Are there any direct feeds from this game in cockpit? (screens)
And? If they wanted to do a new PGR then do a new PGR, not just reference something. This is like Activision riding in on Destiny saying "From the makers of Halo" or EA with Respawn "From the makers of COD4".
Agreed. At the moment I'm getting tdu2 vibes. I freaking loved that game except that the physics were odd lol (I get more of a test drive unlimited 2 vibe but maybe that's just me?
(I LOVED TDU2 by the way)

Both devs have ex-bizarre creations developers if I recall correctly.
Bought it day 1.
Haha xD that would be great.Forza Horizon 2 OT | This Generation's PGR
Driveclub OT | This Generation's PGR
I think DriveClub has more PGR's DNA than Horizon...
It's basically PGR in an open world to me, though for it to really be a PGR successor, it needs tight city courses.
No it's not, the Project Gotham Racing game I've been waiting for runs at 60 fps.
Forza Horizon 2 OT | This Generation's PGR
Driveclub OT | This Generation's PGR
Played them both have you?
For what it's worth, a friend who played this and DC at Gamescom thought that DC was closer to PGR in terms of gameplay.
Horizon 2 was pretty close though.
Other than the obvious analogues to the Kudos system, the big thing about PGR, IMO, was the technical nature of the vast majority of its courses throughout the series with plenty of difficult hairpins and lots of 90° turns thanks to its use of city-based roads. In the videos I've seen, Drive Club has never shown a great affinity towards this sort of angular and more challenging type of course and I think Evolution's focus on supercars cements this thinking. There's no way to take those sort of cars on those sorts of tracks because they'd never get into higher gears while PGR always had a vast spectrum of vehicles which did handle that more turn-heavy racing. Drive Club looks far more like Need for Speed with its long, undulating stretches that allow the type of cars they focus on to really hammer down on the pedal. Forza Horizon always felt like a hybrid of those two types since it does plenty of closed circuits in addition the open road which does also cross into city/town-based roadways. Forza Horizon 2 looks even better with seemingly more of everything above in addition to heavier emphasis on off-road. Just going off of pre-release video and information, if I had to choose FH2 or DC for being heir apparent to PGR, it would solidly be in Horizon's favor.

Interesting. Well not long now we will be able to compare them soon
Makes sense though considering how much ex Bizzare staff are at Evo
This is like when Ubisoft tried real hard to sway the Zombi-U fanbase by dropping the Dark Souls name every chance they got.
That the game had jack shit in common with Souls other than a few minor mechanics was often not important enough to mention.
Open world racers are a completely different breed from strict circuit racers (like PGR).
I said this before, but most if not all open-world racers suffer from severe lack of focus when it comes to the racing part. I don't want to have to drive to the other side of the map to unlock a car or to start a race. I don't want to be driving down the same square of virtual Europe every time either. The fact that I can go off-road, (even though I really shouldn't because this is still a car racing game), means very little to me when the tradeoff is that many of the actual roads and environments are barren and not interesting to drive.
Many people seem to really enjoy the free-form aspect of these type of racing games, but sadly i'm not one of them. I didn't even enjoy Burnout Paradise, so maybe i'm dead inside.
Give me hand-made circuits, set in a variety of locales around the globe, made for one purpose. Head-to-head racing. Because that's what PGR was all about.

Yeah, this.To me PGR was not only the driving but also the distinctive realistic look. Driveclub nailed that, Forza went in a completely different direction artistically.
And I just don't see how the freedom of an open world goes together with the tightly designed courses in PGR.
So just from the looks of it (graphics and how the tracks and the driving looks like) Driveclub is nearer to PGR than Forza Horizon 2.
This makes ZERO sense.
Maybe I should add 'street-racing game' there.
But let me ask you, going off-road in FH1 or FH2 is detrimental to your car's speed, right? So if I want to drive well, I really shouldn't be going off-road. That was the thought. I'm not saying off-road racing isn't a thing.
not the sony fans coming into the thread to insist that #DRIVECLUB is the real successor to PGR
everyone tying to get that PGR glow. where were you all when the series flopped?
how is that the case when it doesn't have any city tracks anyway
the fact is that they're both 'successors' to PGR in different ways
Maybe I should add 'street-racing game' there.
