Strange of you to make such a big deal out of pop-in in a game that has it the least out of all cross gen and next gen games we've seen, especially an open world one at that.
had to go watch the vids i couldn’t wait haha but yeah definitely is much smoother than the footage i saw on twitch. do you think it’s 1440 or 1800p 60 for performance mode then?
Well like i just said, they havent said what Rez the 60fps mode is because they probably havent finalized that yet. There could also be 2 60fps modes, one with lower rez but full detail, and one at 4k with reduced detail, extra popin, etc.
Judging from the vids, i would of said at least 1620p, but with todays AA and IQ fixes, its sometimes hard to tell. The vids could be internally running at 1440p for all we know.
Today must have been a very rough day for you. I can just imagine across the number of threads where you've been trying to downplay everything shown today... I admire your commitment, but I'm tired of seeing the same tired act, so I'll just ignore you. I will not continue to ruin an awesome day by listening to you talk about how low resolution Forza Horizon 5's gameplay today looks.
What videos are you watching? The gameplay and reveal videos are both 60fps on Xbox YouTube page, same for videos on IGN. You can't even tell difference between 60 and 30 and here you are discussing graphics.
But regardless, people shouldn't fight over this stuff, we are living in somewhat of a golden era for racing games/sims. Even rfactor 2 and iracing look great these days with recent PBR updates:

That's your whole catch, one scene? And you said gameplay videos were 30 but they are 60fps. You first need to be able to tell difference between 30 and 60fps before you come here and talk about pop-in and other things.

None of these look even close to FH5, and i play most of them. ACC is best looking sim right now and even that doesn't compare, yes it can look real from a ofscreen footage but pure graphics its not a match.

You can also expect powerful, all-new graphical features like HDR captures of the vibrant Mexican sky, sweeping vistas, and an unparalleled attention to detail. Available in 4K 30 FPS on the Xbox Series X (1080p 30 FPS on Xbox Series S) with an optional 60 FPS performance mode, and ray tracing added to cars in Forzavista, you will be immersed in the open world of Horizon like never before.

No raytracing in gameplay, even at 30fps.
GT7 so far?
And those from youtube's compressed video, not direct feed
It still look very nice, despite the aggressive pop in/out and no raytracing. It's better to wait for both games to release then compare before spouting outrageous claims, although both are kinda different with one being arcadey open-world and the other circuit sim racing. Also GT is much bigger and one of the largest, most pristine eSports in gaming.
In any case, this the the best game shown so far on their conference.
I think the vistas look better than GT7 but the rest is not a fair comparison because GT7 is a closed track game while Forza Horizon is literally open world. It's like comparing Horizon to The Order. Also those are all cutscene shots of GT7 and no one could figure out if the gameplay shots had RT.
TBH, i am ok with RT not being in the game during gameplay. Push the level of detail and leave RT out. RT is a big performance hog, id rather that performance go towards making the game look prettier which is exactly what they have done here.
what are you gonna use RT for anyway in an open world game like Forza Horizon? Cars? what else?
edit: i see you werent the one who made the comparison. nvm then. i still stand by everything i said about RT! they made the right choice pushing graphical fidelity over RT imo.
Ok. So the demo must've been the performance mode. YouTube vids are encode 2160p/60 (probably internally upscaled on Series X). Coincidentally, the Flight Sim 4K upload is 30fps. That's what I'm going with. So yeah, if you want FULL 4K, you're gonna be at 30fps, 60fps will be dynamic res most likely. I can live with that. I think Flight Sim will be 30fps across the board.
Wait, so the only video you watched was a stream so bad that you couldn't even tell how many fps it was and you wanna argue about graphics? Are you serious or pretending to be dumb?
You’re chatting shit in the Doom thread, Forza thread and Halo thread and that’s just the last 2 pages of your post history, I couldn’t be arsed flicking through any more.
You have no interest in Xbox, in Halo, in Forza or any of their other games - why must you polute every thread with your irrelevant dog shit opinion?

Here, look at the back of the mazda for example and slow motion it to 0.5 to see all the RT reflections and even GI of the track. Also SSS on the trees look great in GT7, although environment looks overall average.
Also it's confirmed ray-traced lighting and reflections:
Stunning visuals: Marvel at rendering quality through ray tracing, with support for 4K, HDR, and a targeted 60 FPS frame rate.

I thought the reflection on the cars looked quite nice anyway, plus some poeple thought that was raytracing, in the conference thread lol.
RT seems to be more of a console warring thing at the minute, just check the DOOM Eternal thread.

