Forza 4 |OT| Where Porsche Are Driven

Aren't you able to tune/upgrade the car then?
Just by looking at it I'd say F-class is the restriction + maybe some specific cars.
The issue is I don't see anywhere that will let me upgrade. You just pick the race, it asks you which car you'd like to drive and then you can do tunes right before but no where do I see a place to upgrade.

Tuning doesn't add points, does it?

This got fixed by changing the wheel from 900 degrees to 270 degrees.

Awesome job turn 10. Good testing and programming and on a licensed product no less.

Main menu there should be a option for upgrades, don't know how the menu structure is in FM4, still haven't gotten my copy.

This is under Community Monthly/Starter Car Open/Change Rival screen. How is UR BUS IS SHORT's class F198 and everyone else is F121 with the Vauxhall Agila?

Also, where is this spreadsheet? I'd like to fill out my info.
Some of the rivals mode allows you to use tuned cars, they will indicate if they are stock only. If you own the actual vehicle, you should be able to pick it from your garage for those rival races I believe. Can someone confirm that please? I'm at work at the moment otherwise I would check myself.

And I see my name on the list lol

Edit: Gunnin' for ya Shortt Sirket!

My time is done with a garage car. If you already have a tuned F class car that meets the requirements then you can use that.

But people will pay for Bathurst and Spa, would you pay for Hockenheim? (I wouldn't, but have only raced it with slow cars)

No, in fact I should get paid for even tolerating Hockenheim. =D

I don't really think T10 would withhold tracks just to make DLC dollars, especially since they said tracks don't sell well. But I know if they release either as DLC, I will buy 'em!

beard: hey dan lets make a official fanatec wheel
Dan: that sounds awesome
beard: 900 degrees wheel rocks.
Dan: our programmers only know how to deal with 270 degrees.
beard: well just don't give any credits in WT to people with their wheels set to 900 degrees.

Shit so that's what happened last night? I finished a race and didn't receive any credits. I assumed it was my fault...

I was fiddling with the wheel's settings in-race so I guess the game didn't like it and trolled me.

I'll double check that. Luckily I already have a VW Fox.

Just wanted to chime in on the car club issue and say that Ive been around enough GAF guilds/clubs/leagues to know that around launch time its HYPE city and everyone is around all the time.

Give it a few weeks and some people are going to disappear off the face of the earth Forza wise. I know there are a good number of GAF that will be around for the long haul and the club will be great but I doubt it will be 100+ active members in 3 months.

Having said that, I would gladly move to a GAF2 club or just drop from the club if asked. I plan to be playing Forza a lot so I'll be around if spots open up.

Here's a thread of other people with the same issue. http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/forums/5/4866328/ShowThread.aspx#4866328

If someone can relay this to Dan's twitter account it would be much appreciated.

Got my LCE from Amazon.ca!! Woot. No sign of the Subaru WRX STI though... Anybody got the pre-order bonus by buying the game on amazon.ca?

Bah...just got a reply from Amazon.ca saying that the promo was only for the US website. That suck. For some reason, I'm sure I remember seeing the promo on the store page when I bought the game. Oh well...no WRX STI for me.

I have been trying to get a decent time on the Fujimi Kaido full track for GAF club.

I just can't come in under 9:45 or something. How did someone clock 8:50????

Hey guys on higher HP card like lets say 599 HP. I can't play with out at least one assist on. I was using stability control.

Are you guys able to get by with out using any assists on the higher HP cars?

Smooth/careful throttle control. Also, you need to be familiar with your cars power curve so it doesn't end up surprising you in the middle of a corner.

Put it this way, It would be better to move to Gaf2 instead of no club at all if you want to drop. I am in teh same boat as you, I have no problems dropping out to give others a chance into the club, but I still want to be in a club and if my choice is no club or gaf2, I would go to gaf2. As it is, I am in gaf1, but willing to move if the community decides to do a gaf2.

Assist free! What does the paper clip mean after "AUTO" on the assists section?

Paperclip = Ghost. Think of it as an attachment file. Those with the clip have the ghost to download and race against.

I was wondering the same thing in the demo, also (this may be a stupid question) what are the "half and whole" pills representing?

They are the different levels of assist. ABS = None, ABS on and Auto braking TCS = TCS off, On and maybe some auto steer? etc

They mean that the assist is used or part of an assist is used.

full moon on Auto is full automatic. Half-moon is manual. no moon is manual w/clutch.

Most assists have 3 options. Like for transmission you have Auto, Manual, Manua/Clutch. Less pill = less assists.

Guess DLC is integrated into career after all. At level
10
I got the opportunity to pick the Alfa Romeo Giulietta as a reward car. Awesome.

