Blim how the hell does your site manage to pull this shit off dude? You have a small team yet you kick the ass of places like GT, IGN, GS, etc when it comes to video content which is way more important to me than the subjective opinions of anybody who doesn't share my tastes aka reviews.

edit: dirty driving.

Blim is my father.

720p Upscaled

...is how the 360 displays 1080p. We know.

Unless you're saying that the game renders at a sub-HD resolution and is then scaled to display resolution.

Clarify please.

so i've been reading through the last couple pages of this thread but I can't find an answer to the question about the cockpit view and framerate. has anyone addressed that? is it 30 fps inside?

are we expecting answers when Blim's 60 fps version of his last video is posted?

thanks.

One poster who went hands on with the game on a few occasions said that the rate was less than 60 during the in cockpit view. He also talked with a dev/representative at the booth and was told that it was a newly implemented feature and should be ironed out by release.

1) The cockpit view is indeed <60fps. The code at e3 is 1 month old. They're still optimizing it. Hopefully they'll get to 60fps when it hits in October.

2) Blim's video isn't 60fps. It's coming tho!

turn 10 led people to believe it was 1080p native

I have been following this game very closely and I can't recall any claim of it being native 1080p.

720P 60FPS sounds fantastic, there's no way any racing game can be running 1080P 60FPS man.

Even though it uses a 1280x1080 scaled resolution, GT5P was pretty solid with very few frame drops. I think GT5 will have that cleaned up and be a solid 60fps. Totally doable.

Forza at 60fps and 720p native is totally fine by me though.

I am ready for this. So, so ready for this. Looks great and I am very happy to see the car list number go up. Hopefully, we get some muscle cars in there.

Care to show us this "misinformation?"

Oh and btw guys, this game definitely doesn't cure cancer. Total lie on their part.

I've never seen them say the game is running native 1080p. Can you please point me to the interview/document/speech where they made the claim?

if you come on stage repeatedly touting the game runs at 1080p 60 frames a second etc repeatedly on a system that will do 1080p upscaling on virtually every game. what does that lead people to believe?

did you see other devs running around saying 1080p 1080p 1080p...you get the point

Why are you the only person claiming they did this?

I'm pretty sure they never said it's running at 1080p. I know I have never heard them say it, and I've gobbled up every single preview and interview I've seen.

Which actually makes your post rather ironic.

Not only that but I don't recall the title of this thread ever saying that. :lol

Spanning the entire width and breadth of the internet, not one single media outlet has picked up on T10 claiming 1080p. You think that'd make at least ONE headline if T10 was supposedly trying to hammer it home.

You just posted a video showing they said it was 720p. Want to try posting one where they claim it was 1080p, or just continue to shit up the thread with garbage insinuations and theories that end with ...?

I think it's funny that the person asks about the three screens. They've supported that in every Forza game.

The thread title was never changed. I think he might've had a dream about Forza 2 with Dan Greenawalt running around on stage yelling 1080p or something and for some reason thinks it was real.

I think I know what he was talking about. The Turn 10 guys came out in front of some giant 40 foot screen and said that only the power of Forza 3 could run live code that could put out the resolution for a screen that big.

I thought that is what Tretton said at the Sony conference.

EDIT-Wow this was very quickly derailed. Lets move on. I'll start.

All this excitement over Forza 3 caused me to revisit Forza 2. Does anyone have any liveries they've made that they're proud of? I have one, fits a TVR Speed 12 (not sure why I chose that car, to be honest. I'm not a huge fan of it.)

Looking at these makes me hope the 4x increase in resolution applies to the liveries as well.

i'm dying to see more environments, especially the cliff side town and forest from the "community at play" video.

the background detail in montserrat is just astounding. no racing game can touch it. great texturing, tons of detail, huuuuuge vistas... lovely

Agreed, I remember people complaining about Forza 2 not having "3D" grass :lol

Now look at the beautiful environments! Simply stunning ;O

right, with the exception of flipping the car, all of that was in f2. everything seen in videos from e3, again with the exception of flipping cars, also looks on par with f2. the only media showing any advanced damage is the "community at play" video in which the car flips through the air amid tons of bits of its body work, but that video likely isnt indicative of the actual game

I've gotta disagree with you -- the glass breaking and tire damage were not in Forza 2. In my experience with that game, and I played every single race with maxed out difficulty and simulation settings, you never got anything more than a small amount of cosmetic damage and slight hampering to your cornering and speed.

My impression from all of the hands-on previews I've read is that even that damage is more significant in Forza 3, with it hurting the performance of the car much more, and coming off as more violent on screen.

Still, even if this were not the case, I don't see why you would argue that damage is a mixed blessing. At the very least, any type of performance damage from crashing gives incentive to players online to race clean -- I don't see the down side. This is almost certainly not a perfect damage model, and I that would truly be ideal for a sim -- but it's a small step forward, and much better than bouncing off walls like nothing happened.
