Sure! I think I'll try something that sounds angry. Really overwork the gearbox, and drive like I'm mad at the world. Maybe a Shelby or a Mustang.

I am glad you guys are up for this. It seems to be getting this thread moving again and it will be interesting to really see all the different driving styles.
i'll try to get something done this weekend as well. no idea what car yet, something with a nice interior thats maybe less used but beastly. really wish we had more epic tracks for things like this - amalfi long would have been cool for slower cars

I did a lap in a C1 Corvette, but had to rewind a few times when I overcooked it around a few corners. Pretty bouncy.
I first tried with a 288 GTO (too fast for my first HUD-less/racing-line less go on that track) and the old Maserati roadster (handles like it's on rails straight ones).
would like to play around a bit before deciding, but was thinking the rhys millen genesis coupe

Haha, I am glad you didn't end up doing the 288 GTO because that is MY car. I love that car and it is one of the ones I am definitely going to run on the Ring.
I should have your replay pulled and recorded this weekend.
Hey, this weekend is the 12 hours of Sebring. We should run an enduro race on Sebring. Maybe even do some multiclass racing.

I found Forza's F40 a little tamer than expected (after GT5's) but the GTO was a perfect substitute, can be a fucking bitch at high speed but man, I love her.

For too long I was without GOLD on my 360. I have this game since launch, Limited Edition with the Season Pass. Love the game even if I'm a terrible driver.
After one month the game released I couldn't play online. I'm in the GAF Club also, since Day one. It's a little sad that I was in the club, but, because I did not have GOLD I had to pass up regarding sharing cars with the fellow GAFFers. It's was also bad when I had to skip about 2 or 3 cars for FREE from Turn10 because you have to be GOLD to download them.
I'm level 100, or 101. Today I got GOLD (it is also my birthday) and I feel closer to the GAF Club. I just want to say thank you very much. I haven't had too much time to be here, or even to play, I went silent without GOLD but you guys were always there, with blinking messages from GAF members "car shared", etc.
Thanks for keeping me in the GAF Club even if I was silent for so much time.
Again, thank you all. And if anyone want another GAffer on their friend list (I use my 360 for almost exclusives-only and have a low Gamerscore) my GT is in my profile. Feel free to add.
One question, is anyone still helping with getting all Ferraris/the most expensive cars? I'm the worst driver ever, and it would take me forever to do this. I have some, but still missing a lot. (BTW trying for Affinity Level 50 right now. 41 at the moment)

I've always wanted to do multiclass racing with GAF, but wasn't sure how to go about it.
Also, every time I watch one of your vids, Shortt, I can just imagine the random outbursts of swearing combined with strange, passionate references to history racing events.

Since we aren't keeping track of points, the multi-class racing should be no problem.
And yeah, lots and lots of random outbursts while I am doing these laps. It helps me concentrate...or something.
And just you all wait until you see SeanSpeeds Guest Driver lap. The car he picked is going to be incredible. I don't want to ruin the surprise so you will just have to wait.

Every time i go to improve my time on the Montoya challenge, I end up quitting out of frustration. This is seriously the hardest fucking car to drive.
I wanted to at least get to Seanspeed's time (or better =D ) but i get three laps in and just can't take how fucking easy it is to lose almost a full second to some slight lateral roll. This car is just too much.

That's right, I ran the TVR Speed 12. I swear, if Satan had a car it would be this thing. I am not sure what the point of the car is other than trying to kill you. It wants nothing more than for you to go flying into a tree, backward...and on fire. It sounds glorious and it was honestly a lot of fun trying to wrestle it around the Ring. Full throttle is almost never used and it breaks it's tires loose at speeds most cars can't even reach. All in all it was a fantastic drive.

Do it man, it will be a great lap! Plus there is still Crude and Seanspeed who I am going to upload before you. I figure every couple of days I will upload the Guest Driver spot to help stretch it out since I doubt I will have people willing to do enough to cover every day.
The more people/cars we have, the better. Hell, it would be amazing if we could get videos of 100+ cars on the Ring. I plan on keeping this going as long as there is interest. I might even end up with 200 Days of (Green) Hell!

EDIT: actually, if thats a car no one has has claimed, i would like to set a lap with it for the 100 days, but that lap shouldnt be it. it was a clean lap, but i totally blew a few corners (and not in a interesting way) and i'd rather have it with a wheel so the movements arent so herky jerky

yeah, i get that. just ran the sagaris and fish-tailed like crazy a couple of times, and i'm cool with that, but blowing the big banked corner by missing the inside "lane" was just embarrassing!

Its funny you mention that because I would love to be able to get a majority of the cars on this. It is definitely taking longer than I originally expected to edit, convert and upload but I have really been enjoying it. Even if they never get a lot of views, I still think this is a lot of fun.
Crude's lap will be up later today and I should have Seanspeed's up tomorrow. Both of them chose fantastic cars and they both really ran great laps.
I restarted my lap about 5 times cuz I made some pretty blazing errors in the first 1/4 of the lap, but I was just getting used to the car(had never driven it before). The lap you'll see has plenty of smaller errors in it, though. Its a bit more.......wild....than your lap was.
Always great when dedication pays off. Nice job.

I actually cannot believe people actually RACED this car. I swear my old Beretta had a stiffer suspension than this thing. And God help if you try to brake at all while cornering. The car just slams it's nose down and plows straight through. The thought of real people driving this car at top speed just terrifies me. It sounds like it is attempting to eat gravel for fuel and the cockpit view is probably one of my favorites, but you won't believe the amount of body roll you will see in the lap. A tremendous car at the time but driving it now makes you really understand how fearless the old race drivers were.
I also have CrudeDiatribes Corvette C1 lap up.

The view from the cockpit is really nice and Crude handles the car really well. It is definitely bouncy, but seems that it would be a great car to just tear around the countryside in.

Has anyone else happened to notice the stretched/almost fish-eyed effect that happens in FM4?
It's prevolent when turning right circles at low speed, and in the example below. It kind of cheeses me off.
Anyone know a reason as to why this is happening?
EDIT: I forgot to explain that it is the yellow vette to the right that looks too long and disproportionate to what you'd expect. It might not have been obvious.

its the fov and why the ring appears so very wide compared to gt. its so you have a bigger field of view but yeah, also makes the sense of speed faster and stretches things a bit like a wide angle lens

I reduced my FoV because the horrible effect, it looked like some shit from the Sega Model 2 days.
Once you adjust to the new sense of speed it works brilliantly but there's some graphic glitches, my Escort Cosworth's rear view mirror is stretched to like 2 feet wide. Most cars are ok though.
edit: you may have to disable multiscreen to apply any designs or paint a car or it hangs.
