Forza 4 |OT| Where Porsche Are Driven

Is there any way to set up you're own rivals mode?

I wanna put a challenge forward to my car club, but it might be hard to do if the participants have already posted a time with a quicker car.

Is there another way I can do this in the form of a time attack/hot lap...?

Not really. You've already figured why.

You kind of have to work off an honor system.

Hmm......Don't tempt me!
It does sound fun, but I really dont think I'll be getting this pack unless I can score a free code. I've been with hit with some unexpected expenses recently. I'll be saving that money to put towards the fuck-awesome Porsche DLC. :)

Donate blood. Or semen. But don't mix the two and then donate it. ;)

Reposting. I don't want ANY complaints, because if you're online and I can corner Jube, most of the time he'll send a CLUB INVITE FOR GAF and give away a few gifts!!

Straight from the horse's mouth:

"Next Game With Dev

Our next Game With Devs is coming up on Thursday, April 26, from 4-6 p.m. Pacific. As always, we’ll be spending time with the Forza community in our dedicated Facebook chatroom, and racing in Forza Motorsport 4 with as many people as we can possibly fit in. Head on over to our official Facebook page on Thursday, click on the "Game With Dev" link and join in the fun! We’ll see you there!"

Seriously. NO fucking excuse! You want unicorns? You want a chance to win free DLC codes for April? Make sure you're there! I'm telling you, this is how I aqcuired 70 percent of my unicorns! The devs play Soccer, Tag, P2P racing, Circuit racing, Drift, and SOMETIMES timed races.

And lemme just share a small secret.....if any of the guys I've raced with show up and actually get in a room, you should have no problem having a podium finish if not first place. Be warned, they all race with simulation damage on, though! LOL Even in Soccer!

I can never remember how to convert times, but I bet that's at a time which doesn't suit Australians in the slightest :(

Crazy pack.

The Austin-Healey is absent on the trailer and pics.

There will be another season pass?

What's the reasoning behind that?

Here's a pic anyway

Yea, probably not. People dont tend to care about Australia since you guys have less people in your entire gigantic country than we do in a single state. :p
Still have two more people driving in the Formula 1 than the US :p

And I believe we're doing quite well in your so-called "Indycar" as well? We all know the only reason these comps aren't held at times that are mutually beneficial is because we'd be schooling all your arses :p

So B, you said the Austin Healey was missing because it was "left for a surprise"?

SpaHurstZolderDonningHatch confirmed!
It is good not to show all at once because so you have something to look forward to.

And you know pictures can sometime show too much!

I'm trying to keep my expectations low ... 1 track if were amazingly lucky. 1 new layout on an existing track probably.

In dream land. At least 3 new tracks but 4 or 5 is what I want :)

I heard the big surprise was going to be T10 patching in one line of code to allow Camino Extreme to be driven in reverse.

Just like it was in FM3.

I'm shaking hot white coconuts from the love tree in anticipation.

Anyone have any thoughts on what kind of engine swaps (if any) we could do on the Smart car? I'm thinking Smart Hayabusa ridiculous things like that

No real-world cross-brand real world swaps are possible in Forza, unfortunately.

I would especially like Chevy LS powered S2000s and Nissan I6TT powered E30 M3s.

Hell, they removed the LS7 swap from the Solstice in favour of the LS3 that shipped in the Pontiac G8, and the Ford 5.0L crate engine from a bunch of Fords. Booooooo.

With Forza 5 around the corner, would seem like a waste of resources at this point.
Possibly. But if I've learned anything from Forza 4 its that I put more value in track and driving condition variety than the sheer multitude of cars available.

So Forza 5 may lose me as a customer but Horizon might be right up my alley, if it turns out out to be close to what I imagine.

Got the new videos up:

50 Days of (Green) Hell Day 41 - Noble M600

This is a fun car and would be even better if it wasn't so damn twitchy! If you are even remotely turning the wheel when you brake in this car it WILL fling you into the guardrails. You have to be methodical and really plan your brake points and corner entry with the Noble. If you try to treat it too harshly or drive to wild, it will make you pay for your insolence. It is a stupidly quick car and it sounds fantastic and I can understand how it could be a leaderboard car with some some decent adjustments. It is a seriously fast car.

