting my time on GT5 when I could have been thrashing this, if anyone wanted to compare GT5 to this all they have to do is push a car such as the F40 around indy or the nurburgring GP course from each game to see how much better forza looks and sounds.
Turn10 did well to go with the new lighting engine and well done for not going with night time tracks and sacrificing that 60FPS.
What an amazing looking and sounding game and for including the escort cosworth, best car I have ever owned even though the F4 version loses its grip more than the real version.

I'm just shooting for middle of the pack. I'm too timid and probably overly-polite out on the track (fellow racers don't seem to mind though, and make me pay, hah). Though if I see you out there maybe I'll make an exception.... Word on the street is you can be quite brutal :)

psssht.....what? If we're in the league together having an actual race, I'm polite. I'll still trade a little paint if it comes down to it, but I'm definitely a lot shy of how i am in an online lobby race. It's not like I would nail you in the first corner of Catalunya going 160mph in a Corvette (yea, you know who you are).

Hmm, I'm going to have to put in some practice time on the R2's, don't normally spend much time in the R classes. And nordschleife for that matter.

Regarding the DLC...feels like some cool cars and some duds. The Pinto is a waste of a slot--a car notable only for the controversy surrounding it. The Fiat Coupe is dull. The RS5 is essentially an update of a car we already have even though I like it. Same for the Lambo race car. The Pagani is definitely the standout. I dunno, I feel like Forza 3's packs wowed me more. Hopefully they're saving the stunners for later packs.

And c'mon, no '62 250 GTO yet? The world's most expensive and arguably, beautiful, car?

I won't be in for the races on Sunday...celebrating New Years away from my Xbox. Have fun, though!

I should be around for the races this Sunday. Those are gonna be some crazy races. I'm moving on Friday and things should be set up by then, but if it doesn't work out, I'll let you know.

Anyone else having problems downloading paints and tunes from the Storefront this morning?
It just hangs on the downloading/saving message until I quit to dash.
Internet is fine.
I thought Turn 10 had sorted their server issues?

Length of races. One lap of Catalunya is well over two minutes, and one lap of Nurburgring is roughly 7'45". I could do another race on top of that, but I would need a collective and decisive vote from the entire group.

Vtec just kicked in yo!

I'm really surprised by the '97 Civic Type R. I'm not a big fan of Honda cars but I really enjoy racing this car partly because of the distinctive crossover of sounds and mostly because it's a tight handling FWD vehicle overall. Torque steer isn't a very big problem once some tuning has taken place.
The '97 Civic Type R gets Saladine's tick of approval!

Yeah, but it's bullshit, since the F50 GT was meant to compete in GT1 (but didn't) and the F40C was a hotter version of the F40LM which competed in a similar class.

I dont get how these are classified as mere supercars, either, but at R2, its kinda necessary to have these as options as there's not many regular supercars that are gonna be scalable to R875, and of the cars you could, many of those would be pretty much undriveable by that point.

I gave the Zonda R a whirl and it seems pretty nice even bone stock.

But 5 laps, really? nice

EDIT: Also saw 13 laps for Barcelona. As long as we dont have to hear Short whine about it, longer races are a great idea. I really haven't done one in Forza 4 yet. The longest have been the ~20 minute ones we've been doing.

Thank you for that! I was just about to chime in. I have really been wanting some "meaty" races. My original idea was both the Miatas and the Supercars at The Green Hell, but after some runs SarBear convinced me that the Miatas were just too slow to really be fun on the Ring.

Edit: I am curious what you guys would think about doing one really long endurance style race with the Miatas some weekend. Something like 1 to 2 hours with the Miatas. I want to really get pit strategy involved in a race. And maybe turn on full damage for that race to add a new layer. Just since the Miatas don't really rely on aero as much as the higher powered cars.

Put yourself on a 'hand training' regimen I see. Nice work. Dont wanna know the details.

As far as real long races go, my limit is usually about an hour. I haven't done many really long races where things were close and exciting for any long period of time and most of our time was spent just clicking off laps by ourselves, going faster than the guy behind but not as fast as the guy in front of us.

I would agree that most long races end up feeling that way, but I really feel like our little group has some great balance. There are enough people with similar skill that I think it might actually be somewhat close the whole time. The R2 Ring race might be a good way to test that though.

yes, i had the same problem trying to buy a design. just hung up on me. had to shut off the system and head to work. hopefully when i get home for lunch i can redownload and not have to spend 5k again.


ps anyone know of a really good lancia delta skin? black martini preferrably but any good ones would be greatly appreciated. i looked at some and i can't decide on which i liked best. they are all pretty good but there are little differences here and there. anyone know of a respected designer that has one (anyone in the apex crew, eek5, and another crew i can't remember the name of right now, gearbox maybe or do they just do tunes?, etc).

Am I to understand that the CIVIC 99 is better than almost any other car out there?

What am I supposed to be shooting for? Speed rating of 4.1 with everything else high.

It seems maintaining your speed on turns is more important than speed on the straights, or top speed.


In my 80's lotus that was high in HP, I would get killed by a god damn KIA because he was maintaining like 65-70 on turns. When I used my Civic, I could keep up and ride his bumper for three laps.

I'm sorry I am rambling, I just can't tell you how miffed I am at the C class. I have comfortable cars in almost every other class, but I am vexed. I am frustrated. I have knots in my stomach!!!!

I just can't understand how a RX7 loses to a god damn KIA/ CIVIC in these races!!

Help me man I am fkn frustrated.

C class sprints. Everything is about sprinting. The top speed is almost worthless in this class because you'll make it up by being able to coast through turns, or actually being able to accelerate full throttle through most turns (kia/civic/miata).

Well it is the Civic Type R. One of the greatest handling FWD cars of all time. I can't speak for the Kia however...