There are few cars in video games as fun to drive as the BMW 2002. It's incredible.

Look what just show up for me GAF!! I already take it for a test run and wow what a difference between this and the old crappy standard pedal. I can actually go at full speed!

I have to go figure out the brake setting later but so far it's just awesome.

On another note I got the LE from Microsoft but they didn't put in the pre-order code, I wonder if they will email those out like Amazon too. Anyone else got their code?

Good to know about the cars but it's the track that I want integrated.

I just remembered that it has kinect support. Just curious if anyone has tried it with connect and also with the speed wheel? Is the 50-60$ worth the difference of physically holding something?
Amid all the club talk, I forgot to tell my Kinect and speed wheel impressions:

I am super-bummed by this, but I have to report a Kinect fail. Autovista works fine, but honestly, after using it once, you're going to want to just use a controller.

Headtracking however, completely failed for me. My Kinect is mounted on my wall, and in most games, I barely have enough room in front of my couch for the suggested space. Now, when I sit down on my couch, all of a sudden I'm too far away for Forza headtracking to work. It's like they want you to be four feet from the Kinect. I messed with it for a bit, trying to get it to work, but I'm sad to say that I couldn't at that distance (about 8 feet from the Kinect).

As for the speed wheel, there have been multiple posts giving it praise, including several from me. BUT...that said...it is a disaster in the menus. No bumpers means no searching through different mail sections, no moving to different paint styles...basically if you don't want to do anything besides race, it's fine. Otherwise, you have to turn it off and turn on a regular controller. Really lame. Also, several times the game recognized the speed wheel as an ffb wheel, and I had to restart the game. Another bummer.

I am not sure hot they are going to integrate the track since the event grid is pretty much set. I mean they could do Monthly Event or something but other than that I just don't see how it will work unless they will insert track into already set event then you would have people bitch and moan to no end about how their event is not the same as other.

Anyway, the career mode for me is vary enough and the cars are just so good most of the time I don't feel boring even when the old F3 track show up I was so jazz to drive my new cars on it.

edit: I just thought of something, the two tracks that are DLC are they in the career mode? If they are then that would mean track are integrate-able.

let me know if you figuer something for the breaks, I feel like I have to press really hard and it doesn't slow it down as much as it should. Loving the pedals so far though

There are so many Rivals events. Probably 20 or 25 of them. Which ones are people gravitating towards? I did the TG: Reasonably Priced Car, and Senna last night. I'm staying away from any of the non-spec ones until my garage fills out a bit.

Picking up the game on the way home. I was buying a new car in real life yesterday! Now I can run with it in the game while I wait (impatiently) for it to be made and delivered.

I'd like to get in on the club(s). Can somebody sum up where we are with that. I found the google doc (no link in the OP) with over 110 names on it. Should I just add mine to it, wait, or some other alternative?

I did the top gear with the F class car, infineon with the stock car and infineon drag, that was my least favorite

I want to be in the club but havent made enough posts, so here is a quality one.

My congrats to Turn 10.

I own one of these:
e39m52.png

I like how the stats on the car are not the manufacturers published stats, and they REALLY did test this car.

For example, BMW say the e39 M5 goes from 0-60mph in 5.0 seconds, this is not entirely true.

Jalopnik managed to get it (stock) to do 0-60 in 4.4s. I personally have managed 4.7s, other mags had apparently published similarly.

BMW also published the top speed as 155mph in Europe, and 186mph in USA (the needle only goes to 185mph), so they think, "it buries the needle, just put it as 1 more, who cares how fast it can actually go? who would be mad enough to try that?"

I myself have taken my e39 M5 to 192mph (and as I stated earlier gone from 0-60mph in 4.7s) and what stats do Forza show for the base car?

0-60mph - 4.7s
top speed - 193mph

Almost absolutely BANG on to reality. What makes it awesome is that there are no accurate published stats from BMW (that I know of) and these guys got it RIGHT because they really drove it.

The engine sounds are very good too, seems a tiny bit higher than reality, but still, very good. Also the reason I knew (thought) I was going 192mph was because I have a tomtom, because as I said earlier, the speedo only goes to 185.

Have you tried setting the deceleration dead zone to < 15 in the advanced controller settings?

I have the Fanatec Clubsport Pedals. I remember the braking thing with Forza 3. There's a knob behind the brake pedal that you can dial in the sensitivity with. I can't remember if clockwise or counter-clockwise makes it more or less sensitive. You might want to play with that though at both extremes and see if it makes a difference.

Infineon is definitely my favorite track so far in the game. I love taking muscle cars and go around that track.