50 Days of (Green) Hell Guest Drive 38 - Ferrari 458 Italia

Dead Poul driving his damn Ferrari's again! He really has a way of making this car just fly around the course!

let's hope they up the track ante in Forza 5, I still think next yr may be too soon, but if nothing changes in the track perspective I may end up skipping it

I really feel like Turn 10 trolled us with this pack. We ask for the '03 Cobra, Camaro ZL1 and '11 Boss 302 and GT500. We ask for more RUF vehicles. We get the smart fourtwo and the AMC Pacer.

At least they're cranking out car packs beyond the season pass, the Porsche pack and the 2013 SRT Viper.

The 458 is seriously a travesty of a Ferrari if there ever was one. I thought I was going to fall asleep with this model. And it's just a dumbass in terms of brains on the track. I'm not boasting skills whatsoever, because I know there are drivers in Forza who are leaps and bounds faster than I am, but this car is pretty shitty. It doesn't know what to do with its big ass. Should it be twitchy going into turns? Or should the rear slide out and force you to either lock the brakes/deal with the outcome? Should it take off like a rocket? Or should it fall flat in sixth gear and make you wonder where all that damn horsepower went?

Seriously, the 458 can eat my dick.

Edit:

Bring on the Porsche pack, I'm ready for the premier European car manufacturer.

More tracks, rally, snow, gravel, mud, time-of-day settings, weather, and some long winding roads in beautiful locations to test drive on, and an in-game upgrade/tuning advisor AI and they can take my money right now. All of my monies.

That's all I ask ;P

As snoody as I'm trying to be about my demands with Forza 5, somehow I just know whatever I'm given I'll eat it up. But I might grumble a bit if there's no proper Nurburgring, and the absence of the 04 Mustang Cobra. Seriously, Turn10, model the fucking car already!

Look at this bitch!

Yep, I can't see myself skipping any Forza game because it lacked something I wanted.
Having said that, more tracks for FM5 or bust!

In all honesty though, one thing that would take precedence over track count for me, would be variety in the racing itself.

I would love a Toca style racer where you would have different, dedicated disciplines to race in such as traditional circuit, point to point, rally, drifting, drag and more objective based scenario racing such as suggested by G Rom earlier in the thread.
Also, add in some variation in the weather and time of day.
If this happens,......I will be Greenawalt's bitch for a month!

Meh, looks just like another Mustang, SarBear... *runs away*

A new vid of the SRT Viper on the TopGear track:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk9CCwiZNvw

I'll give this Viper one thing, that engine sounds fucking incredible !

BTW, it never ceases to amaze me how diverse the car list has become with FM4 and FM4 DLC, off the top of my head, we got :
- DTM cars
- V8 Supercars cars
- NASCAR cars
- S2000 car
- GroupB car
- Hill climb car
- Rallycross car
- GTS, GT1, GT2, GT3, etc... cars
- LMP1, LMP2, GroupC, etc... cars
- Post-war LeMans cars
- Wagons
- Van
- Hatchback
- Sedans
- SUVs and 4x4
- Small city cars
- (very) wide range of muscle cars
- Supercars

I've said it before, I'd love to see some MPV action in Forza. Especially old ones like the 1984 Espace to recreate the Top Gear race they had some seasons ago. Also, we need this bad boy to rule them all :

Bah, like a lot of people I've spunked so much money on car DLC in FM3 and FM4, Turn 10 have no incentive to release tracks. Why should they? The cash cow is shitting cars out like it's got diarrhoea, and we keep scooping them up like hot teacakes and signing our houses over to Dan.

I say boycott all future DLC until some tracks are announced.

I'm trying a similar thing with Rihanna: the sooner we all stop buying her music, the sooner she has to do porn to make ends meet. It's win-win.