Bruh just stop you are embarrassing yourself, you try your hardest to downplay this game. And looking at your post history, you don't like xbox we get it. But don't come over here talking bullshit.

LOL. Of course i've watched the uploaded trailers and looked closely. LOL Hilarious. You seriously thought that i've tried to search pop-ins during stream. LOL
Of course, there are so many uploaded trailers and coded at 60fps with internal fps at 30 for example

I still think they should have focused on upping the trackside detail like Playground did with Forza Horizon 5 over native 4k 60 fps with ray tracing. 3D trees are finally right but forza's open world looks far more impressive than RT that you can barely even notice until you pause and zoom in. ;p
there are a couple of aerial shots in Forza Horizon that look like that avatar trailer that came out yesterday. absolutely stunning level of detail.

It's not a bullshit if game has low res textures somewhere. EOD. Also, that picture is from gameplay surely on FH5 page. Don't blame me if there are low res textures.

So you gonna pretend now that you watched another video at 30fps when there are official videos in this very thread and across many major gaming YouTube pages? And then you wanna do analysis when you don't even know where you get your trailers? Please stop, my head hurts from all this BS.
as long as they try and hit 1440p 30 fps like UE5, it should be doable but it just doesnt make sense in games like forza horizon and horizon forbidden west which mostly take place outdoors in the jungle or the desert. something like spiderman though, i think we will see ray tracing there used extensively even if its 1080p checkerboard reflections at 1440p native res. these consoles are super powerful.
Fake edit: something like Lumens or ray traced GI might be a better fit in Horizon FW, Avatar and Forza Horizon since they are open world with day night cycles.
For someone to look at that footage and claim low res textures tells you all you need to know. These are the same people who complain about 300x zooms and finding imperfections by Digital Foundry, and they look at this game and think.... lol. I'll just enjoy scanning through and reading up on all the games I can't possibly manage all at once going into game pass lol.

LOL. Official videos were uploaded after the stream. So what if they uploaded 60fps videos later. LOL. Are you telling me that you never saw someone uploaded a coded 60fps video after the stream was at 30fps for example? Just asking If stream was at 60 and uploaded 60fps trailer later. Good then. Nothing wrong with it

I'm sure they will deliver from a visual, sound and optimization perspective. My caveat is with the progression and rewards system. FH4 was a downgrade vs FH3 in that sense. The spinweels giving stuff for your avatar instead of money and cars was a massive letdown. But if the Mexican map is as amazing as the Australian one I am in.
They said its built ground up for Series consoles. The same thing happened with Horizon 2 where the game was a proper XB1 game, and the 360 version was a considerably worse looking down port.
I mean you said it yourself, 1080p/30 on XSS, probably 720p/60, what on earth would the XB1 version be if it was running the same version of the game?, 540p/20?
Well I own all of them and have played AMS2 daily for pretty much the last 2 weeks. They recently released a new update with some graphics improvements and it looks stunning now.
By the way if you actually play AMS2 and have a wheel then there's a league I can invite you to if you're interested? Races are Sunday nights, 8pm UK time. There are not many AMS2 players out there and it would be good to get more people on board.

Honestly I don't know what people are seeing in the FH5 footage, yes it looks stunning but so do the current crop of PC racing sims on high end hardware running at 4k. We've reached the point where all the racing games look bonkers and people are splitting hairs at this point.
MS usually uses Forza games to showcase their hardware, Forza 5 looked like shite just becuz MS made it native 1080p@60 on a weak ass machine called Xbox One, just to show its possible. I'm so glad they did not do the same on FH5, RT is so unnecessary on racing games. Game looks great, I suspect this is the 30 FPS mode despite the 60 FPS YouTube video, this graphics on 60 FPS would be unbelievable.
I personally don't like open world racing games, am more into track racing titles like Motorsport or GT. However I'll give this one a go just because of that stunning graphics.
Wait. Watch this is 4k. This look good as expected, but there is one tract that standout is the North canyon track. It look photo realistic and time when they zoom in the rock and the river, but every other tracts is like one level below it, especially the last tract that you can create. I'll wait tomorrow where they show more gameplay.
I thought the reflection on the cars looked quite nice anyway, plus some poeple thought that was raytracing, in the conference thread lol.

Yep. Actually I was one of the people who thought it was RT reflections simply because of how good it looked. With cars going that fast I dont think anyone will really notice if they arent a 100% accurate. That rendering budget should go towards making the game look prettier which is what they have done here. Good common sense choice I say.
