Using the Forza name with an arcade racer would be an example of a company willing to diminish a brand's image for sales/$$$ rather than just being a legit attempt to branch out the Forza name.

realistically, i think its most likely. i seriously doubt whatever it is will be even half as realistic as forza in the handling department. my prediction? NFS: forza. not open world. not MMO-like. just long p2p stages across a variety of landscapes with a heavy arcade feel.

Seriously, of course this is a racing game. We've seen instances where the devs themselves have stated that the cars will have "great handling in stunning quality".
For what it's worth, when someone suggested that the game might be a "free-roam street racer", a dev on a certain forum replied, "You were almost right".
The question is, which part...the free roam or the street racer...?
Another little fact, the tone trailer we saw was a 'second version' which microsoft had to re edit as the "in house version", "which was miles better" had unlicensed footage in it.

You know what I would like? A street racing game with the physics/models of Forza but with the "fighting" mechanic from Tokyo Xtreme Racer. If you guys don't remember, each car racing has a "health" meter that lowers the farther ahead of your rival you get. If you guys stay close, the race could last for a LONG time because the bars would only go down slowly.
I have always loved that mechanic because it really made you feel like you were street racing. The TXR series are really the only games that accurately capture the feel of highway street races, too bad the physics were complete shit.

You know, I don't have nearly enough time to devote to FM4 as it is, never mind the fact that Forza Horizon is on the, uh, horizon. It's all I can do to hop on for a handful of Rivals events or event list races every few days. I'm basically in a holding pattern until the Porsche expansion hits.
Maybe Horizon will turn out to be shit so it won't be a drain on my FM4 time.

The survival mode where you raced waves of opponents looping around the highways was my favorite part; races were genuinely tense, back-and-forths when you got to the later stages. I am not ashamed to admit that I sometimes oftentimes resorted to pitting opponents or bashing them off into offramps I hadn't unlocked yet.
TXR will always have a special place in my heart as the Dreamcast titles were the ones that really got me into racing games.

Assuming the racing is the basis of the game, then the car culture would be things like vehicle stance, taking pictures of your cars at random spots, old school classics like Minis and Escorts with Superlites and stretched tires..etc

Yeah, it's just... I really don't get it. There are the provisions for having track DLC but the only DLC came out when the game did (and kinda doesn't really count anyway). You have to wonder about what their goal is if they release so many cars yet have so (comparatively) few tracks to drive them on.
Need to prep myself to get a comp on this one. Gonna take some HARD work. Will play Forza in boxers, Ed Hardy cap, covered in bubble bath for a free Porsche download code.

Yup, 1200 horsepower in a car that weighs less than my E36 M3. Oh yeah, this will be a fun lap! This car is one of those that really makes me wish I was a better driver. It is just so FAST and yet I feel like I was driving like a grandma on this lap. The power comes on like a tidal wave and that needle hits the redline before you even have time to blink. I barely used the full power of this car and even then I was still struggling to keep it on the road. Forget what I said about all the other cars, THIS car WILL try to kill you. And not just on the corners, this thing will try to fling you to your fiery death on the freakin straights! This car is power, personified and it WILL murder you if you look at it wrong.