Death. Dishonor. Disrespect.

To me, and a very large community, this was the most influential MUSTANG (from now on the word "MUSTANG" is capitalized out of respect) in modern history. and it's just a monster!

As long as she doesn't talk, we're good. Her voice is a dick limper fa sho.

There will be. Five.

And of those five, New York and full Amalfi will be considered new tracks. >=/

Well, as a monster, it's appropriately ugly, then. The retro-styled '05 and onwards are much better.

The problem with tracks is still the same, they take too much time to make. If they released five tracks now, you could be sure that FM5 would only have 1 or 2 new tracks and then the complaints would be made again about the game not having enough new tracks, etc...
Although, we could argue that releasing some tracks for FM4 wouldn't be bad as FM5 will most likely feature full dynamic time of day for all tracks (big WTF if it doesn't IMO) so all the tracks would feel very different in FM5.

Cars as you said really are the golden eggs for T10. They can throw one or two crap cars nobody cares about in what seems (to us) a great pack while purposefully leaving out the real stuff (1962 GTO, F1 LM, RX3-SP, 2004 Cobra, etc...) that everybody wants for FM5.
Seeing how some cars were planned for the initial FM3 release and only got released as FM4 DLC (e.g Clio Cup), it seems pretty clear that Turn 10 have a huge list of cars ready or nearly ready to be added to the game just waiting the proper time. Maybe it's the same thing for tracks and Turn 10 are just trolling us. :lol

yeah I don't really expect track dlc unless it can integrate into the event list in current events.

But a lot of more tracks is imperative for 5.

Dan admitted in an interview that track DLC wasn't historically a commercial success (which he probably based on the Nurb F1 track released for FM3, which had zero marketing and therefore hardly any user awareness).

I can understand investment being high if the track is a real-world recreation that involves laser scanning, licensing, teams of surveyors and photographers etc, but surely fantasy tracks would be cheap to produce using their creation software and a bin of assets? Hell, I can rattle off professional-looking original tracks in Trials Evolution by myself in just a few hours without any real-world constraints. If Turn 10 recreated Rio or Alpine Ring then they wouldn't even need to invent the fucking layout..!

I don't buy the argument that tracks take too long to develop. New cars don't just appear overnight, anyway. I think the pure driving force, as ever, is money. Based on previous experience, Turn 10 think car packs will always outsell tracks, and so long as car DLC continues to sell, Turn 10 will keep churning it out.

My big hope for FM5 is for a powerful track creator. Give the Forza community the power to develop our own tracks and the results could be phenomenal.

Dan address this in one of the interviews on Forzamotorsport.net: they can run into legal issues if people re-create the layouts of real world tracks.

Still, I believe the issue with track DLC is not licensing; most tracks are actually hurting for profitability, so obtaining licenses likely has less hurdles than obtaining usage rights for cars.

But the issue is that they probably do take longer to build and likely require more playtesting to ensure that they run well in the current engine. And they sell less than car packs.

That said, my personal belief is that the tracks T10 has released weren't highly requested by fans, so is it really surprising to them that they didn't sell well? Release a track that the fans actually want, and if it doesn't sell, then you can make the argument that track packs don't sell.

A powerful track creator would be fucking awesome!
Imagine the possibilities and legs that a feature like this can provide.
I mean, if Turn 10 don't want to offer any DLC tracks, then there will be no monetary conflict if an editor/creator was given in it's stead. It makes perfect sense and it's a win win situation for everyone.

George W Bush quote of the day:

"I promise you I will listen to what has been said here, even though I wasn't here."

I don't disagree with you.

I do think it's worth pointing out that I'm pretty sure all these DLC packs are outsourced. Aside from the community guys, and whomever was needed for the patch, nobody at T10 has worked on FM4 since it came out. It's on to FM5 immediately. Especially for the guys creating tracks :)

Sure, no DLC tracks is a business decision, but FM5 on new hardware is going to need a TON of work. They'll need all the resources they''ve got working on it.
