Forza Horizon Review Thread

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
This game looks gorgeous. Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off or remove the neverending line of guide arrows on the road that show the "optimal route"? They are such a distraction to me. Thanks,

Difficulty settings, turn off the assists as you need to. Gives you a bonus to credits earned after a race too

First thing I do in any Forza game is turn off all assists besides anti-lock brakes. Makes a world of difference. No driving lines, no traction control, etc.

Would recommend that to anyone. You can always turn individual assists back on if its too much, but Horizon seems pretty forgiving.

I've played a lot of racing games in my time and it did not take long to see that Forza 3's difficulty curve was all out of wack compared to the other games out there. It wasnt about skill level or anything, the game's difficulty settings were just not done well. I didn't even bother with F4 and this makes me very hesitant about Horizon.

Wow you missed the definitive racer for this generation. I am sorry.

All you had to do was read reviews, but more importantly follow the F4 threads here. Best racing game I have ever played.

Why would I follow a thread for a game I'm not interested in?

edit: I had no desire for another Forza sim after F3. Sorry if I did not make that clear. If FH has the same goofy too easy/too hard AI as F3 I'm not interested in it either.

If I'm not mistaken, those lines aren't show you the route. They're optimal speed lines, showing you when to lay off the gas, when to brake hard, and when to put the pedal to the metal. When you have a destination selected on your map, those lines are obviously going to lead you to your destination. Turn off that assist and the lines should go away.
Thanks, I know they are designed for optimal speed, guess i used the wrong word. Sometimes for me my preferred route for optimal speed is slamming my car full blast against the guard rails.

Thanks Chandog and Nullpointer, after playing with the demo some more, I was able to disable them. That was the deciding factor, guess I'm off to pick up a copy.
